Good morning! 35˚ Still a light not wind so our high will be in the 50s.

Kyle has your wife seen the researched of prebiotics in dietary form. (Fiber). No use taking probiotics if you don't give them the right environment to survive.

A belated happy birthday to Mrs. Ed.

29 going to 41. It never made it out of the 30s yesterday, although the forecast was 53. Cleared off overnight, so maybe some drying time today.

Randy, nice job with the welding/grinding/painting, and nice buy on the equipment.

Hawkeye, hope things improve at work, or that you become comfortable with a retirement decision.

Got the HVAC tech coming by in an hour to do routine maintenance...signed up for an annual maintenance contract when our geothermal system need some work last year since it provides a discount on repairs, too, which pretty much paid for itself. I still do the filter replacement, since I replace them every 60 to 90 days depending on the weather...2 MERV 11 filters each time: 2x24x20 inches.

Eric, glad you got some frozen ground...I plan some of my days around having it here.

I think I'll sharpen a couple of chains today, and split a small stack of firewood. After complaining several times about my B&S engine taking dozens of pulls to start, I have to apologize to it...it started on the first or second pull the last 3 times I used it. Did I just jinx myself?

-14 and looking at a high of 14 above. Wind W 5 mph. I spoke of spring too soon.

I was going to scrape the drive way this morning, but I don't fire up the tractor in any temps below zero F. We only got about an inch of snow so it really isn't worth the fuel to go out and plow.
Those that don't normally get snow but did, hunker down, it will be gone in a day or two and nothing is worth your life.

toppop,
I cannot weld. Not stick at all. The fumes from welding gives me a migraine. I did some gas welding when I was younger and can gas weld with coat hanger, but that is it. It has been 40 years since I did any welding and you can't teach this old dog new tricks.

Stay safe all

Poured second cup of coffee. 9° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 20° with cloudy skies. Putting new threshold seals on all doors to rooms we do not heat. Got 2 done 2 to go. Neighbor called me yesterday asking if I wanted to go too local RV show with him today. I am glad to help him spend his money. :D

Don, price to repair cylinder was $120. They did it while we waited. You and I went shopping around the dealership. You bought something else bu I do not remember what it was.

Ed, to check for a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) a urine sample is taken. The person who is having one does not know that they have a UTI. It is not the same as a bladder infection. Prayers for you and your family.

Randy, I have 3 different grinders. Takes at least on grinding wheel to make a weld look good enough to post a picture. You did good.

Eric, I have a cabinet that I store all my fuel, oil and grease supplies in. Seems to keep them clean. Decided to spend a few extra dollars for my fuel storage. Ordered a Gas Caddy Tank Storage Carrier Pump w/ Wheels. If it works the way it is supposed to. I can pump fuel out of the 5 gallon cans in to the tank. Then pump into the tractor or lawn mower. I figured my back was worth the $200.

Prayers for those not feeling up to par.

Good Morning All.

Work is turning ugly, lots of layoffs as business transitions. Lots of experience going out door, those of us left are taking are 2-3 times workload, much of it just won't get done. It made my wife and I start looking at where we stand financially, are we ready for retirement, etc. Probably should have been working on it the last few years, but life happens. Some good discussions on this forum about retirement.
hawkeye08, No regrets retiring 14 years ago. Wish I had done it sooner. One piece of advise my mother gave me. Was do those things you want to do in retirement while you are young and have the health and strength to do it. When you get older. Health and strength will not let you do them. She lived to 96.

Between Drew having a tractor for every implement and Ron having a grinder for ever wheel I feel left out. I need something for every something.

Ron it looks like I need to get a 12v battery maintainer for Mom's pickup. Which one did you get?

RNG, when you store yours hung up, how do you stop it from being a dirt magnet ?

The reduced size tubing I spliced onto the end slides neatly into the dispensing nozzle. That keeps any Diesel remaining in the tube after reverse pumping, in the tube. I hang it in the little shack built over my water well. It's full of gardening equipment, and doesn't get much use otherwise.

Doctor recommended Gaviscon last visit, Buppies. He said the liquid form would work a lot faster than any pill, and he's been right. I was on Prilosec for years and that caused other issues. Now the Gaviscon is good for when I get a flair up. Hope you find your own cure; acid in your mouth is no fun!

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 7:00AM. Sunny. High near 70F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Still no rain in the ten day forecast...

I see now where Elon Musk launched one of his cars into space, and I had a chance to watch a live feed of it yesterday before they flung into the far reaches of the Solar System. Brings a whole new meaning to the term "Space Junk".

Watched the new Blade Runner movie last night and had some trouble following what was going on. Gonna have to watch it again, and it's almost three hours long! Harrison Ford still looks pretty good for an old man. That or they pasted his head on some other actor's body.

Grocery run today, will hang a few more parts on the old motorcycle before that. Yesterday I mounted the rack and "R69S" metal badge on the rear fender, which required cutting down and polishing a bunch of bolts. Good therapy.

You should move closer 'cause I think we'd make a good team!:laughing::laughing:

It was 22* this morning, it made it up to 47* yesterday. Partly cloudy again today with high in the low 50* and still windy.

Eric... This one is loaded with 97 grains of Goex cartridge powder and a 500 grain bullet. I had one load of Elephant 2F powder that was 107 grains. Back in the day they loaded by volume not weight. The cases needs to be full with a wad ( cardboard or gasket ) between the bullet and powder and a little compression.
I worked up loads like you would with smokeless powder. A lot of trial and error. This last load would group at about inch and a half at 100 yards with open sights. If the operator didn't screw up.

Making the weekly trip to town today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Morning all;
Get well all, hate getting sick and or old, also don't care for the alternative.
This last storm dropped right at 10-11 inches here, I didn't plow yesterday so out at 5 this morning to get enough plowed that the wife could get out to work. Finished my place about 9:30 and headed up the driveway and looked over and saw a neighbors truck sitting where it didn't belong so turned around and went over there, truck stuck and in trying tp get out ended up over the bank and his little tractor gelled up on him so pulled the truck out and roughed out his driveway, now time for a couple of more cups of coffee.

Buppies, be very careful, besides the obvious damage it can do, sometimes reflux is caused by cardiac problems.
