42 going to 53. But sunny finally after about an inch and a half of rain.

Prayers for your brother, Mostly.

Took my wife to town yesterday...to pick up a new coffee grinder and grab some Torchy's queso and tacos. Had a good time strolling around the mall, window shopping for the most part...but it's an outdoor style mall and the cold rain made it seem like November. We shared a bubble tea...never tried one before...strange but good.

good morning, 30 going to 42, colder for sure, felt like 16 around 6:00 AM
But the rain yesterday has made the ground very soggy

Ordered the MIG and Plasma cutter etc. Will leave them unpacked until I have the new welding shop set up. Need to get dryer for the airline. PG what are you using?

Will wait for the ground to dry up some before the stick pickup tour

The freeze is now on the 3 credit companies. Also checked that no-one had inquired about credit. Think it is only good for a year so need to remember to renew

There has been a noticeable increase in spam calls. Not sure if it is related

40 outside right now, may get to 49. Nice breeze/wind looks to be drying stuff out nicely.

Real jobs will consume the day. Family all enroute to our place for staging for the final send off of the FIL this weekend. Trying to get the place in some semblance of order for that.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

wind is really blowing here too, 36 out and wind chill says stay inside

thirteen years ago this date I was getting ready to take a trip in our first motorhome.
first time I loaded that VW TDI on nice Demco hitch I tore the air dam off it.
this was the Winnebago that broke down in Jackson MS on the first big rv trip.
sure wish I knew then what I know now.
but that's not how it works...

Blue Cross just advised me new premium 328 a month, up from 276 and it wasn't long ago it was 178.
wow
plus prescription plan that's $5k a year.
getting more expensive to stick around...
of course the real actuarial cost is more like 15k a year, so
you folks who subsidized the rest, thank you

Good morning, the low is 7 and going to a high of 27°F. Wind N 18 gusting to 30 mph. 40% chance of flurries. Snowing right now and we got 8"+ overnight. Block heater is already turned on.

I'm cancelling the quack appointment. Wouldn't be able to get out the driveway anyway.

I don't start plowing until noon. The guy across the road works graveyard shift, he usually gets himself mobile about 1 P.M. Leaves for work about 2, so I am assuming he works from 4 til midnight and gets home about 2 A.M.

I think this winter has been warmer than the previous 3 or 4. We've had more snow, but not as much deep cold. I have seen us in the past with snowbanks that didn't disappear until late May/early June. It may sound like a contradiction, but in the past we've had more 10 to 16" dumps of snow and not as many 4-8" dumps. It used to be that we'd get a 16" dump and then the temperature would plummet to -40°F. and stay there until the next snowfall. (It would gradually warm up to the mid 20s and then snow again. Then right back down into the deep freeze.) I often wonder how the native Indians managed.

The neighbour with the collapsed Shelter Logic portable shelter has a bunch of rabbits living it it. Good, they will become lunch for one of my cats. One doesn't go out at all, she is old (15 years), the 14 year old tom won't go off the deck, he got a severe scare a few years ago and now doesn't leave the deck. It is only the younger tom (5 years) that hunts.

Time to get moving, more or less.

Have a safe day all

A little insight into how our 'free' health care works. While I was working I paid into the OHIP system (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) through payroll deductions. The employer paid x amount of dollars and I paid x amount. Now that I am retired I shell out on my income tax and additional $600.oo/year for OHIP. The only reason we say it is 'free' is because when we get out of hospital we don't get presented with a huge hospital bill.
So for all those people in Ontario, Canada that are still working, thank you for paying my OHIP.

Good Morning
35° with a high of 40 on tap under a clear sky. No rain for the next couple of days. A welcome change.

Yesterday started in the shop, did some drawings and 3D printing, cleaned and organized, really looking forward to the shed coming tomorrow, that will be the home for all the tubs of alpaca wares that got piled into the shop in the process of building the old folks home.
Eye doctor visit went well, got a new prescription and ordered new glasses. Not an inexpensive proposition with no insurance other than Medicare, it was just over $800 to get out of there. Took son to get his car, and spent some more time in the shop before dinner and odd fellows meeting.

Today will start with breakfast with the professor, my wife will be joining us today, then some paperwork and shop time, FAA physical after lunch, then likely back to the shop.
