Got coffee pot brewing. 36° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 54° with sun until late when clouds move in. Leaves are falling. But not enough to pickup yet. Need to get some small items cleaned up on motorhome before leaving later this month.
Irv, it's always depressing to drive on the east side of Detroit. They are cleaning up Bell Isle. Hope they bring it back to it's former beauty. Which plant did you work at?
Good Morning All.

good morning all, a warmer 53 here going to 73. Rain forecast for tomorrow has pretty much fizzled, hope something shows up.
yesterday's appt with the arthritis doc was disappointing, nothing new, nothing other than what was done for me before, my this is a bad mri, lose twenty pounds (sigh...) and do warm water swimming. Well, I'm going to start with the hot tub and do a lot of toe exercises...that must be what he is talking about...;)
Today I head off to Greenville to see the pain doc where I was told ahead of time they have nothing new either. Oh well...suck it up and keep going.
I really want Larro's Ponce De Leon Fountain Of Youth tonic. He told me he found a well on his property and is bottling the stuff like mad. I mean look at Larro's pic now, he looks 14! Must be good stuff.

kitchen floor is being torn out, bit of a challenge since they want to tear out the little bathroom floor nearby too and I told them wait, do you guys like having a toilet?
The master bath is gutted, the bathroom I'm in has a tile floor drying and no toilet, uh, you take the third and last one and well guys...they got the message. Don't take the toilet off until the other one goes back in. got up this morning, put shoes on, walked the entire length of the house to take a leak, and boy is that getting old. Actually the 2am trip while I was half asleep was even more enjoyable... They are grouting the tile today; maybe the toilet can go back on too. Am using the bathroom upstairs until this is all done. Just a little more upheaval added to my disorder.

landscapers are laying sod down the entire length of my new driveway; everyone agreed that was best due to time of year and getting it done. So that comes in today around noon and those guys starting laying green, literally and figuratively. Half centipede, half another grass, based on sun vs. shade. First part of lane is heavily shaded and last part is fully in sun. We shall see. so about one month after the driveway was put down it will finally look finished. And it looks like I will be on daily water patrol. When I moved here it seemed to downpour every day. Now when I have thirty shrubs planted, half an acre of grass seed down, and all this sod getting put down, the rain has disappeared. I think it all went to Texas. I suppose that's fair for once.;)

Good morning! It is 60˚ and will remain at 60˚ all day with a North wind and light rain on and off. Yep, it did come to Texas Drew.

I got the 10# of crimson clover planted in the remote garden and 50# of rye grass planted by the pond.

I picked up a 10'X5' kennel panel at TCS that will be my new garden deer gate. I'll mount it different and should get an extra 8" of clearance, which I apparently need for the tiller when I turn into the garden. I don't think the deer out here will jump over 5' but I will find out.

I can't find the local election results for our county anywhere and might have to wait on the weekly newspaper.

40F with solid overcast. Mid-50's today, maybe sunshine later.

Feeling wiped-out this morning. Got home at 12:30am from counting ballots. Ugly ballot to hand count with nine candidate races on the front side, seven referendum questions on the backside and no consistent spacing anywhere--which required four separate tally sheets to mark.

We were all going cross-eyed trying to track across all that paper. One person reads the ballot and marks their tally sheet, the other person in the counting team just marks their own tally sheet. Ballots are tallied in batches of 50, at the end of which each member's tally counts have to agree.

It's magical how an open overhead door becomes a black hole that sucks in every leaf within nearby galaxies.

Drew, hope your remodel goes well and quickly. It could be worse. There could have been corpses in the crawlspace and your entire property became a crime scene; the FBI excavating your yard with a backhoe. See, don't you feel lucky now?

52 this morning and headed to 58. Rain moved out a couple of hours ago but will be lifting back north about lunch. So far not much rain was just a misty night.

/ Good morning!!!! #26,230
44F and cloudy @ 07:30 ... had a misty light rain overnight, got about .15" ... supposed to be partly cloudy with a high of 60F later today ... some wind would be nice to help dry things out ...

Big cool down slated for mid next week ... highs only in the mid 30's ...

Got my firewood logs skidded out yesterday and then went ahead took down a couple more trees which were hazards ... dead aspens which were probably 14" or so diameter at the base ... just pushed 'em over with the loader ... still have another two to remove but they didn't seem inclined to go over when I pushed on them ... might just have to cut them. There's one 4" widow-maker limb about 20' long laying cross-wise between two trees, about 30' up ... sure would like to get that out of there ... but I think I'm going to have to wait for nature's assistance.

This area is just northeast of the polebarn ... clearing it out and grading it will allow me to cut off the last of the surface water from running down towards the barn.

Cut down a pine tree that was growing under the electrical wires on the west side of the house.

Got the snowblower and wood chipper pulled out for maintenance ...

Blew some leaves into a pile ... had the yard pretty much all cleaned up ... but the wind took care of that.

Have a couple large piles of fill dirt in the barn I need to spread out ... might do that today, since it's dry in there.

ok Dave, true no dead bodies yet. But no Spanish doubloons either...
place should look a lot better when this is all done today, and then I have to water it.
and the rain keeps disappearing out of our forecast.

68F and no rain last 24 hours.

Got the old grills and other junk hauled off to transfer station and picked up the new grill at HD. Got it mostly assembled, all but the operating innards. Seems quite well builds, especially compared to the Brinkman it replaced. I went with the Weber Genesis E330. A bit pricey for sure.

Be safe
Have a great day

2014-11-05, 0338 43 right now...a lot warmer then this time yesterday! Won't be much warmer during the day though...high is to be 53. Looks like the national elections went quite well...

Wish I could say the same for the local one here. But I voted so I was the right to grumble :)

Good Morning. 1110, sunny, 81F with 61% humidity. Forecast high of 79F with 10% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 58F tonight. It was a pretty early night for an election night last night. We got home by 2130. I was a little surprised that the medical marijuana didn't pass. It had 58% but needed 60% to pass. If they had waited two years there would have been a much bigger turnout among the younger folks. In a very rare happening these days, our sitting congressman got beat.

On a brighter note, my friend who teaches Taekwondo at the Civic Center won his race for County Commissioner in Jackson County {the county to the north of here}. I'm going to call him up and ask him why my road has pot holes. He really does care about him community, because he is a big farmer, works part time for the Sheriff's Office, teaches Taekwondo and buys and sells cars. He made a ton of money in beach condos when the market was going up and doesn't have to work if he didn't want to. He could just fly his two planes and watch the world go by. I'm interested to see if he runs for re-election in four years. Being a County Commissioner is about the worst job in politics IMO.

I'm doing work around the house this morning. Then going into work in a little while.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Drew my tonic must be wearing off. For the first time since I have lost the weight, my back is kicking me in the butt the last two days. Tomorrow is my lifting day, so I'll double up on the tonic and hope it's back to normal by then.

And doesn't your bedroom have an outside door. Didn't you get the memo that the best thing about living in the country is being able to pee off the porch:D

and yes there is a door there, and only two steps down to the grass. Sounds like a bottom step affair to me. Or perhaps I could live/pee large off the second step, but gosh, just don't know about the top step. Pretty daring to me. ;) and then one needs to contemplate the wind and all sorts of things that really are not foremost on one's mind. only the aaaahhhhhh.

Wayne, that barn is really nice looking, great job.
Irv, by any chance did you know my father in law, Don Neubauer? He ran a couple of GM plants, including the Fisher Guide one in Trenton NJ.
It was because of him I was stuck buying Cadillacs for my wife. Her father got a new one every year from the company and she was daddy's girl, and making good bucks as an ICU nurse so she was driving a very nice STS sedan in that extra fancy white paint they have. Actually I got her to downgrade to other GM cars, but
her last car was a bright red XTS.

two young guys sawing up the kitchen floor at the minute, pounding, crashing, whining, like a giant dental drill. Ahhh, now the sound of chisels smacking into things.
The symphony of destruction. Badda Badda Boomba Boom
I should probably put headphones on and watch a netflix movie until they are gone.
