A muggy 66 right now...bit of fog too. It's pretty overcast too and rain is in the forecast. The predicted high is upper 70's. Glad I got the mowing done yesterday!
My neighbor wants to give my an old Onan PTO generator. I don't recall the output in kW. The problem is, it's not putting any juice out and he (neighbor) thinks a diode had been installed (during a relatively recent repair) wrong. I'll take the generator...see if there's anything that can be done with it without breaking the bank
No other plans today

66 this morning and headed to 84 today. Dense fog advisory out. .31" of rain yesterday.

Another new calf yesterday. Have had 4 in 3 days. Always nice to see. So check cows again today and then plan on taking oldest to the quick care. Acts like his throat hurts. I woke up in the recliner last night and he was in my lap crying. He had been asleep in the recliner next to mine. But went back to sleep:). Normally when he gets up he's up for a few hours. Maybe I'll get to haul some hay today. I need to get hay fields reseeded.

18SEP16 in SE Oklahoma. Raining here this morning.
Got back from fishing yesterday to find a new treasure had been dumped in the yard.

My brother had had enough of it. He had bought it on CL and after showing up the guy had told him everything works it wouldn't start. So he pulled it up on the trailer and brought it home. Thinking it was a low battery. All the normal ways to try to start it and it still crank slowly. So out came the starter and went to be rebuilt. Then come to find out, still slow crank. So out came the crank which was in bad shape so he got it turned and new bearings installed. Then the three point doesn't work.
I fiddled with it last night and adjusted the points and carb and got it to running fairly well idling and took it for a drive. With a Kubota sitting in the driveway, I had to say that driving this thing was fun and brings back some kid days of a hay pasture.
Appears to be a 47 2N (same as 9n). Not really sure what to do with it but since it runs, I can't just let it sit. Not quite as handsome as Drew's new MF huh?

So now I'm searching for rear tires and tubes one is worthless and other not far behind. My god, them tires are expensive! Anybody know a cheap alternative? It won't get worked much from now on knowing me. Just pull the wood trailer around and maybe a mower or cutter occasionally but I only mow about an acre so far.
Since I'm at the house alone, I was out there trying at midnight to decipher the serial number and certain features to determine what it was.
Gotta get chores done so not much tractor stuff today other than putting everything away. I fly out tomorrow and be gone a month or two this time. I'll work on the three point after I get back.

Time for 2nd cup. It looks like the rain let up so a little more internet cruising and get after it.

Good morning! 95˚, this week is suppose to have record breaking hot days, just when I thought Summer was over . . . .

Eric those rocket launchers would be perfect for blasting dead limbs out of trees.

75F and mostly cloudy @ 14:00 ... chance of thunderstorms, Accuweather says rain starting in 37 minutes ...

Was up in the shop pretty late last night (after 01:00) ... got quite a bit done. Late getting up today though.

New pipes on table grate all welded in, welded on a 7" piece of 3/4 solid round to the table grate to allow it to rest on the hitch receiver to serve as additional support when the drawbar is removed, threw some water in the 2nd hydraulic reservoir to leak test the pipe bung I welded in for a drain. Did a little (very little :D) clean up.

Also fabbed up the guard for the log lift side of the unit and got that all welded on. Still need to bend the ends of the round bars on the left towards the back, while I'm down at U.B. for torch work.

Hopefully will keep any large rounds from falling towards the back and destroying stuff.

Pic of the table grate from the front, showing how wide it is:

Today I'm going to work on fabbing up the guard for the engine/operator side, mebbe see if I can't get the hydraulic tank actually mounted and plumbed in (assuming no leaks in the pipe bung tank ... which is probably unlikely ...)

Also need to pull out the gas bottle for aluminum and see if it has anything left in it, so I can fix an aluminum two-wheeler for a friend.

(Edit: Build thread updated with additional pics and info)

... RS like the looks of the splitter. Looks like it is very well designed.
Ed,

Thanks ... a lot of credit goes to Timberwolf for the basic design ... but I still managed to get a few of mine own tweaks in there ... :D

There are a few things I wish I had done differently, hindsight being 20/20 of course ... but overall I'm pretty happy with how it is turning out.

BTW: Happy (belated) birthday !
