The information on both the Blue Oval and the Orange machines, good, bad and ugly is all over the net and here, at TBN. You got 24 hours to get a heck of a lot of meaningful research done before heading to an auction. Keep your wits about you. :D:D

You got some homework to do, young man, and you are not going anywhere until its done!! Bwaaaaah!!

GREAT information, thanks: looks like any of them will do what i am wanting to do: the kubota has a fel on it, so that would be an extra that i don't need to pay for: i have 2 tractors with fel, an use the heck out of them: but don't need another, unless it goes really cheap: thanks for the info: i'll let you know how it goes

The BX2350 has the sudden jerk syndrome.

I Would recommend all the BXs except the BX24 BX2350 and BX1850 because of this problem..

The HST was too grabby, too sudden in stopping in reverse. Some guys complained more than others, but it was a whiplasher on some machines.

Head's up.

now that sounds like my RTV: i would hate it, except my GRANDson drives it too: an when you let off the pedal, it really whoas, an will give you whip lash in reverse an a knot on your head in forward if your not careful. since the GRANDkids drive it, i kinda like the idea that it stops without the use of the brake..
oops almost forgot, the auction is at Perry, Arkansas...

There was a fairly long thread rather recently about this quirk of the 50 series BXs.
Some on here even swapped them off to get away from the problem.

You really would be better off going with any of the other BXs while avoiding the BX1850 BX2350 and BX24.

the utube video was missing, but i appreciate the info about this model kubota: as i don't need the fel thats on the one at the auction, i doubt it will be any where near cheap enough for me to bid on it: but, if it did happen to go cheap enough, i think i would go ahead an bid/buy.

auction results: the ford 1210 got a bid of $1000 but had a reserve of $2000 so it didn't sell: it needed work, an smoked quite a bit when it was running: they had a JD 720 that went for @ $1000, it didn't have the original front end on it, but supposedly everything worked an it ran ok: an old cub tractor got a bid of 500 with a reserve of 1200, the hood was rusted completely thru, it ran ok, but looked bad: the kubota 2350 had a reserve of $10000: so i left: basicly this auction was a lesson in swapping junk: the kubota had just under 200 hours on it, but the hood an side panels were broke, the running board or whatever you want to call them, had dents an it looked like it had really been worked hard, or not taken care of. the only deal i saw was a ford 1993 3/4 ton truck, diesel, that went of $1100: an it looked good an ran good:

Thats excatly why I shy away from consignment auctions ... in my business I do not even conduct them. When I contract a sale its always an absolute sale with out reserve (only exception is Real Estate)

Consignors just always believe there stuff is better than anyones and its always worth twice as much.
