We visited and took a private tour of the original Sun City outside Phoenix in February, 1990. In fact we were staying in the Paradise RV Resort in Sun City that month. Del Webb has built some interesting places. They also have one on the east side of Lake Lewisville in this area (Frisco, TX).

Good morning to all! 52 this morning, up to about 86. Partly cloudy so temp not too bad. No rain forecast, but what else is new.

Still no return call from the ortho doc....so no PT. Too bad. Had a bunch of errands to do this morning....got them all done. Back to the fence this afternoon for a little bit. Have to cut down and rebuild the gate.

Don, congrats on the sale of your place, and I hope you have a fantastic experience moving to Sun City. I had worked for Pulte Homes, which is the parent company of Del Webb. They build a very high quality home. Whipper will fit in just fine!

BEF, that's not a bad price for a repair kit. There are a few YouTube videos showing the repair, might not be too hard...

Randy, glad to hear that the SIL issue wasn't too serious...prayers still sent.

Drew, maybe offer the lady some quiet / peaceful time in the garden with you? (Listening to the sprinklers):cloud9::shhh:

David, try to stay dry and out of harms way...any issues with acid rain or ash where you guys are at?

Prayers out to all needing them, always positive thoughts for you guys. Have a great day!

txdon; We have been researching Sun City in Georgetown for a year and decided to make it our new home. It is 1.5 hours from here. The first house we walked in was a winner.[/QUOTE said:

Here's a couple of pics of the fence cut down to 3'. The gate looks kinda funny sticking up at the 6' mark. Wifey did a fine job cutting all the 'dog ears' back on the 3 footers. Don't know exactly how many there were, but it was a lot. Only 2 more sections to go, but they're behind a big Lilac bush. At least now we can see all the landscaping done over the years.

Can't believe we went from nothing out here to our oasis today. Hopefully someone will appreciate the work involved when we sell it next year (hopefully).

Tufftorq emailed me back, they only sell the axle kit, not individual axles. Think i will try to repair it myself at $180 for the kit. Ebay guys selling axles are probably the side they didnt need from the kit. Kit includes both axles, seals, 3 qt fluid, filter.

BEF, suggest you remove opposite side wheel and take a hard look at that axel before making your final decision. You could suffer same problem, on that side, in the future.

Our daughter and son in law that just bought property decided that even with the TLB they got, it would be very nice to have a Gravely rider around (I offered them one of my 3). Move some things around, put the forks on the Kubota and lifted the Gravely out of its resting place (at least 5 years it had sat there). Aired up the tires, put some gas in, charged a battery and it started right up (some starter fluid to get it firing to pump some gas, then ran fine)...

Felt good that maybe someone will get some use out of one of the Gravelys. It has a Kwik Way loader on it with custom ballast platform and about 300lbs weight out back.

We are pretty much out of harm’s way. No acid rain or ash as the winds have been favorable. Lady at PO was telling me yesterday they disconnected their catchment, they live in Mountain View and not so fortunate. She is concerned that if protracted they might run out of water.

So my first thought seeing the cut down fence was where to put the cutoff portion.
Looks very nice

Finally got my chipper ready!
We had it assembled two weeks ago...but with the rain and my hours at work...just no time to actually try it.
Anyway, works great! Had a tree top come down on the lawn just before the chipper was delivered...that was the test branches. 4 or 5 inches in diameter and the Woodmaxx just munched them right up. Makes nice chips. Getting the implement PTO drive shaft hooked to the tractor's stub shaft was a real pain though. New U-joint had to be positioned "just so" to slide it on. I have a bad back so I had to stop now and then. Of course, that u-joint will wear in soon enough.
I have a couple small (trunk 6" or so in diameter) trees to drop...plus a half dozen or so smaller diameter tress (big saplings) to take down...good job for the weekend, if weather permits. I really need to mow the field though...soon. The flail mower is greased and ready to go.

Hawkeye, you mean one of these?

in my case a 1986 8199G
one of my first to the frame renovations, currently with 23hp Vanguard engine swap out, which I recommend highly.

If you have three, than you must qualify as a Gravely "nut"...:D

Roy, glad it worked so well for you after all your hard work putting it together.
I learned not to rush mine and just have it feed in slowly

I repowered one of mine that had Onan 16.5, put the 18hp engine on... the other two have Briggs so might recommend to my daughter to repower with the vanguard. I know some have put the 24hp Honda on also.
