Yesterday was hot and humid, but thundershowers last night cooled things down a bit. Noticed that the non freeze hydrants that have issues are the same brand, power source or something like that. The one we just replaced had the brass rod at top bend and then broke. There is another one that is hard to turn off and when I examined it yesterday, the brass rod on it was bent slightly. Both are less than 4 years old. The design puts side force on the rod when shutting off. I'll take a look at the one we just installed (different brand) and see if it has same design problem. I have not found a local source for the Woodford brand (they seem to have really good reviews)... I wish we could get the same ones we installed 25 years ago.

Good morning to all! Low of 52, going up to 87, progressively warming to 91 by Sunday. No rain chances at all!

Had a set back at PT, sudden pain and swelling. Therapist thinks I tore some scar tissue during the exercises. Iced it, steroidal ultrasound, and ace wrap. Taking it easy today but feels like it wants to go backwards like a stork leg.

Wng, as RNG said, a large capacity hose is a necessity, and a way to get away with a smaller compressor is to use a 'slave' tank, fed by the compressor, but you draw from the tank to run the impact gun. Basically gives you a larger air capacity to draw from. Dedicated air tanks (15-20gal) cost around $30-40. I have a 60 gal upright HF (US General) compressor in the detached shop, but when I use air greater than 100 ft away (in the house), I put the slave tank at the end of the 100' hose, then run another 50' or 100' from the tank. Never experienced air starvation. Also comes in handy as a quick portable air supply. Filled to 120psi, has enough air to fill a tire or get about 20 shots of a nail gun.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, stay star and out of trouble:D

65 degrees going for a high of 91. Yesterday, I mowed the yard, stopped about 6 times to empty the grass catcher and the last time, the EGO mower would not restart. That has happened before, but after a couple of tries, it restarted. This time, I tried everything I could think of and it wouldn't start. I pushed it around to the other side of the house, tried one more time and it started. However I had to let go of it to put the bagger back on, then it wouldn't start again. So I took it to the dealer from whom I bought it, and of course it started just fine there. So I left it for them to try to find the problem. I hate intermittent problems with equipment.

I posted the above on the 17th. Today, the guy at the dealer said he thinks the problem is going to be a loose wire somewhere, but he said the problem is not intermittent anymore; "it's broke". So they just gave me a complete new mower, including a new battery and battery charger, bagger, etc.

Good to know the EGO company stands behind their warranty.

I agree...I don't have the mower, but I do have the weed eater, chainsaw and leaf blower (I look like Robocop when wearing the leaf blower!)

Good evening all, got the LA145 running today, the fuel shutoff was stuck closed. Got an estimate from the HVAC guy. $6000 for AC and $7000 for a heat pump without the heat strips in it. Got two more estimates Friday. Hope everyone has a good night. Ed

Got my potatoes planted. Had to retill that part of garden. Troybilt tiller wouldnt start, so hooked up the kk tiller to the massey. Had too many potatos for usual 2 rows, so squeezed in a 3rd.
Then planted 1 row of pole beans, and put up utility panels on t posts for the beans to run up. Planted a couple pepper plants.
Corn is coming up. I noticed grass or weeds already growing under the weed block. That stuff is worthless. Still have room for 1 more row of corn, and another row of beans.
Finished at dark.

Good evening all. 72F this morning, partly cloudy and calm wind. Moderate wind day, sky stayed partly cloudy, and high temp was 88F. Bike ride this morning, then went boat shopping, then picked up the truck. two trips and everything is working with no traction or brake lights on the dash. Half the 750 was the module and half was installing and making everything work nice together. Did get a short nap today.
Prayers for all.

Can't sleep so I just got up. HVAC guy was here yesterday and said hat I have a hole in the coil of the 15 year old air handler in the attic. Need a new unit. Guy put 6 lb of R22 in the unit Have an AC unit and the generator will pull it but they say not a HP due to the heat coils in the HP. Had finely scraped up the $$$ to buy a mill and lathe but don't guess that is to be for now. Been wanting them for many years.

Prayers for those in need. Ed

Mine is 15 year old R22 unit. The R22 is over $100 LB. Guy is coming tomorrow to give estimates. Will get a heat pump tied into the gas furnace or an ac unit. Depends on what he says.

Cajun, Hope things go well for your fix as well.

Have a great day. Ed

Good morning all, 60 this morning going to 82 with fog and then sunny. Got the LA 145 running well with a mustard bottle tricklleing gas in the intake. Ran for about 3 min until I ran out of gas in the bottle. Went out and bought a fuel pump and hope to mow grass with it today. We will see if that is the problem. Guy is coming today to give us a price on the new ac/hp. Wondering what it will be.

Prayers for all in need, have a great day. Ed

Ed, what brand, what size? You need to look online for the equipment. They are not that bad to install if you can get a strongback helper to put them in place. You are getting ripped off for R22. Get some off craigslist, but you didn't hear it here.

speedair is good stuff from the old days RNG.

Ls 125, hope your knee gets better.

Randy, prime rib burgers....you are downright spoiled.... :)
