Made it back home safe and sound ready for a new work week. Trip was uneventful and I rode the whole way in the back seat. Slept the last two hours in the lap of luxury wife drove the whole way

Good morning. The wind from the lastest storm is now dying down. I'm impressed with the leaves on the trees this year, they've been blasted on and off with 40 and 50+ mph winds for almost a week and yet apart from the maple, chestnut and a few hawthorn, most of them are clinging on, with many still dark green. Perhaps their tenacity is something to do with it being such a wet summer.

We took our grandson to meet his brother yesterday afternoon and then said goodbye to all the family as mum and baby were given the green light to leave hospital and go home. Last night I sat by the fire, mesmerised as ever by the ever changing flames while reflecting on how much has happened in the 7 years that separates their births. Life passes so quickly, I should try harder to make the most of every day that's left.

LFN, if my wife's mother was still alive,she would have loved to go on, or even guide, one of those tours. I remember a time when she was making almost daily hospital visits and got friendly with the young taxi driver who picked her up each day. He would take different routes just so she could point out places where bombs had fallen.

Need to pour fist cup of coffee. 58° with mostly cloudy skies. Heading to 62° with rain. Never got tire off tractor. Maybe this afternoon. Wife has dental appointment early this morning. I will drop her off and do some shopping at Rural King across the street. Forecast calls for over a 1" of rain today. That should knock a few leaves down from trees.

Much needed rain arriving late tonight for next 2 days,and the winds should loosen LOT more leaves from the trees which means.....

Well time to lace the boots and think about heading down to valley for 8 hours of I don't know what.

I'll be heading to the Burlington airport in a few hours...hope the flights (two of them) to Dallas are uneventful. I'll have my company laptop with me, so I expect to post each morning

Good morning all. 60 going to 71 today with a 60% chance of showers. Supposed to get a good rain tonight, between 1 and 2 in. Having trouble with the computers, the baby monitor in mom's room kills the signal from the router. Router is in that room too so she can hook her pacemaker monitor to the phone line. Now that she is up and we turned it off the internet works fine. I read everything this morning with hit and miss internet so I don't remember much of what I read. Have a mother in law visit this morning and the Dr is making a house call in the afternoon so that is about all I will get done. Trying to build without making noise is interesting to be sure.

Good morning! 47˚ and I've already gone on my 10th search for Whipper. She was following the car to the gate in the thunderstorm yesterday. When we got to the gate we did not see her following so we thought she went back to the house. That was 24 hours ago we've been searching for her since. We are expanding the search so Kyle if you see a shy black dog (50 lb.) with a short tail call me.
