You gotta come up with some new material.
Took me 1 minute to find a pic of a 2500 with a Fisher extreme 9'6" plow.

Agreed Builder...This is really GM country around here and I see 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton GM truck with snow plows everywhere...Same ones year after year.

Plowing is tough on any make truck...you beat them senseless doing that. A friend of mine plows gated plans and wanted me to jump in with him...I told him, only with one of your trucks.

The entire truck get's hammered, don't care who makes it...You're going to wear stuff out way before it's time.

Most of the time higher rear ratios are needed for trucks with bad torque curves....hint....hint. ;) GM pulls great with 3.73's and yes, I oughta know. Ford's still big on the 4.10s.

BTW: 2 major components GM built the Humvee are the IFS suspension and transmission. :p
What are Ford's major contributions to military turcks? <crickets chirping>

I also only do the mild off roading on muddy jobsites, snow plowing, etc. so SFA is pretty useless to me. I did just see an EXCELON energy GMC3500 crewcab 4x4 IFS do an awesome job climbing some of the nastiest terrain under power lines I've ever seen next to our new jobsite. :)

Once again you make yourself look like a fool. Ford just like GM uses 3.73 gears in all its SRW diesel truck until just a few years ago when they now can get by with 3.55 and 3.31 gears. The 4.10 gears were available on DRW trucks and gassers just like GM.

As for Fords contribtuions to the military they are many. They built more Jeeps than any other manufacture along with tanks, airplanes, and the list goes on.

You should stop while you are ahead.

Did not say it would not work. Take a look at the front tires after one week of plowing.... BTW, do your homework. Fisher, Meyer, Boss, Western, ect all sell kits to BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEF up that weak front end of the GM trucks for snow plow installations. There goes you ride. Would be smarter to just buy a stronger truck in the first place.

Here is the cheap way to fix it. Do your research.

SO lemme get this straight. GM is now the best Diesel on the planet when they had the 6.3 which was a fake diesel, then the Duramax that had major design flaws, huge over heating problems that GM refused to acknowledge, and the worst milage of any diesel made - I know I had two of them.

They may be great vehicles today but my 04, and 05 was a waste of money. I could never get more than 12 Mpg out of them EMPTY.

Dodge has a great engine around a bad truck.

Ford, yep it has had it's share of bad diesel engines.

So my point is how is it possible with computers and robots these companies are still making such bad products?

When I used to plow commercially I used the Dodge Power Wagon in the 70's and that was one truck you could not kill. To have a vehicle that you could drive blade down into a pile of snow for 10 hours a day weeks on end and still be in one piece was amazing. I actually bent the truck in half off-roading with it, the insurance company didn't total it. It was bent so bad it pulled the started cables away from the starter.

They straightened it and off I went. That thing was a beast.

If I was going to be snow plowing there is only one vehicle I would use.

The City of Pittsburgh uses nothing but Chevy 3/4 and 1 tons and Chevy dumps to plow and maintain ther streets, and it been that way for the 20 years I've been working down there. Police cars, vans ,trucks..Everything GM.

If they had a maintenance issue with that, I would think they'd strike a deal with another brand...No?

I'd totally dispute that fact after 9 years and 140k miles of use, trailering tractor, yards of road base, firewood, 5th wheel, and lots of other. I did a lift pump. Otherwise, the biggest thing that has happened to my truck is body work when I got rear-ended.

I thought about that when I got the truck, having come from Fords which I like. But this truck has been excellent.

Before my Dad retired, the shop he worked in had 500,000 and 750,000 mile Cummins Dodge coming in to the shop. For regular oil change. Had a number of these come thru. Guys hauling across the country, with trailers that were almost never unhitched.

Almost all public agencies buy from the lowest bidder. So it seems that the local Chevy dealers are the lowest bidders for the fleet sales, or there is a little payola going on, which wouldn't be a first when dealing with public agencies.

Like everyone else, I'll toss in my two cents.

Three of my friends have diesel Dodges, 2 '01s and an '06, and they love them, but for me the seats aren't comfortable for more than a 10 minute ride. So for me to buy a Dodge would require a complete seat change out, and the fact that you couldn't get a real crewcab and long bed took them off the table for me.

Another friend has one of the leftover '06 Chevys sold as an '07, and he loves it, and it is quiet for a diesel and it rides very good, but when I first saw it,the first thing I thought was that he bought a 4x2, but it was a 4x4. It's lower than my '01 F-250 4x2. We were driving in a parking lot and couldn't drive over a bumper block without scraping the front cross member, that tells me that it's not meant for anything other than driving on snow covered roads.

These are my personal opinions, so if you don't like them, keep it to yourself.

Honestly I really like this concept vehicle. It could have some value for professional hunters and guides, as well as some construction types. Aside from them though ANY 3/4 ton or larger truck would be very low on my list of vehicles that I'd want for serious off roading. Simply put these trucks are too big and heavy for serious off roading. Even the Raptor which is arguably one of the most off road capable pickup trucks to come out in a long time was seriously handicapped in some of the testing that took place for Peterson's 4Wheel and Off Road Magazine's recent 4x4 of the year testing. I would seriously consider buying one of these trucks if they ever came out, but I would still throw my Polaris Sportsman in the bed and drive that for any serious off roading. This truck is simply too big, too heavy, and frankly too expensive for any hard core off roading.
