I can’t remember if I shared it before but here is the rendering of Emily that will get sandblasted into stone. An artist friend made the sketch, then I scanned it and vectorized it so I could cut the rubber mask on the plotter.

Probably a lot of hops from your house

Well David does have several beer kegs...

got the car all packed with stuff for work session at Buckingham Friends School tomorrow morning. I'm taking a lot of my Makita cordless garden tools and happily letting others use them.
Plus i was able to fit the rolling garden cart into the car so that makes it easy to haul all this stuff where it's going.

waiting for my sister to start a zoom with me. Enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
tomorrow will be a long day. Work at clean up day, then check in at church, then get a haircut, then off to help park cars for auction tomorrow night.
Nice weather, we expect a good crowd. Bringing a few of my red cones for car control.

I'm in a hot online auction bidding contest for a small kids step stool, with a small airplane painted on top.
Can you imagine what grandson might like his own plane chair from his grandpop?
Cut off time is 8pm Monday night I think. I'll be logging on a half hour early with a preemptive strike.
No last minute Louise is going to get my stool.

Wind has died down, pretty outside.

41F cloudy wind still howling for the third day.

Got everything done I want to except cutting and cleaning up rooted spruce, yeah I whimp out because of the weather. :(
Stop in for tomorrow equipment etc. auction took walk around, only saw couple items caught my interest but really don't need, number of subcompact and compact tractor darn nice shape with low hours, quick attach grapples front blades brand spanking new also 6 rear mowers...hmmm,had me wondering"If it's to good to believe than....patio stones 18 pallets some going to get heck of deal.
Heading home notice black object standing 100 yards or so from the road, than 3 little object came dashing from the woods mother bear and 3 little ones, sat watch good half hour 1 cub was trouble maker even mom turn quickly push the cub of it's feet...yep cub got some learning you might say.

Guess I better wash behind the ears comb my brush pile put some good threads on for date night.

Enjoy your evening all.

Both our daughters just left about 1:30 p.m. and I'm overstuffed with chicken, all the trimming's, and the biggest cookie you ever saw. They were here to celebrate Margaret and my Fifty-seventh wedding anniversary. They had offered to take us out to eat, but we preferred just visiting here.

Beautiful weather, about 74° this afternoon with just enough breeze to keep it from feeling too hot sitting outside for a bit.
Happy happy anniversary Mr. Bird and wifey!

Took the day off from work, so I could work.

Tried to fix an old fan, it works if not in oscillation mode.

Pulled the last 2 rows of plastic from the garden. Hoed out the weeds between. Now it’s almost ready to till. That wore me out After a little break, went at the shed again.
IMG_4331.JPG

Removed left front siding, lagged the left door to remove the hinges but keeping the door in place. Did it on inside frame this time, so next I can replace the door panel.
Put up new siding.
IMG_4332.JPG

LS, it’s a landscape picture.
Used the last of the painted pieces, so primed 4 1/2 more which took another gallon of primer.
IMG_4337.JPG

Ran out of physical energy to paint them, so a job for tomorrow. Probably have enough paint to do these, then will have to buy another gallon. This will be 1 panel short of doing 3 sides, except the top triangle on sides.
Once the front is done, I want to rip off the front plastic gutter and fascia covering, and put up metal fascia and soffit.

After shower ran to town to pick up creole for supper. Wife has a bad cold and didn’t feel like cooking.

Feet up tonight, I’m wore out.

Good morning.
It’s 40 and going to 55 under clear skies today.

Yesterday was a busy day, while the shearing was going on, I prepared a buffet lunch for the troops in the shop and got all the mowing done. Had to take a break in the mowing to accommodate grandson’s schedule, but we got it all done.
They sheared 41 alpacas and were done not much after 1:00

Managed to get some paperwork done but, by the time I got everything cleaned up it was time to haul the trash and recycling to the street. I managed to get 14,000 steps and 16 flights of steps in before putting my feet up to catch the end of Jeopardy.

Belated congrats on the anniversary Mr & Mrs Bird. We are amateurs by comparison- 48 years coming up in August. Is it just me, or do long marriages seem to be the exception, not the norm these days?

Today will be more paperwork, but I would like to spread some stone in front of the manure bin to make It a bit neater getting in and out with the loader. Then hopefully test it by loading the manure spreader about 20 times to empty the bin. No music tonight, our drummer’s daughter is getting married.

I can’t remember if I shared it before but here is the rendering of Emily that will get sandblasted into stone. An artist friend made the sketch, then I scanned it and vectorized it so I could cut the rubber mask on the plotter.

52F and "Fair" @ 21:00, headed down to a low of 40F overnight. High reached 65.7F today.

Got garden plants uncovered first thing, then brought some plants that were in the dining room (mostly yellow crook neck and zucchini squash) out to the front entryway. That ended up being a good move as they had mostly all popped through the soil by the end of the day probably from the warmth of the sun.

Then I trimmed off old flowers and stalks on the hosta and hydrangea, and gathered leaves and debris from north side of garage hauled up that and dumped it in the compost pile, hauled a dump cart load of screened compost back down.

Used that to make up a full tote of potting soil mix, along with some composted cow manure and peat moss added for good measure.

Then made another trip back up and got another load and spread about half that around the redbud tree on the east side after I weeded it and dug out the rocks. This one isn't looking so good:

IMG_1638 copy.jpg

The one over on the west side is leafing out, but there are no signs on this one that it's even still alive. I'll give it another couple of weeks or so and if nothing probably transplant a volunteer magnolia into the planting hole.

After that I started weeding around the hawthorn behind the pump house then added screened compost. Used the "new" (large) aluminum shovel that I just put a new handle on the other day - I welcome the relatively light weight of it. It ended up taking 3 1/2 dump carts loads and could probably use a little more. Still needs tamped down:

IMG_1634 copy.jpg

Then I took the blue tarp I had been using to cover the plants and pinned it down on the lawn using landscape staples on the east side of the little garden bed area where we transplanted the blueberry bushes a couple years ago.

Following that I collected up the nyjer feeders and their pole and took them to the back basement door for cleaning which I will do tomorrow. I had grabbed the sledge, the level, and 3' piece of 1/2" rebar on my last trip down from filling the dump cart so went to the area over the leach field and sunk that rebar there for the new feeder location.

It was getting late enough at that point I figured I better get the oil change done on the Cub which I did. Will do the pre filter for the air cleaner tomorrow.

After that I took Cub around back and (mostly) dug out the tarp that was lying over in the woods covered by leaves. Will get that one stapled down tomorrow.

Here's a couple of pictures of those hosta that were getting chewed on by the deer that I gave the shredded Irish Spring soap treatment:

Well, it knew where to go look
He was lonely and looking for a wild turkey, but all that we had was Bud Lite.

While we were there a stinging caterpillar dropped down from a tree and stung my wife. After some Benadryl and an hour, the fire sting diminished. I have never seen one like it before, it was 2" long, brown and spiney. She was in too big of a hurry to get it off her I did not get a pic.

Good morning, low temp 36 and going to a high of 57°F. Wind NE 6 mph. Sunny!

I wonder if winter is actually over?

WOW! KFC sure has gone up in price. Almost $43.oo for an 18 piece bucket. I think that bucket will be the first and last for 2022.

I will load up the trailer today for the dump run tomorrow, then flip it upside down and powerwash the bottom off. With it clean maybe the welder can do something with it.
Maybe I will have to break down and buy one myself and do it myself.

Still no sign of the new Z-turn. The check is here waiting for it.

Have a safe day all

Good morning! 40 now, may get to 67 later. Headed out the door to go to Lima, hopefully it doesn’t get rained out.

Everyone stay safe out there!

39 going to 70.

Got down to 32 with heavy frost yesterday...my wife thinks we lost 4 of our tomato plants to it.

Happy Anniversary, Love BIRDS.

Hiked a section of the A/T yesterday. Talked to some thru-hikers...left Georgia in mid February. Beautiful day. Springtime creeping up the mountain and some hikers on a cliff below.
