1*F and partly cloudy. Maybe an inch of snow here tonight.

Spent a couple hours yesterday trying to sort out the differences between Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplemental, and Medicare Part D Drug plans. I think I'm beginning to understand them a bit.

Morning all, 16F here with snow falling. Luckily no wind so the drive into work was not bad at all. Heading to sunny skies and 22F this afternoon.

It's cold and dreary, again. Didn't even look at the forecast, it is what it is.
Our guernsey cows use to calf anywhere from November to April. That was in northeastern North Carolina. It cold there in the 50's and 60's, much like the weather here now.

Poured second cup of coffee. 53° with fog this morning. Heading to 77° with clouds and some sun. Yesterday was first day we have seen any amount of sun in a week. It was enough to clear up what felt like a cold coming on. Long range forecast looks like we should be getting back to normal winter weather in south TX.
Good Morning All.

30F and cloudy. Yesterday's forecasted snow turned out to be just some flurries. Wishing that for you guys that already have enough with more forecasted.

Thomas, enjoy that first meal - regardless of how good it really is, will probably taste like the best you've ever had.

nice little fast Clipper headed our way, currently in Indiana thru Western PA, probably get here mid to late afternoon.
one inch max, maybe one I can use the leaf blower on...
might catch parts of VA and Maryland
just a nice winter afternoon where most of us don't have to do anything but throw on another log.
It is a day of rest...
not for farmers with animals though.
In 1959 my grandfather wanted to do something for us grandkids as we were still young, but growing up.
We were told we could have the front 30 acres fenced in, and have animals, if we would take care of them and understand
the very long term commitment that meant. Or we could have a swimming pool.
Since my younger sister was not into horses, well let's say we all learned to swim well.
And we all worked, all had afternoon or weekend jobs, well, except for my sister.
But to jump into that pool in the early sixties after ten or eleven
hours of mowing lawn on the farm, well,
that was the Nestea plunge of the day.

so we never had big animals, just big dogs and a variety of unsocial and sometimes psychotic cats.

Today? once I settle down for good, maybe a Llama. or a giraffe...
just has to be the right climate for them. I'm not building a special high rise barn for a giraffe in the winter...:D

Good Morning. 0905, clear, 50F with 94% humidity. Forecast high of 68F and a low of 43F. Looks like it is going to be a repeat of yesterday. I had to buy a battery for my truck, and I need to get it put in. I tilled up the garden a couple of days ago, and I'm thinking of making it a little bigger this year. If I decide how much bigger, I might do that today. We were going to ask Mamma and Sister over for dinner, but neither one is answering their phone. They will be mad if they miss out on Margie's meatloaf, honey glazed carrots and bacon wrapped green beans.

Everyone have a good day.

More flipping snow here overnight...current total for the season locally is 49.4 inches of snow and the norm for the season is an inch and a half more. I don't know where they measure the snowfall but out here I am sure we have had another foot in addition to 49.4 inches so far. 26 degrees, just took two of the cats out so they could enjoy the sun but they scampered back in. Sissies. Girlfriend has one of the grandkids here today...six year old girl and she wants nothing to do with TV, prefers to spend all her time on the Ipad. Is that normal? I am clueless here....

Bill, kids with Ipads have everything they need. They can watch shows, movies, play games, chat with friends, email, just about anything you can imagine.

The reason they are assembled down there, is that Texas is the biggest state for sales of Suburbans, and full size Trucks, and SUV's.

Irv, you are right, of course. Suburbans, Yukons, Tahoes, Silverados, and Sierras are everwhere. Ford pickups sell more throughout the U.S., but in Texas, it seems the GM pickups and SUVs reign supreme. Even Cadillac Escalades are common. Lots of police departments are buying Yukons and Tahoes. I suppose the shipping costs and delivery for fleet sales in N. Texas are minimum.

It was Texas guys who really created the Escalade. Don Massey, at the time the biggest Cadillac dealer in the country, was selling Suburbans and Tahoes down there, and watching the buyers taking the new vehicle to a custom shop to make it into a " Texas Cadillac " . He spent 10 years trying to convince GM to make a Escalade. They finally did it, just to shut him up. They only made a short run, and promptly sold out. After that, they saw the $$$$$ !!!!

The Yukon Denali was out before the Escalade and the '99-2000 Escalade is nothing more than a re-badged Denali. They didn't really split until 2001. Not disputing your story in any way, however.

neat story, thanks!

Toppop, now a zebra or two sounds pretty neat. sure would be easy to find.
I know I'm going to have a large orchard at my next home, but I never thought of having
a zoo. that might be a great deal of fun. two each of giraffes, zebras, llamas , gazelles and any other herbivore
I could find, now that I've found out that beagles eat broccoli. I just don't want them eating each other.
I'd better find a good vet; I don't do deliveries... Of course I say that now...

too late to save Marius, bummer. http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/09/world/europe/denmark-zoo-giraffe/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
