1/2" of rain in 30 minutes just after sunset yesterday. Ruined my plans for an early mowing. So I went and finished a job for mom that I started yesterday. Now it's time to mow. Have a good day folks.

Our farmer dug a few purple sweet potatoes yesterday for us.
Sliced 1 thin and fried on grill - yum
Added one to my Vitamix hash for breakfast - yum

Good afternoon all. Lake cleanup this morning helping tile the new tub this afternoon. 84F and weather.com has declared 84 the high and sunny.

Good Morning! 81˚before sunrise, the hottest morning of the year!!!! A northern cool front will be here by noon and we are looking at a high of only 98˚, Yea!!!! Best of all the north wind will push this African dust into the Gulf of Mexico.

This string of 100˚ and scorching sun did a job on my pool vinyl liner. Right above the water line where the water does not cool it and the sun reflects off the water the vinyl burned and turned brown on the east side of the pool. Yesterday we fixed it with 43 - 4'X9" vinyl adhesive tiles.

Today I looking into placing thee 20'X20'X20' shade sails using 5 poles to shade the pool. This will be a fun project.

(The pictures below show the completed project before adding water, the tiles need to cure 24 hours.)

Don, I'd love to see pics of your shade project. I've been looking at shade solutions myself but I can't really afford anything expensive. You won't believe what some of the professional companies charge for a 40x40 playground shade canopy. $$$ I told them "No, I can buy a finished barn for that much"....

No engineer here, but I would think so. I suspect there are tables on the internet that could answer that. Guess wind load would be the factor?

As for sourcing, locally we have a place called Central Supply. I tend to think of them as mostly Plumbing type fittings, but they also have conduit etc. In the past, I have bought 21ft lengths of 4 inch sched 40 that are the supports for my tractorshed roof, but also many many lengths of various PVC - water, drain, electrical, etc. Knowledgeable people too.

Morning all!

Yesterday I picked up a free metal swingset from another homeschool family and hauled it out ot my place. A buddy and I put it up and I hope the kids like it, especially the 4 year old. Took a lot longer to set up, level, dig in, etc than is did to take it down.

Good Morning! 79˚ heading to 100˚, The cool air was a tease, instead of 100˚ at sunset it was 91˚ yesterday. No rain. I long for the nip of cool in the morning....

Mowed the field and about half the lawn. I'll finish that today. I think I'll take the .22 Marlin 39 and do a bit of plinking down in the field, if the weather stays as nice as yesterday.
