Good Morning
36° and clear, high of 60. Another day without rain, sprinklers will be on again.
Yesterday’s trip was just the way I like them, uneventful, bordering on boring. The winds at altitude were brisk, well over 100kts. We were hurt going south at 43,000 feet and got a push coming home at 45,000. The winds were stronger lower, but we burn less fuel up high so it makes sense to save the fuel rather than get more tailwind coming home.

Old Folks Home passed its final inspection while I was gone, there are still things to finish up, like move the few remains tools out, uncover the floors, get the closet rods installed and other details.

Today starts with breakfast with the professor, then back to checking more stuff off the list.

Good Morning,
Ct, 33 to start going to 58 or so !

Kyle, prayers for your son and getting relief from that fever ! 🙏

Paul, sounds like your almost there ! We will all need some finish panorama shots when your all done ! 😉

Don, glad to hear your getting some nice fall weather! It will be cool here for today and tomorrow but warming up for the weekend! We are heading north on Saturday and it even looks warm up there also ! It won’t be quite the same without my Ginty ! He loved Vermont and looking out all the windows we have in the family room ! 😒

Some more yard work today down here and then might go and vote early because we will be in the Caribbean on November 5 th through the 20 th !

Hope all have a good day ! 🙏

We kissed frost overnight.
The local vineyards have large fans/windmills to blow the air around so the frost doesn't settle on what hasn't been harvested yet. They were running last night.
Sounds like helicopters all over the place. The nearest one is more than a mile away and I hear it at my place like it's in the backyard.
Starting mixed cloud/sun. Goldshine, as a local oldies station DJ calls it, rest of the day. Going up to 60, very light wind.
Overall warming trend until mid next week. (y)
Maybe I'll get some of the stuff I've been putting off done. I kinda doubt it though.
Play safe.
That PTO is your friend and it can kill you in a blink.

This morning's pic, after multiple H2O2 and antibiotic cream applications. Also 1 amoxicillin last night.

About to dose another amoxicillin before we head out. Wanting him to shower with some tea tree oil soap first.

Morning all, 38 going up to 62, sunny , dry , first frost
Went to school financial aid meeting, learned a few things, but not much.
Probably won't get anything from Gov, so need kid to try and get scholarships and grants.

Glad I pulled in the lime tree as we had our first frost. Will check tomatoes later.

Almost all the planes I worked on were destroyed after the project was shut down. Scrap + parts to other planes. The RF series planes were just put out to pasture. We never had our own tail numbers
Satellites took over most of our tasks. I worked on some of that before I left for the big city.

Prayers for your son Kyle, hope the current methods all work.

Paul/PopGadget - congrats on final inspection !

Might get some more wood moved/split, just need not to strain too much for my eyes. Both are a bit messed up right now.

Harris visit to town made a huge mess of the place. Son went down there and hung out with the pro and con people. He seems to love the politics stuff, ah youth.

Be well,

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 5:45AM. Areas of fog early, becoming sunny this afternoon. High 66F. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 mph.
Up north Red Flag Warnings go into effect tonight lasting until Sunday, with the usual low humidity and high winds taking the stage. I'll probably see PG&E power shutoff warnings start tomorrow.
very nice lunch, bowl of gumbo so big and full of stuff I could only taste my barbecued shrimp poboy before I boxed it to go. Soup was lunch all by itself.
the shrimp was so fresh, crispy, tender
Dang, Drew, I just had to wipe off my chin. Especially after zooming in on the gumbo. Aside from a few glitches, your trip has been pretty smooth so far. Hope it stays that way coming into the home stretch.
I got three barn cars I need to look over, today, tomorrow. ... I need to figure out if they roll, what the mechanics look like and get a price for them. Any clues on what I need to look for mechanically are appreciated.
Anything rubber will probably be shot, so count on new tires before they're road worthy again. Same with the batteries. If the fuel wasn't drained before they were left sitting, the carbs will need cleaning and the fuel lines may need to be replaced, especially if they're rubber. If the brakes haven't been flushed regularly, count on replacing master and slave cylinders and lines. Anything plastic will be brittle, and if left sitting in the sun, faded. Look for corrosion in electrical contacts and connections and in the ignition points. Keep an eye out for mouse droppings, as they can wreak havoc on wires and the smell is wretched work to get rid of. If you're handy and like working on cars, it sounds like a lifetime of enjoyment. But if you don't have a place out of the weather to work on and store them, it's probably better to broker them to someone that does.
I'm looking forward to receiving assistance applying for the OAP and the benefits that come with it. The Fed Gov upped the application age to 67 a few years ago... naturally a year before I hit the old 'age' of 65.
They did the same thing here with Social Security, blaming it on the actuarial tables predicting that people will live longer. The doom sayers are still predicting SS will be broke; when depends on which one you listen to.

Be mindful of creating antibiotic resistant infections with incomplete dosages, Kyle.

Yesterday I got the tile cutter set up in the mezzanine above the garage and cut two tiles to replace ones I broke on the patio table. I had dust flying everywhere and water leaking down through the floor to the garage below, but no damage done. Don't think I'll do that again.

Got the van mostly unloaded, leaving the two empty firewood pallets inside. It goes to the RAM dealer today for a recall and a couple of warranty issues. It will be a new experience for me to use their shuttle service to get back home, especially when compared to freezing my butt off using a dirt bike to do the same up north.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
