Drew good to hear your on top of your skin cancer.

Randy thanks for the update sorry about the ER visit but good to hear Na levels staying closer to normal.

My trash costs $45 for 3 months. Can't burn leaves but neighbor takes what I don't put on garden. Can burn branches, have about 2-3 burns a year. My in-laws have had several big clean-ups after buying property, good to hear not much trash dumping/burying going on.
We pay $57 every 3 months, I live a mile from a transfer station and we can buy a dump sticker for $55 a year for two vehicles and take anything from the household except appliances, a/c units and tires. They have one day a year when you can take up to 6 tires free, and there is an oil/anti freeze recycling center at the main landfill. I always have the stickers, but don't go that often.

I think we are on our way to a heat wave here. Just since I got up the temps are now up to 5 deg and rapidly heading in an upward trend.

15 here, and not getting much warmer. Much colder than average for this time of year, this is what we usually get in January. As far as our trash around here, mostly private. One result is that we have problems with folks dumping on rural roads. I've caught a couple of folks over the years, they aren't real happy getting burned.

It's 29 with rain/sleet and snow.

My big deal with trash is the beer bottles and cans that litter my road.

Usually 12-15 a week.

Drinking and driving. I would say same person, it's the 16oz Bud's.

Scary that we share the roads with people that do this.

Yep. Beer cans and bottles, or those pre-mixed Smirnoff-type bottled drinks. I see fast food trash along our road that I'd guess comes from the same one or two knuckleheads. Our five-cent deposit helps a little. If nothing else, it makes it worthwhile for someone to pick up the littered containers. Unfortunately the guy that used to comb the roads around here was killed by a vehicle while walking along the road a few months ago.

I think it's really a small number of people that account for most of the litter.

Still have to hook up BBQ to main tank. You would think that park would trim the pad and walkway. But no. :confused3: They save it for me and other residents to do. :( Then someone walks by. Have to say hello and give the last years reports. Next thing you know. The list gets move to another day. :D

Isn't that the definition of retirement?:D

I bet there would be some interesting stories here of the strangest thing that ran out from under a piece of equipment.
Isn't that little armadillo cute?

Drew, I generally don't worry about the things that run out: cats, 'coons, armadillos, mice, etc.. What I worry about is the things that make a ticking sound as I hook up the 3PH and PTO to my cutter. There's nothing quite so warm and comfy for a cold-blooded reptile as under the deck of a rotary cutter. Now that my hearing is going, I hook up the 3PH while keeping my eyes open and scanning. Then I lift the mower deck and drive a few feet before hooking up the PTO. It ensures none of our cats, rattlers waiting to strike, or other animals are not under the deck. When I first engage the PTO, I don't want to see fur fly.

Good Morning. 0955, cloudy, 66* with 95% humidity. Forecast high of 77*. It was foggy out when I drove Margie over to Bristol. She is headed to Longboat Key for the week. If it is like most of her trips, all she will see of the beach is the view from the room. They keep them pretty busy with training.

When I was growing up we always had a garbage hole where you burned your trash. There was a county dump for bigger stuff. The dump has been closed for years now. When we lived in Blountstown the city did the trash pickup. Out here in the country it is a private company. Ours is on Thursday morning, so that is why I post all the sunset pictures from Wednesdays, walking the trash out to the road.

Only plans for the day is to catch up on my sleep, and help my BIL unload a chicken pen from his truck. It is made from 3/4" plywood, and is about 10' long. Sister has a gimpy shoulder, and it's just a little too heavy for her.

We also have one major culprit. His is Coors lite six pac bottles bought at Wallmart litters between 1 and 5 PM each day.

Since we live near a boat ramp, our roadside trash is much worse in the summer. Our house is on a crossroads, so we have 1/4 mile on both roads to pickup. At the old homeplace it's the same thing, but with land on both sides of the road along one part of it. Luckily our river-field is at the end of the road, so there isn't as much traffic by it.
