Three man crew out there putting up our lights right now. Tempertature has come from 32° early this morning up to 44° now, but it's a mite windy.

And I just renewed our auto and homeowner's insurance this past month. A few years ago I deliberately arranged to have both expire/renew on the same date. We use AAA annual polices and nowhere nearly as much increase as 50%.
Auto annual $1153 went to $1266
Home annual $1312 went to $1328

So auto was by far the biggest jump, but nowhere close to 50%.

My brother thanks you. Going with AAA he will save $1,150.

Gas was $1.479/L or $5.59/ US gal.

here in BC gas is $2.17/L, about $8.00/US gal - yikes.

As it happens, I really did go out with a bang. Boss called me late morning and asked me to do something unethical again, wanting me to fudge some numbers on an inspection document for a customer. I refused, so he said he'd do it himself if I was "uncomfortable" with it. I shut everything down in my office, took my key to the HR lady, told her why I was leaving, and left about 11:30 this morning. I really did intend to work to the end of the day Friday, but I just can't be a part of that. Not the way I wanted to leave, but there it is.

Ouch.

Got gas this morning in Illinois for $3.22/gal. Saw a station over in St. Louis advertising $2.79. Back in Illinois this evening, passed a station a little while ago that's up to $3.69. It's all over the place around here.
