I wanted to thank Mostly for a rather amazing document he gave me, showing all the museums in texas sorted by city and county with descriptions. I read the whole thing and was seriously impressed. If I was a snowbird here one could spend all winter working on this list.

Mostly how did you compile that? I wonder if it works in other states...

Popgadget, what a beautiful job you are doing, it just keeps looking better all the time, landscaping is always the finishing touch. It's a new home for Zoe too, new place to curl up by the fire. Or on top of you...

Good morning! 55˚F heading to the low 90's. Welcome to central Texas Drew. See you this afternoon. Don't have to worry about the heat the cool pool (80s) will take care of that and sitting on the shady porch afterwards. Should be a relaxing day after you get out of N. Texas traffic. Your Exit here is before the Austin Traffic on I35.

Have my 6 week Dr. visit and PT before Drew gets here. Our porch chairs arrived yesterday and the 45 second video on how to put them together is a bit misleading, it took 2.5 hours and we only got two assembled. Always a project behind. Time to put the robots in the pool and let them work. Water temp before sunrise is a cool 73˚ but will warm up about 10 degrees with the clear skies and variable winds.

Good morning,
39° now highs in the low 60’s sunny and winds W 0-10 mph. Dew points have been in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. 👍

Still working on the yard junk cleanup, probably 75% done which is better than I expected.
Time to switch over to leaf patrol today and rest the back a little bit, mind says I can lift that, back says no you can’t lol. That’s about it for now.

Prayers for those dealing with these storms

Good Morning,
Vt, 40 to start going to 53, but beautiful and sunny at the moment! I will bring the pontoon trailer to the marina today ! This will be officially our last boating day !

Frits, wondering if you could get some heavy duty structural steel, I beam or something similar, use some heavy duty threaded rod and while beam is jacked up and install the I beam ! Also possibly shimming under the jacked up beam and then tighten the threaded rod ! Remove the Jack and see if you still have no sag condition ?

Not too bad $1.80 gallon coming today to fill it,
Lou, nice price ! I do a pre buy with Lake Champlain Coal and Fuel. I pre bought 350 gals at $1.99 per gal !

Did a quickly mow on the lawn yesterday, looks much better when properly mowed !

Hope all have a blessed day ! 🙏

Lou, are you going to venture a guess as to identifying that old tractor Mostly and I found sunk into the ground? Ag or maybe industrial? Has old IH look grill

decided to take beltway around Fort Worth if I see exit marked 820 West. Looks like 820 East is bad news, all red. So I will swing West around Fort Worth instead of driving through downtown in weekday rush hour. It adds twenty minutes but I'd rather keep moving than inch along in traffic with some enlightened fellow behind me with his grill in my bicycle.

maybe I'll see someone riding a horse to work. I haven't seen anyone on a horse yet...not that I want to get on one but wonderful animals. Native Americans would not have flourished without them. Or does everyone, and apparently everyone, drive a high powered UTV now? I've seen empty stockyards but no cows. Lots of cows out in fields. Is there a hitching post in Giddings? Will anyone ride to town?

have a good supply of dog biscuits onboard. Need to work on giving them away

and what do you know...I spy on the map the city of Kyle below Austin.
That's two of our illustrious crew that have done such great deeds a city has been named after them. Kyle is one of Texas' fastest growing cities.

My guess would be a propane powered Farmall M
This is a gas powered one but other then the propane tank looks good

good morning, 48 going to 66 sunny

first cup of coffee after a walk with Cody. Lots of sniffing along the path must have been a busy night for the wildlife

D texting from her delay in Frankfurt. The car is in for repair again and they are trying to upsell. Told her just don't fall for that and just fix the problem it is there for

Mowed some grass yesterday. Pondered some more on the house leveling issue. Need a plan

First threat of frost in Ontario's banana belt coming tonight.
Every year I play the game of resisting turning on the furnace for the first time.
Coming into this week the long term forecast was quit a bit warmer than reality is turning into.
I thought it would be a breeze to make November 1.
Not so much now. I might lite the fireplace to extend things, but it's still 3 weeks.
On those sunny days that warm the house up I don't mind the cooler overnights. But on those rainy miserable days the thermostat is so close.
I'm like a dieter with a bag of Halloween candy on the dining room table.
Mowing the grass after lunch when it's had a chance to dry off the dew.
Have to bring in some Hibiscus pots.
Cover the everbearing strawberries
No point checking my grape plants (20 ). The raccoon family has effectively stripped them.
Bumper crop of apples shouldn't be bothered by a light frost.
Where and when did summer go?

Morning all, 46 going to 70 and cloudy, dry
Will need to water again today.

Father in hospital again, but getting released back home after some fixes. Becoming a regular occurrence :-(

Yesterday hauled some rounds and did some splitting, racks almost full of older, dry Ash.

Drew - looks like you and Mostly made good use of your time. Pictures are great.

Somewhere during the week did a lot of cleanup of ornamental grasses in big garden. Will wait for larger ornamental grasses to dry out before trimming and moving out.

Frankfurt, cold, wet, but nice old town area, though it's a rebuild. River front is nice for a walk or boat ride.

Lots of shooting here, looks like some of our daily deer are missing. Doe and fawn this morning, Doe huffing to get fawn moving when she saw us.

Be well,

Started work on cleaning this pile up
20241008_175256.jpg

Still strong enough to haul up the rounds. This one split nicely
20241008_180301.jpg

Certainly easier than rolling or sledding rounds.
20241008_175312.jpg

Left one pile under trampoline for fire pit. Other load onto the racks. Still need 2-3 more loads to have enough for winter.
