It's a bright sunshiny day here. Birds are up and singing. Just finished the first of the morning coffee. Grocery run today, followed by some chainsaw time-cutting up a downed tree from storms last week. Plan to close out the day with a few hours on the bicycle and then cooking something on the grill. May try and get some office work in, but had three day event go away, so I have Some "open" time on the calendar to get caught up, so may just take the entire weekend off from work work.

54 this morning and headed to 82 today. Sunny is the forecast for the next week or so. Next Monday and Tuesday are the next chances of rain.

Today is back to the chicken coop. They're all washed down, now to decake. Do that today and maybe tomorrow, just depends on how many loads come out.

Farmers around here are finally rolling. Anhydrous is going down as fast as possible. But then it needs atleast a week before planting, so it doesn't effect germination. Will be interesting to see how many planters pass the anhydrous rigs and worry about nitrogen once the corn is in the ground.

FELArmAligning.jpg

Got the two loader arms separated yesterday using a combination of cutoff wheel and demolition saw. Fortunately I was able to lift the heaviest of the two and get it onto the milling machine table without losing any fingers or toes. I took 0.205" out of the pivot holes to clean them up and have enough room for a decent thickness on the new bushings. Today the mating brackets get bored, then it's on to fabricating the new bushings and pins. Next week's trip to town will have me stopping by the scrap yard for some plate to reinforce the cracked loader arms and pick up some new Kubota orange paint. With all the grinding and welding going on, the FEL's gonna need it.

Drew, I'll be curious to see how the game cam works out for you. I've tried several times in the past to wade through all the reviews and find one without quality or use issues, but was unsuccessful. The one you chose looks like a winner, depending on which battery is used, so please report back once you've used it a bit, OK?

Kyle, it's a shame you had to remind the school people that special needs kids are just that. Hopefully they won't forget anytime soon.

Eric, I didn't know you could cut slate with a chain saw (Stihl). Is that what you'll use, or is it a different Stihl? I've used the edge of a diamond cutting wheel to smooth up granite, but a regular aluminum oxide wheel might work on softer slate. A flapper wheel would be easier to use if you can get it to cut. I know that the diamond wheel makes nice smooth cuts in slate, but the layers in the stone tend to separate. At least that was the story with the slate tiles I worked with last year.

52° headed for mid 70s today. Redneckgeek, Good job on not losing any digits while working on the loader arms.

I got one of our garden beds almost complete yesterday, the straw was a lot easier to put together. I think the next couple will go together a little easier.

That bed looks good. Did you do anything for a foundation? Or are they just setting on the ground.
