Good morning all, 68 going to 84 with a 20% chance of T-storms. No plans for today, will just see what comes and go from there.

Kyle, never thought of Teflon as something you could machine, learned something new.

Eric, never heard of a duvet ether, had to look it up. I used one of those back when I was single but just called it an opened up sleeping bag. :)

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 53° with bright moon this morning. Heading to 78° with partly cloudy skies. Pine shrub is down to a stump. May need to put BH on to get it out. Not in a hurry to do that. Chipper pile is getting large. That chore goes on the list also. After a trip to Sams Club. Going to put fail mower on tractor and start cutting back and side fields today.

Kyle, sorry the rooster got your wife. Hope she heals quick. Roosters did not last long when we had chickens. They ended up in a roaster.

RNG, have you used Deoxit to clean smartphone connectors?

Good Morning All.

If you never heard of a duvet then I’m betting you never heard of a divan, either. 38 years in the interior design business taught me a lot of terminology.

72-85 today, still humid.

Two big car shows for charity today and tonight, one is for Homes For Heroes, the other for Brain Cancer Research. Hope the weather cooperates.

Have a great day folks!

good morning all, woke up to driving rain, about an inch of rain dumped in a very short period, and then maybe some drying later. Forecast is wet and more wet, rain/thunderstorms predicted every day for 10 days. Makes planning difficult but I've decided to just ignore the rain unless it's coming down on my head.

Three of the cleaning ladies are coming for special duty this morning and we are pulling everything out of the garage, cleaning it, forcing me to do something with a lot of things that simply don't belong there (barn, garden shed or heave). Then we clean up the sunroom and get all of my gardening equipment out of the house and reduce clutter. A good goal, we'll see how it goes. Outside helper due in later today, I think he'll get rained out.

Then I have to go foodshopping since I have three folks coming for Brunch tomorrow and I'm making blueberry Belgian waffles and mimosas. Need to get more pancake mix; bought some "healthy" stuff and it was just awful tasting. Going back to the good stuff...

Hope you all have a nice weekend. Kyle, I roasted a chicken last night on the grill, and thought of your rooster. Anyone that pecks me would have the same fate.

divan and duvet both sound French, and old fashioned. I knew a duvet was a small bedspread, but a divan? That weird little couch grandmothers lay down on in their bedrooms? Yup, I bet Toppop redid a few.

Randy, how about a chesterfield? Now that's a stumper....

I致e got to replace my trimmer, I had two that I lost in the fire a year ago today. Man a lot has happened in that year in my world!
Anyway, I have about 20-30 minutes of trimming. My Kubota will fit most places, it痴 why I got 48 instead of 60, 54 would squeeze through but I didn稚 want to be squeezing. I only mow 2 acres.

My question is what battery trimmers do you all like?

I got an Echo trimmer last year with the 58V battery. The battery lasts as long as I do. It has two power settings, but I have never had to use the faster setting. It cuts as well as my older Stihl gas trimmer, on which I installed a blade and decided to use only for that purpose. So all regular trimming is with the Echo. I like it.

72 and foggy, going to 86, maybe a storm later.

Kyle, that was a family memory that I'm sure you all will retell with more fondness over the years.

Randy, how's your knee?

Ed, hope you're feeling better.

Don, let us know how snake man is doing if you can...sounds painful to get bitten on the nose and mouth.

Too cloudy/stormy to see the moon here until early this morning.

Glad I started early yesterday because the storms rolled in right after lunch. Got some lopping and chainsaw trimming done, but still have some piles of branches to drag down to the brush piles. Just as I stepped out the door, I heard a great crash and saw part of the forest shaking...checked it out and a large branch had just fallen off a monster oak tree...no wind, and no rain had started falling...just fell out of the blue...very near where I had been backpack spraying poison ivy the other day.

Have a great Saturday.

My sister just emailed me, got into SFO after a three hour rain delay, sold her home in Princeton yesterday and is now a bonafide
resident of the land of fruits and nuts. I mean, just look at our resident nut, oops sorry RNG
She said something about not being able to fly business class because they were taking their cat with them. That didn't make sense to me
but lots of rules about everything. So she took a coach redeye all night, boy is she going to be tired, but likely wired from last two days and hard to sleep in
daytime. I bet she walks down to the beach and puts her feet in the water. Muir Beach.

I told her to look up and wave and Sodamo would wave back. He has a really good telescope...:D

Now I have to figure out how to come visit her, when I hate to fly. That's a lot of driving...by myself. Honestly afraid I'd fall asleep driving, need company for long drives.
I have stops in Texas, Colorado and Michigan potentially, which would only work with driving. Sure would be nice if this country had decent trains that went to new places.
When was the last time you saw anyone put in a new train line? Make them electric and green, but make them. Europe and Asia train systems have left us in the dark ages.
Why should I have to go to Chicago in order to get to LA?

I think I'd really like to take a nice sleeper car train, so I could use my laptop and Kindle to keep sane. Driving the car is becoming less enjoyable with bad arthritis, all that steering wheel gripping, pressing on pedals, all things that hurt after awhile. Which is why I thought the Cadillac SuperCruise was really, really neat. But I'm not a Cadillac person, just don't want bling.
Besides, by the time the new Audi is done, the next car will likely be driving me anyway. And it will be electric I'm sure. Just like our weedeaters....

66 right now...high about 80 and possibility of rain and T-storms.

Only chore today is a dump run. It's too wet to mow now...maybe it'll dry up some today.

The seminar in Indianapolis was pretty good. There were two topics, one customer specific and the other was aerospace industry specific. The aerospace industry specific concerned harmonization of certain standards and specifications....something the automotive industry did decades ago. For those who work at aerospace suppliers, you know that sometimes customer specs can conflict...by initiating aerospace industry specs, much of that conflict can be eliminated. I won't bore you with the rest of it...

well there it is, just what I did with my Mexican gardener! :D
couldn't find the right words though. Thanks Roy.

Gotta get that technical jargon down pat, Drew...

And, always remember, if you can't befuddle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull*hit. When you can do that, you've got the technical jargon down pat...

Good morning! Underground Weather station "Daisy" in Sun City neighborhood # 59 says it's 74˚ and heading to 100˚ again. We have had over two weeks of 100+ afternoon temps. It's only rained twice since we moved here and the neighborhood would be a brown desert in the hill country except the HOA does not allow that. Everyone has underground sprinklers and the yards are a fresh spring green in this terrible heat.

Rick let us know how long the batteries last while mowing. Also the charger that comes with the EGO mower is a fast charger and can charge the 56V 5ah battery in 15 minutes - a mandatory hydration break every 30 minutes. I'll time the exact minutes the EGO mower runs on the 4 year old battery this weekend. I know the Worx has two batteries and dual charger, how long they each run and how long to recharge them would be an interesting comparison. My 5ah battery last about 30 minutes and the 2.5 ah (trimmer and blower) batteries last about 15 minutes in the mower (or 30 minutes in the trimmer and blower). With these two interchangeable batteries I can mow continuously with the fast charger.

Eric, the brushless more efficient motors is a point I missed in the comparison.

Mostly yesterday's and today's bike ride will be in the spinning room. A hike with Whipper will be taking up the prime cool morning temp time.

Kyle, did your kids enjoy eating their rooster or have they turned vegetarian like my "country" cousin's kid did.

Don, I have one of those EGO fast chargers that came with my mower and a 7.5 ah battery. And I also have one of the EGO slower chargers that came with the string trimmer and the 2.5 ah battery. The dealer from whom I bought it says it makes no difference which charger you use with which battery; one charger is just faster than the other one, and it's OK to just leave a battery on either charger after it's fully charged; cannot over charge a battery.

So my question is "why do they make and sell both chargers?" Is it just that they can sell the slower charger cheaper?

Incidentally, the owner's manuals have some information about how long a battery will last before running down and needing to be charged, but it does vary with the load. I don't hear any difference in the sound of the motor running, whether mowing thin, short grass or thick, tall grass, but the time you can mow before the battery runs down does vary with the load put on the mower. And the same is true of the string trimmer.

69 outside this glorious AM. Heading to upper 80's. Got pounded on yesterday. On the road too. Had to make a trip to Richmond so I ran into the weather down and back. People around here just cannot drive very well in the weather. Sigh.

Anyway, lots of branches to pick up and a pool to take care of. Might get back to the run in. That came to a full stop with the weather issues we have been having.

I still have standing water in my pastures. It needs to dry out.

Have a great day all, be safe!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

A muggy foggy 62ºF to start morning Walk #1. Another day with possible PM Storms. The truck is already loaded for the "Dump Run." I hope that it stays dry long enough so I can mow the perimeter path and "lawn." This place is starting to look like an abandoned property again with all the recent rain and the string trimmer still in the shop.

Ted- How's the MCL treating you? I can walk Brogen on leash, but no one else seems able to control his leash pulling. The vegetation in the lower field is 3' - 4' high this time of year with a lot of local wildlife activity based on all the animal trails/tracks through the "grass." Yesterday something got him going walking the lower field perimeter which required some "redirection"..... Later in the day I watched 3 Momma hen turkeys leading 13 young with a tailing adult keeping the youngsters moving across the yard. I really do not know if Brogen would tolerate another dog in the house based on how he behaves in the truck or the house when he sees other animals. He is naturally "muzzled" with his atrophied jaw muscles. He could not do much damage with his bite, but he weighs ~150#'s +/- 5#. He could squash a smaller animal.

I hope that everyone has a decent weekend and those on the mend keep mending and those who are healthy and happy stay that way.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
