Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 5:30AM. Partly cloudy. High near 75F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
The ten day forecast is now showing a 50% chance of rain next Friday and Saturday. In other words, a 100% chance that it will either rain or it won't, and that the weather guesser will be correct.:confused2:
The old proverb will be true here: March did come in like a lion, and it sure is leaving like a lamb. Seems like we went from winter to summer in the course of a week. Rain, near freezing temps, and highs in the low 50s last week, and now sunshine and record highs in the high 70s. I'm not complaining about the nice weather now, but if it's already this warm in March, the summer's gonna be a real scorcher.
Glad so many of your mother's friends and family attended the service so that you had a chance to see them all, Ed. I hope you were comforted that they cared enough to come.
Hope you get your tooth taken care of Monday instead of Thursday, Wng. Save you from wasting a lot of Bourbon.
Wish there was some way you could shelter all the lambs, Eric, but that would require a fair sized barn, wouldn't it? And you'd have to find something to do with all that space the rest of the year, causing even more problems, huh?:laughing:

A few surprises yesterday as I worked to get the old motorcycle ready for its debut today at a April Fool's party at the previous owner's home. I have two sets of cloisonne badges, both in plastic bags with identical BMW part numbers, but only one set would fit the two threaded holes on the side of the fuel tank. The older pair went on fine, and I had to drill holes for the pair that went on the saddle bags, but I can imagine lots of folks being upset when the current supply is found not to fit their intended purpose. Mounting the tail light on each bag went smoothly, but when I went to attach the bags back on the bike I found that they didn't want to go. Apparently I made insufficient adjustments in the mounts to accommodate the rack I added, which shares four of the mounting bolts. I made the bags fit, but not well, so they're back on the list for more attention next week. This was also the first time I tried to fit the front cover onto the engine, and I had to remove the rear steering damper bolt and bend the horn mount out of the way to get it on. More adjustments needed there as well. But the most unpleasant surprise were the tires on the trailer, which are starting to weather check and have a couple of what look like cuts in the sidewalls. The spare is in pretty good shape so I'm prepared if one of them gives out today, but new trailer tires will also go on the list of things to do. I did not have time to get the points back on and readjusted, but that's probably a good thing as I'd rather not have folks asking for a ride until I've had a chance to get it well sorted. Even then, after all this work and previous bad experiences, the safe answer would be "no" anyway.

$628.20 for a chair? I paid less than that for my couch! And that doesn't even include assembly, which out here costs an additional $100.39. I guess everything is more expensive in Kalifornia, huh Drew?:shocked:

The presence of the Madden-Julian Oscillation over the Central Pacific amidst a backdrop of the easterly phase of the Quasi-Biennial Oscillation supports enhanced probabilities for atmospheric river activity for the West Coast. Model guidance suggests these risks will be realized, with improved model consistency on an atmospheric river coming ashore over Washington and Oregon on the 5th and then across California the following day. Heavy rains (up to 2 inches in 24 hours) is possible for the West Coast through the Cascades and Sierra Nevadas on the 5th and 6th with this event. Primary concerns with this event are likely associated mudslides and localized flooding, particularly in areas with burn scars from fires over the past several months. While atmospheric rivers typically bring high winds, model guidance suggests limited wind impacts with this event. Lastly, warming climatological temperatures and southerly onshore flow should limit any chances for snowfall outside of the highest peaks in the Cascades and Sierra Nevadas.

Son had late softball game last night. We left after 1st inning, 1030pm. He almost hit one over fence his first at bat.
Ed, glad things went well yesterday. My mom passed over a year ago, but she suffered for yrs. It's never easy, take care of yourself.

I recently got a heavy leather office chair for free. Takes up a lot of space compared to my old chair.

Good Uh, morning... I mean afternoon. Was up early but to sleepy to post. Going up to 59 today and sunny and then wet maybe for a good while. Need to gas up the truck while I have $1.90 off a gal. Pick up a little food and pick up wife's weight machine that was supposed to be here two weeks ago. Will likely take it easy other than that. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.
