I put all the components together. To rig the inline filter, I'm going to need a couple nipples.

Now, I've got to figure how I'm going to fill the drum. The first filling will probably be using my 5 gallon cans over the course of a week.

Why not put one drum on the truck? Then fill it drive home and drain it into the one on the ground with the pump.

21F & cloudy. Headed to 32F yet again. Had just a dusting of snow overnight.

Taking the car in for oil change this morning. Hopefully they can find where my antifreeze drip comes from this time. The radiator is surrounded by plastic shields making it very difficult to see much.

TxDon, that must have been quite an experience. Did you take any pics? Maybe we shouldn't know what that poor cow looked like. Hauling off dead animals is an experience most of us don't get. I had visions of you putting a rope around the middle of that thing and then it falling in half when you dragged it...oh boy, glad it pulled out cleanly.

Ha ha. That is is mild in comparison to what I was thinking might happen if it very bloated bovine bursted during extraction. Ever see "Ghost Busters" when they got slimed.

Luckily the hardest part was leaning over the water, holding the head up with a hoe and with the other hand slipping a rope around the neck without getting wet. At least it could not look at me because the buzzards already took care of the eyes. When I felt the resistance, when pulling it up the embankment, I was thinking the head might pop off and break my back widow and land in the seat next to me. Ugg. And no pictures, I'm trying to erase the image out of my head now.

33 headed to 48. Clouds breaking up. Haven't had sun in days.

Since it's just above freezing, some of yesterday's ice coating is melting, but we still have ice covered trees and icicles. Slippery walking around.

Drew, we've had a recent influx of starlings, cowbirds and grackles, too. The good news is they are the last birds to come in the morning, so most of the locals get a good meal, and their pick of seed, before the blackbirds arrive. But the starlings have figured how to perch on top of the suet feeder cages and bend over to eat.

Drew I think the starlings provide you with an excellent excuse to buy one of those helicopter drones.
