Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 6:45AM. Sunshine and a few clouds. High 57F. Winds light and variable.
Sounds like you're making progress, Buckeye. Bet you've got some impressive looking stitches. But please, no photos, especially not first thing in the morning! How long you gonna be able to milk this before you have to go back to work?
Dogs and kids, how do you figure out what motivates them to do the best thing for themselves? An age old question, and the answers change with every generation...
Bad news at the mechanic's yesterday (again), it seems all the work required on the transaxle wasn't done the first time around, so it was sent back, but there was a disagreement about what was asked for, and problems paying promptly for what was done. So now we're waiting for the second round of work to be completed, and I get the feeling the vendor is upset enough to not be in any hurry. Classic case of the owner/best mechanic dying a couple years ago and leaving the business to the son, who isn't nearly as technically proficient or as caring about the customers as his father. At this point the engine is finished and ready to install, but apparently it's much easier to mate the transaxle to the engine on the bench and install the two together. So no more work until the transaxle is back. I did write a check for a new flywheel and heavy duty clutch, but no more cash until the rest of the work is done. That elicited some grumbling, but also an admission that, in light of past performance, it was the right approach.
Nothing like a great movie to perk you up. Screened "Never So Few" last night, starring Frank Sinatra, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, , Gina Lollobrigida, Peter Lawford, Brian Donlevy, Dean Jones, and many other greats. Sinatra got top billing, but McQueen stole the show, as usual. Sure don't make'em like they used to.
More motorcycle work in the garage once it warms up, then maybe a BBQ for dinner if it doesn't get too cloudy. Supposed to be another storm on the way in for tomorrow.
TGIF gang!:drink:
