Don, how has your recluse bite healed? I hope it's all ok now.

There will always be a scar there. It was really bad 3 days after I got bit when I turned red all over and felt like I had a bad flu and the bite turned into a black spot that grew to about 5" in diameter.

Good morning! 70s to 90s. Today is setup at the neighborhood garage sale. We get 4 hours to set up our parking space (which includes a table) at the community center. Tonight there are security guards that watch the place. At exactly 8AM tomorrow the gates open for 4 hours only. 40% chance of rain tomorrow so everything must be covered.

David, bet you are sore this morning. Do we get to see the youtube of when drone meets tree?

Kyle, your son sounds like a fine gentleman.

RNG does weed season decrease the fire season risk?

Yes! The weatherman on the local TV station says it's all about moisture content of the vegetation. Just the little bit of rain we've had over the past few days has dropped moisture content from record levels back to seasonal norms. But since the grasses and weeds are dead, they'll dry out again in the winds that are predicted for the coming weekend, and fire risk goes back up. When the new crop of weeds and grasses starts sprouting, and they already have, they'll be very moist and will stay that way until next spring's last gasp when they're all dried out again.

Spent a couple hours up a tree.

Your story has somewhat quenched my interest in a drone, David. At least you had your wife on hand to call 911, and very happy that wasn't needed. Ever thought about wearing a climbing harness and letting her belay you when you go arial?

Don, I had forgotten your spider bite and it sounds terrible.

It reminded me of a photo my wife had taken back in June. She found a mud dauber nest under a chair on the porch and knocked it off. When it fell and broke open, she found its chambers filled with black widow spiders...I think she counted 9 of them. We decided to leave them alone if they were that good in hunting and killing them.

We occasionally find them out in the yard and field edges under rocks or wood or just about anything solid. I most often wear leather gloves if I am moving or picking up stuff.

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 4:45AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 71F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Sounds like you and your wife are doing a wonderful job raisin' yer kids, Kyle. And teachin' 'em to deal with so many unfriendly critters, too; that's gotta keep you on your toes!

Got the crash bars painted for the old BMW yesterday, and moved them back inside just before a rain shower came through. Drove the van into town with the oxygen and acetylene cylinders strapped to the sides and didn't have any problems that way, but it's still cutting out at about 67 mph on the freeway. No response on what that might be, so now I'm researching a scanner app and OBDII adaptor that might shed some light on what's going on.:confused2:

Getting ready to send the *second* set of *wrong* gear pullers back to the supplier. I hope the third time trying to send the right one will be the charm.:banghead:

Good help's hard to find, huh Drew?

TGIF gang!:drink:

You're braver than me, Wng! I believe in live and let live, but when it comes to poisonous insects, spiders and snakes, they don't belong near the house and they get the spray bomb or the shovel. Last year wasps built a nest inside the BBQ; was real fun finding out about that, almost as much fun as when they built a huge one under the cap that protects the LP tank gauge. The black widows hide anywhere it's dark and cool, and I've learned like you to wear gloves and stay alert if I have to poke around those kind of places. Glad I don't have to deal with a crawl space under the house anymore.

Just to be clear, we leave the mud daubers alone, not the black widows.

Good help's hard to find, huh Drew?

I admit scratching my head how an allegedly experienced mechanic can remove a set of blades, get the feel and weight of the blade, and then put on an identical (first time) set of blades that were clearly smaller, and not notice. They are smaller and lighter.
and then....I bought the mower there. I had already bought a set of replacement 72 inch blades there. Yet the mechanic is sent out with the wrong size blades not once but twice. It reminded me of your trials with your mechanic RNG.

I no longer trust my local Kubota dealer and am actively looking for a tractor from another brand.
The dealer is simply out of control and it's sad to me, they're nice people but three or four times in a row over several years
they have returned equipment with bad work done. It gets fixed, but I'm doing more of my own maintenance
because I don't trust them to do it. I need to trust a dealer and this was the final straw.

thankfully the Kubota is very reliable and all major services have been done. 550 hours I think.
I started another thread called inching control, in the hopes of doing less whining about hooking up implements.
I have Massey, NH and Deere in town too. Always thought a T4-75 was a fine looking tractor. Or a Massey 4707.
I'd trade my Kubota and my larger Massey in if I could get better/easier on my arthritic hands implement hookup.

Christmas is coming, isn't it? :D
