NIce job on the deck over. My neighbor did his last year and looks good. I think my wood is too far gone to put it on, but might try.
Our church did a pig roast yesterday where we cooked the pig ourselves. It turned out real good, first time we had done one. A guy built a bbq pit with dry stacked block, some blocks inside to hold the metal rack, and covered it with some light sheet metal. hole on one end to build the fire. 150# pig took about 10 hrs to cook with "oven" temp maintained around 250. he had temp probes in both ends of the pig and one to monitor the pit temperature. It would alarm if the temp got too low. Used hickory wood. The meat just fell off the bone when we took it out. We invited the whole neighborhood around us for a free meal, we feed over 130 people. We ended up with more meat left over than what was eaten. The weather was absolutely perfect. My oldest son built a bunch of picnic tables for the church a few yrs ago for his Eagle Scout project, this is the first time we had gotten to use them all.
Don, glad to see the floods going down. I thought we were going to see ARK plans in the projects forum.
Everyone have a good memorial day!
