RS, nice looking hosta.
Thanks Drew ... give 'em a year or two and they should look a whole lot better, once they fill out.

Princess has a sort of love/hate relationship with them ... kinda like with the ferns.

Doesn't like that they die back in late summer/early fall ... or that they will "burn" if they get too much direct sun.

I like them because: 1. they grow really well here, 2. they are very easy to propagate, and 3. except for my time and labor (or hers), they are free ...

We're probably up to around 50 or so plants of the variegated variety around the property at this point, and if I split all the ones that are fully bushed out, could probably easily quadruple that number.

While the hostas are nice (in my mind at least) we do need to get some more variety in our plantings. Need more yellow, orange/red, and blue/green to add some contrast and variety. Just need to make a little time to do the research.

Your walkway looks outstanding btw

No rain for the last few days, but not at all warm. General consensus is that the growing season around these parts is running about 2 weeks later than normal.

I must have missed a couple of pages yesterday in my haste to catch up. There I was thinking Don was up to his axles, when he was already unstuck, sat on the porch, having a beer with his feet up. Well done. That rush of adrenalin when it comes free again is a great feeling. Almost makes you want to do it again.

As kids we would dare one another to touch across the terminals of a 9V battery with the tip of our tongue. It was a not-nice-but-not-really-bad-either sensation that had us doing it a few times, just to experience it all again.

Crew got off the road just before the thunder storm hit at 4:45 last evening. Picked up a flat of tomatoes on the way home and we planted them in the freshly watered garden. No sign of the corn coming up yet but the peas are coming along. Got to plant more. Weeds are getting started. need to hoe them down before planting each row . Hope for some more rain today.

69 degrees going up to 85 today.
Have a few trees to plant, more to water, and a trip to the Toyota dealer to see what they would give me for my Avalon.
I think my neighbor's wife wants it but never know. I have tested the new truck downtown, parallel parking, etc, and it is comfortable enough for me to not need a car. So I detailed the car a few days ago, and will now see how much less I am offered than what is online. Isn't it amazing that the numbers we use are never the ones the dealer comes back with?...
I'm in no rush to sell and there is always CraigsList.

Since I don't have to sell, it will be easy to roll my eyes at the used car appraiser and leave...
Luckily there is a Toyota dealer in our relatively small town and therefore a large market for these cars.

Got first cup of coffee poured. 53° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 79° with sun all day. Cut the grass cut yesterday. Just in time for me to get inside when storm hit. Another .63" of rain. Everything looks very green again. Off to dentist this morning. Have not decided what to do rest of day.
Drew, nice pavers.
RS, we like hosta's. Easy to maintain and transplant.
Good Morning All.

64 this morning high of 85 later today. Actual high yesterday was 91 too hot so early in the season and every day it gets drier and drier.

Beautiful paver job Drew and good luck with the sale of your car

65 with it hitting 91 and no rain again. Most of the garden is about done so thinking of doing a 2nd planting of peas and corn. If I get home in time I would like to hook up the bush hog and clean up a planting area my wife started 10 years ago and never kept up. Full of poison ivy and wild Blackberries.
