Good evening all. 57F for the start, 61F for the high, 1 inch rain today, more on way tomorrow. Low water #2 closed, with the amount of rain in forecast not sure if it will open this week :(. Went to town for errands and shopping, got back at 4:30 no nap and no ride. Took dog for walk then met stepdaughter and handed him over, she texted later and said he want another walk  Texte Saturday ride group and asked if anyone had extra floatie for ride, no response yet.
Ron hope you are healing with no morning coffee.
Harv, a prevous pickup I had to do brakes on had deep grooves on the rear drums. was a real pain to gret drums off.
Buckeye, have fun camping:drink:
prayers for all.

Making progress on my beer cabinet.
Decided best approach was to install a drip pan under the cooler/cabinet.
So i crafted one today from aluminum sheet. Approx 20.5x19x3, which according to Siri handle about 5 gallons. Interesting as i don’t have a break or really much for sheet metal tools. Reaching way back to HS shop class, i drew out template and then made paper models to get cuts and bends right. I think i want to install a fan to aid evaporation, something like Universal AC 11V-24V Ball Bearing 8x8x25mm Brushless Computer Cooling Fan | eBay . Question is how to control. Some sort of moisture/leak switch? any ideas?

I was going to suggest the float switch from a bilge pump but I don't think you want an inch of water standing in the pan waiting for the float to get high enough to turn the fan on.

Good point, would like something requiring lesser volume.
Tried researching what a self defrosting refrigerator uses but didnt find anything. I guess i could go with a timer.

Lots of water detectors have remote probes (resistance or capacitiance sensing), which could go in your tray - just have to be careful the probe isn't fooled by the aluminum.

Evaporative cooling by fan will be more effective if your drip pan surface area is increased, eg. sprinkle on a little sharp sand. May be able to put the probe tip in the sand too, then fan will come on as soon as moisture is detected, without it having to form a puddle in the bottom.

Humidistats are another option if you have enough air space - the type intended to turn a fan on in a bathroom when someone has a shower.

Or a plant pot probe ?

Good morning all. Rain helped by strong gusts of wind has done it best to soak our firewood over night. No need to go lighting fires in woodburners though this morning, it was 18C/64F outside at 8am.

I have lots of hedge laying coming up this winter. Enjoyed doing it last year, but my right arm wasn't too impressed with all the pull starts on my Stihl chainsaw and I'm getting too old to do it all by hand tools, so thought I would give battery power a try and maybe apply to join the TBN EGO appreciation society. Sounds at first like a toy, but cut down these alder just the same as my 2 stroke.

50 after a brief shower just passed through...should see the sun and 62 later.

Eric, sorry to here your Stihl is uncooperative, but glad the Ego worked well.

Randy, are you guys driving over to TN or flying? Sounds like you have a good vacation planner...get 3 weeks worth but only have to pay for 6 days. :)
