"That looks more like a tire failure than a wear problem. Unfortunately the warranty is probably prorated, and at 53K you'd be lucky to get twenty bux to put toward the purchase of another set of the same tires. And after what you've experienced, do you really want to put the same tire back on? "

Your right RNG. Not going there again.
$294.81 latter wife is driving again. She never cleans her car so as long as it was beached in the shed and it is 85 degrees and the floor was dirty anyhow I hand washed the thing. Still looks good under all that road muck she picked up this winter. Last time it was washed is when I did it over Xmas break.

Dan the some-day-maybe SIL called and said the the assessment on the house they were going to buy came in 10K less than the price they had agreed to so they called the seller and told them it was all off because FHA won't loan on anymore than the apprised price and by going with FHA they get a 7K grant. I told them to go conventional but they wanted to try for the grant money. Lots of loop holes attached but I think it will work out. So things were tense but it seems the selled is already tied to a new place so they caved in and agreed to the apprised price and everything is a go for May 16th close. Only thing is now they may get stuck with the closing cost that the sellers was going to pay for before. I will just be glad they are not paying rent anymore.

I don't smoke, but I enjoy being in the company of someone else who is smoking a really good cigar. Wngsprd, seeing the picture of that beautiful pool where you had been fly fishing was almost as good as going fishing myself. Not sure if you released the brookies, taking a couple home and slowly flavouring them over hot oak chippings, in my imagination that was the passive trout smoking equivalent of the finest cigar.

Glad you liked the scene, and wish you could have been there. I did release the trout I caught.

71 was closed, at 7 am north of Ellinger, right at the Fayetteville cutoff. I had a Dr. Appointment in La Grange at 8 am so, had no idea if they would be open or not. Got a call at 7:40 that they were going to be closed. Stopped at Hruska's, in Ellinger, to drown my sorrows in a sausage, cheese, jalapeño kolache and a cinnamon roll.

Based on looking at that photo, it's probably not worth living through a flood, but getting to visit Hruska's is probably worth a hail storm or two. Yummy!

Got some mowing done today, will finish another day. Dusty and dry here, There is a wild fire up in the Shenandoah National Park. It had burned 500 ac by this am. Still burning strong. Can see it from part of the lawn it is only about 25 or 30 miles away. Could use some of that Texas water, I hear you all have plenty. You all be safe and prayers sent. Ed

Do you know what section or milepost?

It's 88 degrees here, much hotter than predicted, and dusty and dry, too.

88 degrees? Wow, only 81 here, but 86 tomorrow.
Very dry, ground is rock hard. Moisture further down but new stuff
is now getting watered regularly. Precip due in this weekend.
Great growing weather for the garden but watering every day.

I guess I really ought to figure out how to lay soaker hose in that garden, then put the whole thing
on an electronic timer. Let it come on every morning at 5am. But I don't mind watering a small area like that.
Everything is so packed in it's easy to water.

Colorado flood 4-18-16 number2.JPG

The Colorado river is super flooded, I've never seen it like this. It is 11.5' above flood stage in Columbus Texas. I pray those peeps get to higher ground. If you look at the graph, it went from basically nothing to crazy extreme in a day.

We had a few hours of sunshine here too, now the storm clouds and rain are threatening again. We are under flash flood watch until tomorrow morning at 10 am.

It is the section between Swift run gap at MM#65 to loft mountain at mm #79. From what I can see from my house it is on the west side of the drive. Just saw on line it is now visable from space. Ed

Kyle, correct this has been a crazy 24 hours. We've had about 7" here so far and still raining. Looks like worst was east of here in Waller area, almost 20" in a couple of places. I'd love to get 20" of rain ....... over about 3-4 months.

Can you post or PM me link to the site you're getting the Colorado flow / level info from?

Thanks
