Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #181,151
67°F and .03 inches rain.

A bit of piddling around yesterday. God must have agreed with my plan as we had very light rain on and off throughout the day. He knows I prefer not to work in the rain. Now I now that might sound a bit silly to most. Back in my Army days we worked in ALL weather and being a field soldier there were some miserable days. Leadership involves care for the troops and that means being able to respond to the weather aspect whether freezing cold, blistering heat, or wet that can cause injury. My personal lesson carried to retirement - avoid.

Likely watch some football. Possibly neaten up my generator wiring or at least the drawing. Yes, I did get it functioning properly once I figured out I had two different schemes and I needed the more complicated one. Thinking hard about changing that at some point.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning! Low of 14°, currently 29°, on the way to 40°. Minimal snow melt yesterday, only hit 35°. Only areas that melted were where it was shoveled or broomed.

Dennis, definitely a sad day. There is some good woodworking shown for sure.

Drew, nice pics. A couple million bucks floating by.....

Found a flaw in the addition / deck build.... the roof runoff drips directly on the first step (out of 5) going off the deck. I cleared the snow early, but then the roof drips put a nice coating of clear ice....
The son went out to retrieve a FedEx package.... BOOM, BANG, THUD !! He went down hard. Only initial complaint was his wrist.... hopefully, there won't be any further.

I'll need to get a gutter put up. Wifey has been saying we need gutters for couple years already. ----- But--- we hardly get any rain......

Successful day moving the desk / computer / associated office stuff.

Still needs a bit more organizing, but mainly done.

We keep looking at the spot the 'desk' used to be.... it seems strange to see the open space. I have another project lined up.... going to build a tall cabinet custom sized to the space. The Fiber-optic internet equipment comes in at that spot, so the cabinet is a necessity to house all the stuff now sitting on the floor.

That just gives me an excuse to go back to the sawmill;)
I'll try to control myself and not buy a giant stack.....

Going to add some looong (10') shelves in the addition up near the ceiling. I have a 40 year collection of Hess Trucks. Wifey said they should be on display.

I'm glad the shop is in relatively 'organized' condition......it soon won't be....:oops:

Wifey got me hooked on a new internet marketplace called "Temu". Thousands of items, all really low priced. The site has a lot to be desired, but worth the aggravation. Funny thing is a lot of the tools (mainly hand tools and accessories) are the same as HF. Only the price is less than half.

For $100 got an assortment of 80 jigsaw blades, 8 side cutter drill bits, an assortment of 7 step drill bits in an aluminum case, a sheet metal cutter that attaches to a drill, a right angle drill attachment, 20 neodymium magnets, an 82pc sanding drum kit, and a black metal weathervane. --- And free shipping.
Definitely need to use the search function if you are looking for something in particular, otherwise you'll never find it.... just way too much stuff to scroll through.

Anyway, sorry about the long post.....
Today is going to be a tinker / piddle day.....
Everyone have a great day!

We got a little over an inch of (our first) snow overnight. Pretty, but it brings on the reality that winter is here... Not enough to plow, but enough to shovel the decks and walks. I bought a 50' length of snow fence yesterday, but I scraped all my old T posts. I'll need to get some from the SIL, and try to set that up later this week with it's supposed to warm up above freezing. Never had one before - 8 feet between posts seem about right?

Good Afternoon LS,
A few years ago I built this corner cabinet for the Vermont house ! It was only wasted space and now we get some much needed storage from this space !

... going to build a tall cabinet custom sized to the space

I have a step and 25 foot walkway that is under north and east facing eves, when I had the new step and walk poured this summer we placed heat mats in the concrete. Haven't had to turn them on yet.

For your steps there are these;

tucked into a very strange campground in Milton DE, chosen only because it's so close to my friend's home. Last stop, friends coming over to pick me up and take me back to their place for dinner.
maybe I can close my eyes before they come...

4 hours of driving in rain. Good to be stopped.

Glad you got doctor to treat wife’s eye Scotty

They do wngsprd hopefully this will lead to further improvement in their football program. Interesting that UVA would turn sprinklers on while tech players were taking pictures on the field after the game

One of our kids reflected yesterday on some friends had lost the opportunity to ask parents about their story and history before too late.
Wanted to set up some time with us to do some interviews and write it down

Frits, asI recall, you’ve posted an anecdote or two here worth capturing.
