Good morning!!!!

Good Evening. 1830, light rain, 62* with 90% humidity. Forecast low for tonight is 36* with 80% chance of rain, and a high of 38* tomorrow. Monday night's forecast low is 20* and Tuesday's high is 33*. I think that will be our coldest of the year to date. But we had a very nice day today. Margie and I took a walk through the longleafs, and when we got out to the road and saw Sister burning a brushpile, we walked over to visit with her. It was a good day for burning, there being no wind to speak of.

Midas and Mocha were soaking up the warm weather too.

I hope everyone had a good weekend, and your team won.

What do you have to pay those two to pull guard duty like that? Shouldn't one be facing the other direction? :)

Midas {cat} is the better watchdog of the two. He is always looking and listening. If I could just teach him to bark:D
Midas got run off the front porch by the other cats for being mean to kittens. He started going up trees in the back yard to get away from the old tomcat, and soon him and Mocha were the best of friends. Now he has his own food dish without having to worry about any other cats. {he's the fattest cat we have} He stays gone most of the day, but when he's in the back yard, the two of them are together like that.

Lots of little birds are swarming the bird feeder full of sunflower seeds. The big red cardinal looks like a monster compared to the little fellers. Even a woodpecker comes to visit occasionally. The little birds can sure clean out that feeder in a hurry. Out in the woods, I see birds everywhere. It's a clear, sunny day and birds flying in the woods cause flashes of reflected light, giving away their presence.

Well Larro, they seem to be best buds, just lounging around, probably would be online if you gave them a couple of Ipads...

great pic

if only critters could speak...

As they say on Babe, that'll do pig, err, Mocha.

It is 12* here, and may drop another degree or two before the sun comes up. I'm off to my barn, then a friend's barn for some work today. I hate to break it to you guys, but until this weather warms up, or I am back in front of the fire in the fireplace, I now fit the description of "frigid b*tch".

I MISS SUMMER!!!!

Sit back, close your eyes, and dream it's about 101 degrees outside.

You push your Cub out of the hangar. After pulling through prop a few times and setting the chocks, you turn on the mags and walla, 1st pull.

You climb in and buckle up. It's so hot, you just leave the doors open. You don't even go to the end of the runway to do your preflight runup. Firewall it. It takes an extra hundred feet to get airborn due to the heat.

Gently you climb up to about 3000 feet, enjoying the free air conditioning. You just level off and cruise. The warm updrafts have corn shucks pirouetting around at 3000 ft. You dodge a few buzzards also taking advantage of the warm updrafts. After the day's sweat has evaporated with the nice refreshing cool off flight, you notice the sun is about an hour from sunset, you float back to ground zero. A bit of crosswind has you touch your left tire down first on the grass runway. Smooth as silk. Keep the stick back. Roll up to the hangar. Tap the left brake to spin the plane 180 degrees so that you can put her tailfirst back in her hangar.

Let her cool down a bit while you piddle with small things. Fill her up with avgas to be ready for the next flight. 5 gallon jugs are heavy. Mental note to get the diaphragm pump for a 55 gallon drum.

Now, go get some more firewood. Pour yourself another finger or two of brandy in your snifter, and get ready for the next dream....

It up to 40* here. That is 1* higher than the forecast called for. I got out early and got all the outside faucets dripping, and put out extra cat food in the sheds and pump house. We have a cat door in the pump house, and there is a small gap where the two sheds go together that the cats can get through. If they are smart they will stay out of the weather. I'm going in to work early so my boss can go home. She doesn't do well with cold.
