My health insurance paid. When I went for the first one I didn’t go to the doctor first. Just went directly to CVS.

They should have accepted your insurance for both shots. Shingrex doesn't require a prescription. Confirmed that with my pharmacist when I got my flu shot and Boostrix shot today.

Maybe you can send the receipt, for your first shot, to your insurance for reimbursement?

So, big learning point here if you put 60 inch blades on a 72 mower, the results will be poor. Duh.

Your blade tip speed with the 60" blade is 8,482 feet per minute
Your blade tip speed with the 72" blade is 10,178 feet per minute
(Assuming your PTO speed is 540 and gearing is direct) About 20% difference.

Spent a couple hours up a tree. Yesterday i managed to stick my drone in a tree about 46 ft above the ground. This morning we went back to recover. My extension ladder got me to a nice sturdy branch about 16 ft up. No way i could make it up to location. After a few attempts, my extendable paint pole with extended pole pool plus wife’s handicap sock aid (has hook) resulted in a pole 30+ ft that i managed to thread thru upper branches and eventually dislodge drone. Couldnt believe how well it was caught. Glad i was able to sit on that branch rather than balance on the ladder, but all that arms over head stuff took its toll. I was toast by the time we finished.

Drew, i suspect the smaller blades might have left an interesting pattern.

I can vouch for that! Five weeks on and still having some pain and numbness.

My mom too. She's having lingering pain for months. I hope you get better soon.

Rick I have AT&T, do you also?

I do. Nothing on iPhone...... nothing on iPad.

I heard some Apple products had issues???

Crazy day.

My FIL has decided to buy a new side x side. The Deere dealer has offered to give him back his money he bought the Kubota with and apply it to a new model. After pouring over the specs, he called me and has upsold himself to a nice one that doesn't have a HVAC cab. I went and looked at it and it really is nice. I wanted him to buy a yamaha, but the trade in Kubota kind of forced the deal. Anyway, yamaha doesn't really build anything as nice as this Deere he's decided he wants. And right now, Deere has 2 rebates, 0% for 4 years, so he got a pretty good deal. Still expensive these things are. He and I have decided that you really don't need a hydrostatic tranny on a side x side. (these are our opinions after owning and being around many brands). Also, no sense paying more for a noisy diesel that has less power. Way less power in Deere's case. Deere now sells extended warranties based on hours of use. Since we put low hours on a unit, he was able to get an additional 3 years for about $400 no deductible, plus the insurance that Deere financing makes you buy was only $60 per year. Covers theft, crashes, vandalism, storm damage etc... He went and test drove it today and was amazed at how nice and smooth it was. 54 horsepower, 45 mph. Getting it purchased will depend on how fast Deere financing gets his application verified.

Critter day.

My wife killed a spider in the house that may have been a brown recluse...Never have seen one around here before. We have those large wolf spiders that may take care of them? Then I get home from work and kill a scorpion in the barn near where I'm working on my back under the lawnmower. Then my middle daughter comes and gets me and tells me she has locked a chicken snake inside the chicken coop. So it's been a spider/scorpion/snake killing day. This was the 3rd snake I've had to kill for getting in the coop. It had 3 eggs in its 40" long body.

Fortunate dad for having such a good son.

A few days ago, my 8 year old's teacher told us she had selected my son to be "knighted" at school. He was also knighted in 1st grade. There are about 12 kids out of 600 that will be knighted. This will be his surprise tomorrow. Today, the vice principal came into his classroom and presented him a Whataburger hamburger coupon because his bus driver selected him as the most kind and courteous kid on the bus. Then also today, his teacher says that he was instrumental at helping the class get 20 special tickets (only given by other teachers) for being the best minded class. They get to have a party now with 20 tickets, and this class was the first class to reach the 20 ticket goalpost. He also got elected as co-class president a couple of weeks ago. They had to have "co-presidents" so they could have one girl and one boy.

Lawnmower smoke.

I finally got the belt in place with new pulleys (from Ebay) and when I tried it out, I didn't have enough tension so it started smoking the belt after about 50 feet....turn off, push back into barn. I don't have the service manual so I wasn't sure how to check the tension. It is a fairly complicated system...changing the belt might could be done in an hour with experience....Anyway I ended up having to jack both ends up in the air, and get my oldest daughter on it to start and operate the different foot pedals, while I watched from underneath, to get the tension sorted out. Too tight and it squeaks the system, too loose and the belt slips. I test rode it and it worked fine and now need to clean up the deck and sharpen the blades...Tomorrow. Oh yes, almost forgot, the reason all this started was from fuel starvation, which turned out to be a rubber bushing that holds the pickup tube in place in the fuel tank. It was eaten up from ethanol. The fuel lines looked OK, but I put new ones in place and a new fuel filter. One thing leads to another.

Have a blessed day all.

Don, how has your recluse bite healed? I hope it's all ok now.

YOU???,not exactly a comfort zone for a 71 yo, and my helper is 70. A couple of onlookers were a bit younger though.

Gloomy here this morning, I had forgotten just how dark October mornings are once the the cloud thickens.

I'm hoping the rain will hold off while I bring in the last of the ash rings I split yesterday. The pieces are still not small enough to burn, I have just got them down to a size I can pick up and put into a wheelbarrow to move a few yards before throwing them into the field, then collect with tractor. Never before will a tree have warmed me so many times before seeing the woodburner :)

Kyle, you have good reason to be feeling really proud of the knight. Your dad's $60 insurance sounds a real bargain, but 45 mph in a side by side ! If I had a side by side and tried even half that speed across our uneven fields, I expect I would be making a claim before the day was out

David, pole saws from the ground are hard enough work, without being sat on a branch. What you really need is a second larger drone to free the first, with one of these trailing Helicopter, air saw trimming trees - YouTube

Good morning all, 68 going to 74 with a 20% chance of showers. Piddled on some things around here yesterday. The Gov. requires we have the hot water temp between 110 F and 100 F witch is not hot water, only warm. I took a shower with only "hot" and still wished it was a little hotter. The stupid thing is the boy has never turned on the water so he is protected. Thinking of checking on a 9mm auto today. Just something to have here if needed.

Wow, you guys sure have busy and in Davids case exciting lives.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed
