just got back from successfully buying a new truck, got a trade value 2k over what I thought I would get (and only 5K less than I paid for the truck...). Thankfully I kept my mouth shut and left them offer a price first. I knew the salesman, he was fine, and I gave him 100 bucks on the side since I know he gets paid about that much for the whole thing. Within five minutes the F&I guy shows up and announces they just found another $2500 factory incentive...how remarkably coincidental.
Nothing like greasing the wheels of commerce... 2015 Laramie, just like what I had, inside is identical, except no engine brake of course, Hemi ran nicely and sounded good winding out. Very quiet truck with the gas engine and rode quite nicely with the air bag suspension. No ram boxes but other than that, they had exactly what I wanted on their lot, in a super dark black green with the tan/brown interior. Truck looks black until the sun hits it on an angle and then one can see a little green. And it did not have a sunroof which I didn't want anyway.
All good. Swapped out the awful oem white letter Goodyear RSA tires for blackwall Michelins, that sure wasn't cheap but well worth it, and ordered a hard tri fold tonneau cover. should pick it up next Wednesday.
had lunch on the way home at the local greasy spoon, place was filled with farmers covered in dirt. Yakked with one, they were concerned for up to five inches of rain getting dumped on us. The forecast still shows only an inch but who knows.
I should be headed to the barn to keep stapling insulation but feeling a bit lazy at the moment. I'll measure the workshop next trip down there. Kinda warm and sticky out; the ac in the house feels good...
looking at the radar, first bands of rain starting to rotate in from the East. My grass seed wants every bit of it.
now to get motivated to go out and sweat and itch. Hmmm, maybe a nap.
