Staying home tonight, but that doesn't mean the beer and Jack won't be out. I'm not as old as some of you guys on here but I like the safety/serenity of home to be honest. I don't think I've ever gone out (like to a bar) on NYE... sometimes at someone else's place though.

It never seemed like much of a holiday to me - all built up around drinking, and that gets old, has been old since my early 20's. I don't do anything for new years.

Today is also my wife's 71st Birthday, so we went out to eat early at her favorite place: the Olive Garden.:laughing: And with 31 degrees right now, going for 29 and a 70% chance of freezing rain, we won't open a door again tonight except to let the dog out and back in. She (the wife that is; not the dog) may stay up to see the Times Square ball fall, and I think I'll try to stay awake until 9 p.m. or so.

Heading over to my daughter's husband's family party. We'll have a few drinks, eat too much, watch the youngsters shoot fireworks, and probably be in bed by 11 pm.

Somehow how our daughter ended with grandparents and cousins tonight, wife and I will stay in, to bed early and I'm driving down to the farm at daybreak to get a few New Year's hours in on the MF...
