Ed happy birthday you young pup! :D

Don nice job on the limb!!

Eric love the sheep story and pics.

RNG had a Kawasaki shaft drive. The shims on mine were easier to replace just depress the valve enough. The knock on that system was the possibility of shim leaving it appointed position and cause damage on over rev condition. I never had a problem 'cause I didn't ride like that.

 Our cows really get offended it we come near their newborn calves.

I know what you mean. One yesterday was a first calf heifer. She didn't like me there but just balled and lunged. She was close enough I could touch her nose, and did a couple of times. All I wanted was an ID tag in the ear. I do have 3 cows I can forget about tagging calves as a new born. They will come over the calf at you. But they are the only ones with Brahma in them. Most of mine will back off 5 feet and ball at me, so I make it fast.

A few years back, a 67 year old (IIRC) lifetime rancher about 45 miles south of here was killed by a mama cow.

Probably as dangerous as standing on the top step of a ladder and trying to pole saw some high branch. :)

Eric, sometimes you just got to drop everything and GO FISH! Lenny had it right, fishing pole in one hand, beer in the other. Lenny, those bass looked like they came out of a murky water pond that hasn't been fished for a while. At least that's what some caught in those conditions looked like one time we caught them.

Our high school team won. Should've been by a bunch, but IMO they let up on offense and defense and then had to work to stay ahead. It was miserably hot and humid. The kids kept getting charlie horse cramps.

Sadamo, I see enough food there that I would not go hungry. Do they have any oatmeal and blueberries in the morning? How many people are on the ship?

Yes Don, oatmeal and fresh berries. The strawberries and raspberries have been particularly good, also dried apricots, prunes, watermelon, citrus, apples, and a fresh fruit salad.
My SIL is gluten sensitive and she is quite pleased how they have taken care of her.

Good morning. A lovely sunny day here. Grandson is coming over this morning. Haven't seen him for a few weeks, so hope I'm not too out of condition for football. Could even be warm enough for a last water fight of the year.

Pleased to see you got your rock back Don  Your Husky looks tired out with the cutting, maybe it would appreciate a little more tension on that chain.

Good morning all, 65 this morning going to 81 with morning fog. Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes, kind of a quiet day but very nice. Not sure what today will bring.

Farmer, Back when I was a mid teen we were working the calves and had let a new calf slip back so it would not be in the pen with the bigger calves. We went back to the field to castrate and give it the shot. Dad and my brother were doing it and I was keeping the cow away from them but he was watching the cow and could not help dad. So we traded and I was helping and he was keeping the cow away. After a bit I looked up and he had a rough cut oak 2x4 about 5' long swinging it around his head with one hand as he ran to keep between us and the cow. The 2x4 was a full 2" by 4" and was heavy. Later he tried to do it again and could not do it with both hands. He did his job though.

Have a great day Ed
