The radio that automatically comes on a short while after my alarm clock rings is normally tuned into a bubbly radio channel. Sometimes a bit too lively first thing for my taste, but my wife enjoys the random babble of the presenter, who's non too serious views on life are, I admit, often quite funny.
This morning it had been left on a talk channel. It woke me with news of the killing of those young people in Oregon. That stayed in my head as I set off in the mist to check on the sheep. Within a few minutes I knew it was too thick to do a proper check, but I had just wanted to get out of the house. I can retune the radio for tomorrow, but I know it is not that easy for others. It is so sad to think of so many who, although not directly effected, must have such terrible events in their minds and the parents with a constant dread of a similar event taking place at their local college, however statistically unlikely.
