it is a testimonial to Dupont that the refrigerated pie crusts I used to make this apple pie
still functioned after being outside the best use date by, ahem, ahem, a year and a half.
This is what happens when you live along and there are no fridge police...
Pie crusts were still soft and pliable, if a bit sticky, I just figured I'd cook it a little extra so that if there were
any aliens in there, well they'd be well baked. And so I did.
But first I liberally sprinkled cinnamon on top, sort of like dousing the madame with perfume...
Even if I have to scrape off the top, I know the insides will be just fine. Used half the normal sugar, butter, flour, nutmeg, vanilla and cinnamon; no way that will taste bad. But I exercised caution and decided to let it cool. Gotten a few nice tongue burns not following
that advice before. Twice burned and learned.
