42? I wish...more like 32 to 34 here, and the same high but different lows for the next four days.


Does anyone not consider this "active" weather any more? Or are we just imagining things...ok, we had the most snow, but by a few inches
or a few feet?

Have to spend the morning with the attorney doing a new will, medical POA, all that depressing but necessary stuff.
After what i went through with Nadene, boy is there going to be a big DNR placard on my file...
I have had many lifetimes full of hospitals. At some point, and I can literally and figuratively, one has to take a sweet sail
off into the sunset. After a last stop at Key West to hear Jimmy Buffett sing...maybe Saving Grace?
enough of that, boy doing those medical POA's really gets your head spinning.
all the what if's...

just ordered a mini freezer for the motorhome so I can take some home made food along with me; I'll fill it up with Tupperware.
Maybe I should bring the food vac machine along and I can freeze local stuff as I go along. Hmmm. I clearly have more thinking to do.
Four months on the road...I am not eating pizza every night nor am I going to "eat out" every night. I know how to cook and actually like to cook so I just have to containerize the leftovers. i think I'll ask Ron these things on another thread...

Philadelphia (CNN) -- First came the whiteout conditions, then the blackouts.

Utility companies scrambled to restore power to the Northeast early Friday as hundreds of thousands shivered in the dark.

The powerful snowstorm moved out of the Midwest on Wednesday and into the Northeast a day later. It whacked a string of states along the way, dumping 13 inches of snow in Kansas, more than 10 inches in parts of Massachusetts and 4 inches in New York.

And there was ice too in some areas. It snapped tree limbs and downed power lines, causing massive blackouts.
Winter far from over

In Philadelphia alone, electric provider PECO said about 319,000 homes and businesses were without power early Friday. In Pennsylvania's Chester County, some traffic lights were powered by portable generators, CNN affiliate KFW reported.

The vast majority should get their power back by Friday while others may have to wait until Sunday, company spokeswoman Debbie Yemenijian said.

and my elderly MIL is one of those 300K without power, my portable gen is over there roaring away, luckily managed by my BIL; I said no way could I pick up
five gallon cans of gas with my hand in stitches. I better not tell him my stitches are out...

Happy Friday guys! Joanie has her last rad treatment today, so we stopped and bought 2 dozen donuts at the dunkin place. We thought that she would be getting 35 treatments, but that turned out to be a worst case estimate. So this is mostly behind us. Now we. Need to go on vacation!!!

I have an event on the books, but they haven't paid their deposit. So after lunch I will know if I really have the night off. If I do, Margie and I will go out to eat in Marianna and do a little shopping tonight. I went through this last Friday, and the lady came in and paid at the last minute, so you just never know which way it will go. ARPITA.

300UGUY, that is great news. You guys take a week or two and go somewhere warm.
Drew, if you swing by the Larro Ranchero this summer, I will feed you all the peppers and cantaloupe you can eat. {the yin and yang of gardening?} I bought a little hand planter, so the plan is for a small pea patch as well. But even if mine don't make, my cousin always has a big garden.

Off to Hilo town later, getting another 16 solar panels to help power the hot tub. This will increase my system significantly from 6.04kw to 10.04kw. Amazizing just how much cheaper these new panels are compared to 2006. 2x the power at 1/3 the price.

let's see, how many shades of green are there? mildly envious green. seriously envious green. I'm on the next flight green...

and since we are into beautiful scenery, well I have something that honestly doesn't quite make it.
but it certainly is appropriate in many Northern areas right now.

now when you come out to start your car, just be sure to look forwards first. You may have an overnight visitor
looking for the warm spot you left when you got home from dinner out last night.
