Possible large east coast storm coming next weekend Friday and Saturday. Very cold temperatures with snow possible in mountains of North Carolina Virginia and West Virginia. Wind driven rain in other areas. This could cause lots of problems for those of us in the east and a little too early if you ask me.

Good day at work today everything that we wanted to accomplish was done and back home by 3:30PM

Good Evening

five and three quarters days per week is a lot of work Mr. Bup. At least it's been really nice to be outside.
making hay, and pavement, when the sun shines...
Is it still politically correct to use the term Indian Summer? Yeah, how about Native American Summer.
Doesn't have quite the same ring but I suppose it would work. Respectfully.
anyhow, it's nice out for late October, even if I am much further South.
The roses are blooming. marvelous.

Good Morning. 0300, clear, 48F with 91% humidity. Forecast high of 85F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 55F tonight.

I just got in from work. There were two young coyotes in the road just past the crossroads, a couple hundred yards from the house. I hear them often, but rarely see them.

Now I'm off to bed. Hope everyone has a good Sunday. {and I hope I can sleep in}

49F and partly cloudy @ 04:00 ...

Just knocked off for the day ...

Got the attachment plate welded on the pallet forks ... after getting the two roll pins out of the rods that go through the forks themselves ... that alone probably took an hour or more. They'll get replaced with bolts.

Also got the all the welding done on the 3PH frame for the ballast block.

Managed to light up a paper towel that was lying on the floor ... took off my lid and was like "What the ... ?"

Got a little smoky there for awhile ...

Earlier I had started moving a pile of topsoil in one of the circles with the big dump cart ... and then switched over to moving compost (woodchips and grass) from the field up by the shop down to the compost pile behind the house ... did about 6 loads ... maybe 1/3 done ... on the current pile (there's a second one )

Helped one of the neighbors get rid of two big piles of leaves by sucking them up with the Trac-Vac.

Looks like this might be a banner year for compost ... the deer are gonna love it ... lol ...

Also changed all the hydraulic quick couplers on the FEL and loader valve over to skid-steer flush face couplers ...

Already loving it ... no drips ... now I just have to clean all the mung and drool off the loader frame from the last ones.

I think that there will some planting/transplanting going on later today ...

38 right now and a high of 49 predicted.

Had a pretty full day Saturday...once the grass dried some...
Got the RFM off the tractor and rigged the snow blower to the 3PH. This might be a bit early in the season but I had to move the snow blower to stow the RFM and I doubt I'll need the tractor much until it snows. I also mowed most of the lawn...all that's left is the fenced in area which I'll probably do with the walk behind mower (since it's got a bagger). No doubt, I'll be putting mulching blades on the Zero-turn before next year's mowing.

No good reason to be up this early on a Sunday...just woke up...not much else to do so I'm on the Computer.

Spent yesterday running wires in the barn, nearly finished with electrical work!
Overhead doors are a week or so away it will be nice to close the place up

54 degrees going to 74 today, still no rain in sight, eighty degrees here on tuesday and Wed, but then temps drop and 34 degrees Sat morning. But so far they don't say rain with that front, hope so, but not severe weather of course. I've got weed and feed down plus my new pop up gutters. Let it rain...

off to food shopping this morning, stocking up for my first house guests coming tomorrow. Going to take a shower in the third bathroom this morning to make sure it works for them. Boy will I be glad when I get into my own bedroom and stop playing musical pillows and toothbrushes. Probably beginning of December.

Need to pour fist cup of coffee. 42° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 58 with sun all day. Should be a nice day to have one last BBQ before putting it away for the winter. With some NASCAR in the afternoon.
Drew, Indian Summer it is. Your place looks great.
Good Morning All.

50 headed to 71 and sunny again.

Worked outside sawing and painting yesterday. More today.

Keeping an eye on Buppies' forecast - using it as a motivator to get quite a few projects wrapped up before next weekend.

didn't know I'd be popping today, but I am. I'm popping all over.
Luckily not with a strange disease but with my new gutter drains called poppers.
I'd never seen them before; hope they can handle a downpour. Exactly what the doctor ordered; gets all the water at least six feet away from the house. Wish I had known he was going to do this before buying seven plastic downspout extenders. Sure looks better without them.

now if only it would rain. Front beds are now mulched and overall a good day.
Except for my trip to Agri Supply.
now that was truly annoying.
First drive over to this store in greenville, huge place, and they said yes they had the seven foot "Chinese finishing mower"
but they had to put it together. great, so I headed over that way today after giving them an extra day to get it built. First thing they tell me when I walk in the door is oh, we have a whole new set of wheels coming for you because these have chunks out of them.

really?
do you know what happened to this mower that would have taken chunks out of the tire?
Shipping damage.
really.
well I'd like to see it to make sure there is no other damage.
Oh, we would never have assembled it if it wasn't right.
really.
out I go on their golf cart. Took me all of ten seconds to say let's go back. Big scratch down the gearcase cover that some bozo had sprayed the wrong color touchup paint on, likely when it was too cold out, and it was all bubbling up. What a mess. No thank you. I think the whole thing had been flipped over because that case had taken a good shot. Hardly just cosmetic.

oh but they all come that way and I've been doing this for thirty years.
really?
perhaps you should set higher standards...
headed to Kubota dealer on Monday for a Land Pride.

Do those poppers get the rain water far enough from the house? ...pop up like an underground irrigation system? I have one section of roof with little overhang and have been thinking of putting up a gutter on it, or re-doing the French drain.

44F pop up showers thru out the day..high of 50.
About 6 hours blowing leaves yesterday, just waiting for 7 oaks to drop there leaves and hope the neighbors plan on cleaning up there leaves soon...blow over.
This weekend youth hunting for deer heard one close shoot...hour before dark lot of road hunters.<----- :(
Putter day plan hope to catch the last half of the race.

Enjoy the day all.

Nice couple of days on tap and temps expected in the mid to upper 70's around here. That helps me get more of the stuff done that I should have done earlier and gives more time for tractor maintenance as well. "Bonus" days like this are really great.

Got to sleep in this morning very enjoyable. Going to work in yard I think leaves still falling but mostly in trees yet. Color is now beautiful but two weeks late. Big cool down and rain/snow still there for this coming Friday if it stays thru Tuesday we better watch out

Roy Gator blades really work well for mulching grass and leaves

Sunny and 32 this Morning with a high of 57.It should be a nice day working in the yard.

/ Good morning!!!! #25,937
53 this morning and headed to 77 today. Got up to 79 yesterday so I think we could see 80 today. Hard to believe rifle deer season is two weeks away and we are seeing these temps.

Off to Home Depot to return the table saw I bought two weeks ago. Won't square up. Off 1/16" from front to back of blade on the same tooth. Not that much movement in the adjustment. Service center told me Rigid said to return it to the store because it wasn't
worth fixing.
Haven't decided if I will try another one or just go to lowes and get a Delta.

Roy Gator blades really work well for mulching grass and leaves

Thanks for the tip!

Speaking of mulching...it rained since I first posted this morning (had gone back to bed for a while too). Doesn't look like I'll be mowing today...

51F and heavy clouds currently.

Don't think I will be mowing today either. We had rain last night that isn't drying out with no sun. Just a few taller grass areas I wanted to hit one last time.

I guess it is a good day to do the seasonal equipment shuffling in the garage. The 3pt blower is back in a corner and I need to service it.

70F and .81 inches rain last 24 hours. A bit overcast but nothing coming down right now.

Got almost half my mowing yesterday, maybe get some more today.

Be safe
Have a great day.
