By the looks also deer been visiting as well.

I saw that but no start or end, seemed out of place. Impossible for deer to get in unless I didn't latch the door. Ten feet high fencing...
but the deer did eat two new large blooming rosebushes down about half way, just ate the whole freaking bush. And then chomped my strawberry patch down to the
nub, and wiped out half the snow peas. Number one priority today is restringing the electric fence wire around the small raised garden near my house. I already have one around my rose garden nearby and it works great.

58 going to 82 and windy again.

Ron, sorry about your friend passing, and Drew, hope yours recovers. Lung cancer stinks.

Beautiful lake and snow pix.

LS, please be careful with that knee.

BEF, I left my landscape cloth on the garden all winter...I had bought some from two manufacturers...one still looks great, the other is in shreds, and cleaning it up is my next chore on the list...the shredded one is the higher priced, "premium" brand. It was easier to put down, but starting ripping before the end of summer.

Drew, not sure a bright green snake is a baby copperhead, at least they don't look like that here. We used to see a few copperheads every summer, but haven't seen one in at least 5 years. Plenty of blacksnakes, garter, hognose, green, and earth snakes, all our friends.

Got up at 2:30am yesterday and drove to SE Virginia to hike into place in the dark to listen for gobblers on the roost. Was rewarded 3 times. I know where I am going Saturday morning, and where my son and DIL are going...opening day. He will go from there down to NC and hunt at my FIL for much of next week. I'll start getting serious on my warm weather projects around here, instead.

Drew, you might have a bear! LOL

Kyle, we are like family, only we chose to be a part.

54-80 today, shorts for me, the ladies deserve a treat!

Got my flower boxes repaired and tilled yesterday, might plant some today.

Prayers for all my friends.

Drew, that bright green snake is likely a, wait for it.....GREEN SNAKE! LOL
Just pickin on you. We use to catch them anytime we wanted to scare the teacher. Now they seem very scarce.

now guys, in my defense, that bright green snake was a very baby copperhead that changes colors and gets darker I was told,
and it was identified by my fireman helper who has lived here all his life. He said the young ones were the worst as they couldn't control
the biting instinct and tried to bite anything. Including you. Which is why it got the shovel. It was mostly bright green and looked like something from a South American
jungle. We have water snakes here too...like in my perpetually two feet full rear ditch, which my landscaper never gets to fixing. Maybe this summer...I took the mowing back from him
not only to save money but to get other things accomplished that just never get done.
And since the next neighbor down the water path cleaned his ditch professionally, I need to get my part cleared out. Of course it starts with me, so not like I'm backing up anyone.
Standing water can only bring bad news, mosquitoes, snakes. though I must admit it makes a very effective moat across the entire property just behind the barn.

26 and going to a high of 39 F. Wind 0. I hope the high temps remove the 2" of snow we got overnight.

Tractor should be back today. All the repairs and changes have been done, but the supplier 'thought' he had the right sub-frame, turns out he didn't and had to order one. It should be in this morning, a couple of hours to put it and the hoe on and top off the hydraulic oil.

I don't think I will be doing much of anything today.

Have a good day all

62 out this AM. Expect 80's today. Overcast, not complaining.

Ed thanks for the prayers. All, thank you too. I see a difference in my SO everyday. She of course is just so impatient with the healing process. I need to remind her of the time since surgery, and of the things she could not do over the last few years. Healing, mentally and physically takes time.

On the homestead, the front that is bringing us this nice weather blew another panel off my shed. Once they go, it's like a sardine can. How many remembers those? LOL. I have got to get up there and do my job, of course my SO is very hesitant about me and roofs. Man do I catch earfuls on ladders and roofs. I also lost all the cheapo screens I made for the barn, so I need to hang them back up this AM.

Buried a squirrel the cat took out last evening. Sigh...had to chase him around the farm to let it go. The cat is brain damaged. It would walk right by the squirrel for what seemed like forever. I guess instinct finally kicked in. I am going to miss the squirrel. I found his great-great-great-grandparents X 2 in my house many moons ago when I was in renovating shape.

I hope all have a great weekend. Be safe, enjoy the warmer weather if it is available to you.

53ーF and clear skies this morning, going up to 79ー today.

Got the zero turn checked out and running yesterday evening. Wife wants to take advantage of the wonderful weather and mow today.

We usually have a fair amount of snakes around during the warmer months. We get plenty of garter and prairie kingsnakes, and the occasional cotton mouth or copper head. Haven't seen any yet this year.

No more snow around our lake this year, but it has been full and overflowing for the last couple of weeks. The view from yesterday evening.

63° and cloudy this morning, going up to 71° today. Expecting some rough weather to roll through the area this afternoon and into the evening. Back to the 40s by Sunday.

May or may not get the chicken coop extension done this weekend, depending on the weather. Congrats on the new chicks, Kyle.

Kevin, yes, there are crappie, bluegill, catfish, and small mouth bass ... as well as entirely too many turtles.
