Boy, some really nice quilts and great setups. Such a blessing when couples share and support their interests. Never had a good feeling for couples that seemed to exist in two separate orbits that only bumped together now and then. Then again they were the same people that couldn’t understand how wife and I could spend so much time together.

People tell us the same thing, we work together and just enjoy being together. I used to tell the guys at work I wanted to stay home, I like my wife better than you. Ed

This is the latest quilt project my wife is working on. This is the one that she sewed with a needle and thread and is now hand quilting. It sits in front of the living room window. IMG_0376.JPGIMG_0377.JPG Hope this worked Ed

That's awesome, Ed! My Wife started one of those 3D patterns several years ago. She got all the material cut, and it's been sitting in a box ever since. I need to razz her about it tonight.

My wife was smiling this morning when I mentioned folks on tractor forum are interested in sergers and quilting. She also says thanks for the well wishes. She is feeling much better.

My wife attends a Quilting group every Friday. But I think something else is going on. They call themselves The Stitch and ***** Quilting group at the Senior Center.
I think I posted some of there Quilts that they donate to various groups.

Wow, every time I look at the quilt Ed I see different designs, hexagons, squares some with raises sides, it's mind boggling.

Pj and buckeye nice quilts. A lady on the next street also has a crown jewel.

Great quilts! I do fabric quilting but I don’t make patchwork quilts. My mom did up until when she was in her 80s.

Lady thing I did any sewing on was this chair a couple of weeks ago.

Good evening all. 80F fir the start, light breeze, high clouds. Wind came up quickly today, clouds started to build late afternoon and high temp of 101F. Bike ride this morning, followed by some paperwork, meant to do some hand trimming but too hot.
Wife and I are enjoying the quilts. Wife was doing some quilting until step daughter had to go on out of town contract work.
Went outside to see the fox barking, dog was ready to rumble, but we weren't ready for the vet bill:eek:
lightening visible north now.
Prayers for all.

I'd say you have a great memory! Greenwood Dairies, off old Route 1 in Langhorne, our version of Blue Bunny, richest ice cream around, until the whole place burned down. Lot of melted ice cream...lot of kids unhappy when that place shut down.

Did you ever get up to Goodnoes in Newtown for their Atomic Sundae? If you ate two, the third was for free. Impossible actually, the first one was big enough for three people.

One last Eastern PA memory: Willow Grove Park. Ferris wheel visible for miles away. Went up in it once and discovered serious unhappiness with heights, never did that again.

Never got to Gino's, but I of course tried some sliders from White Castle. And honestly, I thought they were soft and kind of goopy tasting. Have to admit, I was a McDonald's guy from the beginning, one of the very first in US opened in West Trenton, NJ. Driving over the bridge to NJ from PA and going to McDonald's with buddies as senior in high school was I'm afraid all the food excitement we had. That same McDonalds is still there, amazing after 50+ years. Remember when the sign said Millions Served ?
They must be up to trillions by now.

ok, that taxed my brain prior to coffee

Goodnoes was the normal go-to. We lived off of swamp rd, about 2 miles from them. Our property bordered Tyler state park. Yep, Willow Grove park was neat. Then came along the 'Great Adventure' park over in Jersey. It became the new go to amusement park. We got married at the chapel on the Willow Grove Naval Air Station.

Wife, Sophie worked Gino痴 near FT Dix while in HS. I didn稚 know her then unfortunately.

David, it is a small world. I was stationed / flew out of Maguire AFB, which was practically next door to Ft Dix. I do long for some Jersey blueberries and silver queen corn.....

Here is a pic of the quilt wife's uncle just finished and gave to us.

Wifey is absolutely amazed! She just keeps saying that is an impressive amount of beautiful work. Will surely be a family heirloom!

Day went a tad different than planned.
Wife and I both got haircuts this morning. Never thought growing up or as young man that it would be in a beauty salon. Times change. Then again Daphne is only one to cut my hair last 13 years. And I surely never expected to pay as much as I do. Just one is more than I paid for whole year, and that was back when I got them regularly. Now only 3-4 times a year and I don’t have as much either.
After our beauty visit, wife suggested that as we were out already, perhaps we should go to lunch. Why not, only 40 miles, but a pretty ride.
And after lunch, DQ was just across the street, so close.
Did get back home early afternoon. After the fur kids got their McNuggets, mowing. Happy to report more than half mowing done, but particularly near house. Wife is happy. Me too.

Sitting back, relaxing, enjoying a fresh drawn IPA

72 outside this AM. Heading into the low 90's with oppressive heat and chances of thunderstorms.
Need to finish grass cutting today. And probably restart in the back. Yeah it is growing that fast.
Have a great day all. Be safe.

I admit to being envious and hope I can find someone like that, again...

another hot day with storms this afternoon likely.
Will be out at 7am mowing lawn, probably three hours of that.

this is really fun, you lived no more than three miles from my home just outside of Newtown, technically in Holland.
My late wife used to love to ride her bike through Tyler Park. Everyone in the area walks their dog there.
I grew up on Aquetong Road just South of New Hope, about 15 miles away.
Nice area, remarkably good schools, teachers earn six figures, but way too expensive for me to retire there.

hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all, 69 going to 88 with a 20-60% chance of showers-heavy rain. Got the weed eating done and the usual in house stuff. Friends stopped in last evening and played some music for the boy. He was so excited, he slept like a rock last night. :)

Buppies, we are blessed.

LS, we used to raise about 1 ac of silver queen in the middle of a corn field. We would get all we wanted, then my uncle and then the neighbors would be turned loose to clean it out. I miss that too. Wife looked at your wife's quilts for a good while and said she is careful with her work, she really liked the buckeye beauty. She made one that even had the same colors a few years ago for her son.

Don, truly is a pretty quilt, wife just sat and looked at it for a while.

Have great day, prayers sent. Ed
