I believe Sigarms is looking for all terrian tires. I like the BFG tires also. I have used the knock off brands of the BFG and they don't last as long. )</font>

The Goodyear M/T's have the 3-ply sidewalls too and are excellent for the mud & swamps down here in Florida, especially when pulling the Featherlite Horse Trailer to and from the hunt camp and the cattle pastures.

Re: \"good\" all terrain truck tires?

I will second the vote for the Big O tires. I had two sets on my '94 T100. They performed very well on and off road. The first set lasted better than 45k miles. The second set was on it when I sold it. My only experience with BFG ATs (on another truck) was very unsatisfactory--maybe I got a bad set.

Try tirerack.com. They not only have many tires, but opinions about each tire from a variety of backgrounds.

Tire Rack

You will need to know your tire size. It's a great way to get a rough idea. You won't find tires like Big O which are typically Kelley Sprinfield tires.

I have been pretty satisfied with the Cooper Discoverer's on my truck. They seem to last longer than anything else I have ttried and the price is better in my area.

I run 33x12.5 BFG All Terrain's on my Jeep Wrangler and I have been very satisfied with them.

On second thought, maybe you should not read the reviews in Tire Racks customer review section. Some tires customers would never buy again.

Re: \"good\" all terrain truck tires?

I have had the BFG's twice with pretty miserable performance. The first set did well on/off road but wore out in 40k. The second set were so out of round that they were sent back as defectives. The tire guys here suggest if you must have BFG's run the metric equivelent as they claim the metric tire molds are more "round". /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I switched to firestones and got 65k with satisfactory performance. My newest set is the Bridgestone Dueller Revo. The most awesome tire I've ever had except I lost about .5 mpg with them. Rain and off road performance is fantastic, no highway noise.

I just put those on a Dodge Durango I have that will now see some actual off road use. I haven't tried them yet, but they do look more aggressive. The only downside (if you even consider it a downside) is that they do hum just a bit when going down a smooth road.

Re: \"good\" all terrain truck tires?

Sig, I have to say , I use michelins XCLT4 great ride , quiet, excellent tread wear (over 50k and still look great)great traction in snow ( It has pulled on two different occassions once in 16-18" of snow an S-10 blazer up an embankment before he could even get his S-10 in gear) Of course we are talking 4WD... I've used goodyear a/t (hard and noisy OEM tires) traction Ok, BFG good in mud(somewhat noisy though)....

I use my truck mostly on road and for some towing dual axle trailer with car or tractor, And I am very pleased with the michelins, I was surprised to see the difference in ride and wear , I still have them and just recently put some 20" wheels (americans) and Avon tires to use during the good weather and find them to be a little more harsh in ride quality but they (look KEWL) will wear good as well with a 460 tread wear rating... But the michelins are going back on soon through the winter /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I really like them /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: \"good\" all terrain truck tires?

My vote would be for the Bridgestone A/T Dueler REVO. I put them on a F250 SuperDuty two winters ago and am really impressed with there gripping ability in the mud/snow and quite on the highway. I stayed with the OEM tire size and fuel milage is about the same as the Firestones that were on it from the factory. Steve
