You guys getting stuff built, I was told to try thumbtack.com

Don, no minnow. The boy is just that skinny.

I bought our Speedqueen at Orsag. They gave a good price and hauled off the old kaputsky. Go in the side door like you know what you are doing. :). I recommend the old fashioned dial style instead of the new electronic dash panel. That was what was recommended to me.

RNG, we put her back. Preggo Mama's don't fight quite so hard. We have a healthy pond for the most part. We would keep smaller "slot" fish to eat.

Riptide, that is one big silo and barn. I'd be scared to climb a ladder on that thing. How tall is it?

Here are some Silo shots. Note the tree coming out of the middle of it. Most unfortunate as it is going to take some daring to get that out of there. I had hoped on a platform at the very top for sky watching, flying activities and general fun factors. I will get an engineer out this summer to gauge the support value of the structure.

One shot is during the cleanup effort, I think that's the second pile of trees to come out.

The other shot is the rough grading in progress. This is were I found most of the concrete pad and the metal roof panels. LOL.

That's a handsome barn and silo. Nice job so far.

Good evening all. 64F this morning (warmer than yesterday :) ), mostly sunny sky and light wind. Day warmed to 81F wind kicked way up and sky clouded up. There was .1 in the rain gauge from yesterday, hopefully more tonight as it is dry here. Choir practice this morning, then worked on getting compressor adapted to Presta size fill valves. Did nor ride as winds were 25-35 today and that is no fun riding in. Also updated to routes for Saturday's ride in Sulfur Springs, and uploaded map to GPS. Will be getting newer GPS device with better mount for new bike :)

Rednecks rule, Cajun! Wonder if something like that would work for a bowed out tailgate? What did you use to pull the vacuum?:confused3:

I used the vacuum pump that I have for AC repairs. You are going to need a really big bag if you are going to do that on a tailgate. Be careful because vacuum can crush things easily.

55 going to 70. Let the stove go out overnight.

Cut another load of firewood yesterday. Probably my last of the year...oh well, maybe one more small one if it gets cold again.

Early meeting this morning.

Kyle, that young man will now be a fisherman for life.

Good morning, rain has finished and it's turning into quite a pleasant morning.

Riptides, I'm not sure what I'm most envious of, your barn or your silo. Concrete like that must have cost plenty of money back in the 20's. Hopefully a structural engineer will give you good news on the foundations. Did you say the tree is growing all the way up from the bottom of the silo ? A professional tree surgeon would maybe climb it from the inside and work conventionally from top down. Alternatively, it could be interesting to work out a way of taking small firewood length sections from the base and let gravity drop it down each time, as long as the branches coming out the top wouldn't make it hang. You certainly have a fascinating project ahead of you.

Kyle, that's surely is a fish for you both to remember for a lifetime.

Mousefield, lovely picture. I've never heard of herrings being caught on hook from the shore before.

45 out this AM. Thanks for all the kind words on the silo. Some noticed that poison ivy. LOL. I never did figure out how high it went up. Got to measure it today. I should also post some interior shots of the tree. It kind of meanders its way up and out. Yeah there is a lot of concrete at this place. I got slabs and foundations all over. Today I think I will throw some seed down. And move the last of the root and vine pile to the burn pile.
Have a great day all. Be safe.
