Drew which Doors album?

I have a best of, which I suppose is cheating.
As the pelting rain bears down on me, and I'm
hurrying back to the barn,
I can be humming "Riders on the Storm" :D

never got to the Kubota today, instead mowed the steep hill with my Gravely and boy does
that thing give me a workout. And one million gazillion grasshoppers jumped on me.

Afternoon all. I have office relief today and had to come in early. I am just now getting around to booting up. Got most of the front mowed yesterday. Last week when I got my new mp3 player from Newegg, I was excited about trying it out on the tractor. I found out the only way you could hear it at all was to press the earbud into your ear with your finger. Only have two hands, and have to use one of them to steer, so that wasn't what I had hoped for. Then I saw a pair of Sony sports earbuds on Newegg for $10 with a $10 MIR. If the rebate works, they will only cost me the $2.99 shipping. Got them in on Wednesday and tried them out yesterday. They have a soft rubber or plastic collar that seals out much of the tractor sound. I was able to hear Robert Earl Keen sing 'Not a Drop of Rain' as I dodged thundershowers. Had two pretty big thunderstorms in the afternoon. It rained an inch and a half.

Good afternoon all. Back from ICT a whole lotta rain going on there. Temp was 71F this morning high was 82F and cloudy 20% chance of rain. Trying to get back on track after helping move for day & 1/2 of helping move and travel back and forth.

We were supposed to get 1"-2" of rain today, it's been in the 90's and humid and sunny all day! You never know.

Got another hour of mowing, been sprinkling on and off all afternoon

My tractor shed expansion saga continues. Checked with HD and can't say definitively if my doors are on a boat yet, but they did make it to the consolidator.

So, no doors, but my openers arrived today. Opted for 2 CHAMBERLAIN WD962KEV 3/4 HP GARAGE DOOR OPENER BATTERY BACKUP MyQ TECH off ebay. Free shipping, no tax, $35 each cheaper than same unit at HD. Now if I only had something to open. LOL

Good Morning! 81˚before sunrise, the hottest morning of the year!!!! A northern cool front will be here by noon and we are looking at a high of only 98˚, Yea!!!! Best of all the north wind will push this African dust into the Gulf of Mexico.

This string of 100˚ and scorching sun did a job on my pool vinyl liner. Right above the water line where the water does not cool it and the sun reflects off the water the vinyl burned and turned brown on the east side of the pool. Yesterday we fixed it with 43 - 4'X9" vinyl adhesive tiles.

Today I looking into placing thee 20'X20'X20' shade sails using 5 poles to shade the pool. This will be a fun project.

(The pictures below show the completed project before adding water, the tiles need to cure 24 hours.)

Cloudy and very heavy outside this morning with more rain and t-storms on the way high in the 80s. Got another 1/2 in of rain yesterday got soaked at work but still got done. The job we did yesterday was installing a new product that the producer or our company had ever installed, it's called porous asphalt and is placed on 57s which is a very unstable base. Water runs thru the asphalt not over it more environmentally friendly.

Poured my second cup of coffee. 58° with clouds this morning. Heading to 76° with mostly sunny skies all day. Bike riding on local trails and some more visiting with good friends.
Jim: Will put it on our to do list for next spring.
Drew: No problems with the drive. Every one parks on the lawn. Pads are recommended but not required.
Good Morning All.

Buppies, good morning. No way that would work in a freeze-thaw area like us, wouldn't the ice wreck the surface?
Now in a Southern state, sounds like a good way to make an impervious surface somewhat porous.

Drew not an expert on this product but the porous asphalt is placed on eight inched of 57 stone with a drainage system under that to remove the water. The freeze thaw cycle that we have teens to fortys will not affect it. This product is used all over the country. The asphalt is a virgin mix no recycled material in it at all. The stone is all number 8 in size no sand or fines and binder and because of the base(57s) it is placed with a tracked paver. It can only be rolled twice then final compaction with a plate tamper. Because of its porous nature water runs through it instead of over it and filters thru 57s to drainage system below

Our area is also known to get down as low as minus 12, the last time it did that was 1977 the year my lovely wife and I got married. Just seems like yesterday by the way

60 degrees right now and a very pleasant morning. We did get a moderately strong showers yesterday, but today looks to be clear.

good morning got 1/4" of rain overnight and looks like more on the way. good day to pack bearings and replace starter on my old truck. we were going to the festival but weather to unstable and these storms are bad with lot of lightning. Buppies do you like the new asphalt or no? don't sound like it will work to well. i'm with Drew what is going to happen when the water freezes while in the asphalt? very interesting

   / Good morning!!!! #13,175
Sam because it was new to the producer as well his paving crew and mine were put together as one large group. We layed the asphalt they ran the screws and rolled it. After the first rolling it looked like an ocean wave. The mix came to the job at 275 degrees which slightly cooler than normal. Temperature could not be hotter as it would wash or melt binder off of the number 8s. You and Drew make good points and I will ask that question today and report back with answer later on

We put down 125 tons of it so that's not really enough for me to have an opinion of it yet, time will tell if I get to install any more. For this provider he does not have a tracked paver so maybe

I got my rain yesterday afternoon and a 3 hour power outage to boot. 3/4" of rain for a 3-hr outage is not a bad trade. It's 73 F here this morning before 8 AM and is not supposed to get higher than 88 F all day. If that turns out to be true, it's a banner August day for sure.

Gettin' stranger and stranger out here... 58* this morning! Come on, this is the desert in August :confused2:

0830, sunny 81 with 87% humidity. {Blountstown weather. I'm already at work} Forecast for a high of 93 with 50% chance of rain. No rain yesterday. First time in a while. If it doesn't do it today, I will have to remember to turn soaker hoses back on in the morning.

I've got two family reunions today, one black family and one white. But southern food is just about the same, whatever color the hands that prepare it. Look forward to sampling from both. One is for dinner, the other suppertime.

Also have Pee Wee football signups. Not looking forward to chasing the little hellions out of my flowerbeds.
