44 high of 62 today rain coming in later we can use all we can get

Two motor cycles I've owned Honda 70 and Honda 450 then a long dry spell until I got into ATVs and have had lots of those. As I got older went UTV route much more useful around the house. The dump bed is a real lifesaver
Every time we use I81 it seems to get more crowded, the traffic is horrific

Buppies, our son lives in Front Royal, he tells 81 horror stories a lot, but then he travels 66 daily so...

42 now, 70 later, big rains and wind headed our way once Drew gets his. Not as cool next week as they were predicting.

45 going to 72...another perfect autumn day. Maybe rain tonight and tomorrow.

Drove to SE Virginia for an early morning trip up a tree...had a deer come by while still dark, and then a few more later, but the thrill of the morning was 3 gobblers came in and hung around my tree for 40 minutes...feeding, grooming, and chit-chatting.

After 4 hours, came down, changed clothes, and painted purple stripes on another mile of property line trees for the next 5 hours...almost finished. There are more marbled orb weaver spiders in the woods than I have ever seen. I must have been wearing parts of 20 webs by the time I finished, and I was trying to be careful, backing up when I'd see a web.

The solar company has almost finished placing all the panels on the posts, and they removed some silt fencing for me so I could drive back to the woods.

Sure hope Whipper comes home today.

Haven't had the tractor out in 2 weeks, so will do some bush hogn in the Frisbee pasture one last time and take the bush hog off for the winter.

Autumn colors started out somewhat muted, but have really picked up nicely here now..beautiful.

Try that road on a windy day in a gas motorhome, whoooeeee, hang on. Hard to see the gorgeous sights when you are trying to stay in your lane.
And a lot of big trucks. It's too bad it's so far West for me, I'd love another way to go North, instead of 95 or Delmarva.
I'm going to my brother's in VA for Thanksgiving and would like to avoid 17. Talked about crowded on Black Friday when I'm driving home.

Dry conditions have changed the leaves here but that Skyline Drive must be awfully pretty right now.

Randy it has become a death trap I try to avoid if if I can

Roy did you see Ruger has a limited production Ruger Number One 308?

Drew how about 29 outside of Charlottesville out of the way but less crowded

Drove to South Carolina last night very little traffic outside Greensboro

I81 around strasburg va is my devils triangle. The worst was my wife rolling our car, with the kids in the car. She also broke down once, and i broke down near there. My car also got hit once there.

81 is still much better than I95.

see some country. Life is good...
Head West young Steppenwolfe!
have a wonderful trip

Made good progress on the tractor. Back half had none of the paint problems of front half, this time using
oem paint. Shiny sticky red paint. A few small oversprays, some fisheyes, who knows what got on that tractor in 20 years. I rubbed it in cleaning alcohol, must not
have cut through something odd. Like teflon or something that is really hard to get off. If you can get paint to stick to teflon, I'm buying the next beer for all of you.

Got word today my Everything Attachments cultivator bar with assorted hillers and spikes will be coming next week. Even if I practice on the frozen collards next door, it will get me ready for the Spring. Next Spring, going to do a little farming. Got the orchards in, despite losing so many pecan trees, but I can only do one of these big all consuming projects a year. That nut orchard was and is a lot of work, and now I have to replant about ten pecans in the Spring. But not from the place I got them from last time. I'm heading out with truck and trailer and I'm going to find some pecans with leaves on them. That's an issue for crossing state line. I could get arrested. One of you would have to vouch for me. I'm in trouble. :D And honest fool that I am,
it's even premeditated interstate agricrime. No more shipping, I'm going to do my best to bring some home that I know with my own eyes are alive. Not dormant and possibly dead.
Been there done that.

It's really dumb, if you are buying this stuff, why can't they just spray it before you pick it up, just like I could spray it when I get home. But the latter is NG because the little infectious buggies have already lept into my orchards. They need to be sprayed first. Then I wouldn't have any moral qualms about my interstate agricrime.
Actually, if I rented a small enclosed Uhaul, and when I got home, opened the door and fogged the entire inside with my orchard sprayer, that would do it too.

I've never been in handcuffs. Not going to start now.
Great Job Drew ever thought about the rino liner for the floor?? I did my jeep floors with it turned out great and very durable!!

The low this morning was 24*. Today's going to be in the low 60', with sunny skies and 5-10 wind.

Going up this morning to help a neighbor cut some fire wood. That should only take a few hours. Not sure about the rest of the day.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 6:45AM. 0% Precip. / 0.00 in. Sunny. High near 80F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sorry about Whipper, Don. Once a wanderer, always a wanderer, I guess. Is it too early to start thinking about a puppy?

The trick in the snow seemed to be to keep the bike vertical because if it tipped much to either side, that foot would just slide out and down we'd go. Slow speed, one foot on a peg, the other on the ground sliding along acting as an outrigger for balance worked well enough. Lots of stops to reach equilibrium again, then another go. A better rider might have been standing up on both pegs going fast enough to let momentum do the work, but I don't fall so gracefully these days and take a lot longer to heal, too...

Not much news at the mechanic's yesterday, now he's having trouble getting the right gasket for the timing belt tensioner block he purchased last week. Apparently there are two variations, and Subaru sent the wrong gasket. Late yesterday he was able to get the correct one by purchasing a complete engine gasket set, so at least he's trying. I got a little more wiring done in the engine compartment, but it's getting to the point that the engine really needs to be installed so that the leads going to various points can be tailored properly.

Stopped by my motorcycle buddy's shop to ask about chrome plating and got a steer to a good one. Also picked up the lower fairings and side covers to an upper fairing he'd gifted me with last spring. But best of all he has connections at the local high school that can 3D print a new plastic control panel for the Vanagon's 4WD knobs. Somehow mine got broken into several pieces :muttering: but I was able to find a file on line that is supposed to be good to make another. Fingers crossed on that.

Back to polishing rims today, and if I finish, mount the new tires that arrived yesterday.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
