Interesting, are they butchering for the animals owner only. Or can the butchered meat be sold by the owners by the pound?This is barn on wife' cousins original farm, that their son now runs. It was in her husbands family before.
I was in back of minivan, so didn't get a good picture.

Their oldest daughter looks like a teenager, but has 6 children. THis is their butcher shop. They just sold off their milk cattle, and the butcher shop is now their full time business. Their little kids that aren't old enough for school were helping wash down the butcher area while we were there, the area left of the door. Off to the right is a beautiful stone house they live in. Absolutely gorgeous area. They butcher pigs, beef, bear, deer, etc, and you can buy meat from them. The rail on the left side, is an overhead lift where they hang them to bleed out, and cut into halves. next to it is a cold storage room to hang halves, they had about 20 in there yesterday ready to be cut up. then they have another cold room to keep cut up meat in, all tagged in bins to identify the owner, and another freezer room behind that.

Their youngest daughter lives in town, and works in local store. She isn't married yet. She was out bow hunting so didn't get to meet her. Didn't meet her son either, he was in the barn milking and we didn't go in, but met his wife and new baby.
For the owner. You can buy a quarter or half from someone and they will cut it. Not sold by pound.Interesting, are they butchering for the animals owner only. Or can the butchered meat be sold by the owners by the pound?
In my state the butcher shops that are state inspected can only do meat for the animals owner. If a farmer is have several beefs cut up to sell by the pound it has to be done through a FDA inspected slaughter house with an inspector on duty the whole time.
