Good evening all. 62F in Sedalia this morning, overcast and rain in forecast, with a brisk breeze. Rain on and off on trip home heavy at times, and fog early north of US-54. No other issues except weather during the trip. Here in Texas rain shower this evening, and high of 87F. Tomorrow is the last 80F day in the 10 day forecast with temp slide all week.

Welcome back Harv! Hope y'all are doing alright. Tell Glenda howdy.

Drew, the CVTs that nissan uses are only rebuilt by Nissan. If someone knows an outside company that is doing a quality rebuild, I would like to know about it. I'm telling you Drew, now that the word has gotten out in your circle of peeps, you will need to keep a dirty mop handy at all times to keep them at bay. My widowed uncle kept meeting gals, that started out OK, but 2 of them had serious health issues and I kind of believe they were looking for a man with insurance safety net. This was before retired people's insurance was reasonable.

I fired up the smaller tractor with the 5' cutter and got after it, cutting the bar ditches and the 2 "motts" of trees near our house. When I remove the FEL, and lower the ROPS, that thing handles so well in the oaks. hydrostatic, power steering, live PTO....It's the fishizzle. Then, with my wife sitting in my lap, she showed me where to cut her trail that she likes to walk. The spiders that make webs from the ground up to the tree branches are out in full force. She carries a 3' long (meter for our friends) that she uses to knock the webs down.

Killed a scorpion in the house. A very young and small one. Need to spray again. I might wait until this round of rain goes by.

Got the garden "scarified" with the box blade scarifers. This is actually better than tilling IMO as far as speed vs results. Not quite as good as tilling, but only 30 minutes vs 2 days. I only have a 24" (762mm) walk behind tiller. I would love a 3 point. My daughter spread out some black eyed pea seeds. They might end up just being a cover crop. Need a shot of rain now. My 2 pepper plants have spawned a new growth of peppers and are just about ready to pick again. I will pass them out at work.

BEF, looks like quite a meal you had there.

Harvey, is that close to Fantasy lane, on the other side of Reality Rd? The pic came through, you figured it out.

So we were enjoying a nice walk down the street this evening when a neighborhood lady screamed my wife's name. I turned around and this black blur was heading right toward us. Whipper had the biggest smile on her face, she had figured out how to escape the yard. After careful examination of claw scratches in my cedar boat the pathway to freedom was evident. She had jumped on the patio ledge onto the boat then jump through the air over the 4' fence. Now it's game on to figure out a way to foil her next escape.

Kyle a baby scorpion in the house is bad news. If that mother is in there they can have hundreds.
This is how the one looked like that I found in the water meter at our old house.

70 going to 82. No rain at all in 10 days, but looks like the hurricane will deliver later this week.

Hello Harv!

Don, never knew scorpions carried their babies like that. Good to hear Whipper is still creative.

Kyle, I wave a stick when hiking through the woods, too, this time of year. Seems like as soon as the deerflies disappear, the spiders appear. If they'd just start a month earlier, they'd catch lots of flies. Just looked at my "log" and the last deerfly was killed on Sept. 14....total kills this year = 2,056.

BEF, that pig looks perfect.

CWB, beautiful snow! Does it melt away fast this time of year?

The audit starts today...it's been a real hassle getting this all together.

Good morning all, 65 going to 83 with am fog and a 20% chance of T-storms. Not sure what today will bring but will take it as it comes.

Don, that sure does not look like fun, Kyle, praying you don't have that many n your house.

Harvey, Looks like a great place to live the dream, welcome back.

Kyle, that is quite a pic, Drew fighting for his life with a dirty mop, I think I see a few Kung Foo moves. :)

Don, hope things go well with wipper.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

I keep my mop clean guys, so there...:D

73 going to 84 today in clouds. Looks like we got some rain last night, about half an inch.
Should at least keep the dust down, I've been sneezing again.

spiders, wow are they everywhere and they are those really big ones. I get a spider web on my face and wonder what else is crawling around on me. Mosquitoes still everywhere, flies that sit on my white athletic socks and bite me all the way through the material. My left ankle is itching like mad from one of those literal suckers getting me yesterday. Even after I sprayed OFF on me, though I admit I didn't spray my socks...

Picking okra this morning, then run to food pantry, then home to start on my current list. Have about 5 acres of field to mow, just grass at this point, wonder if it would be better to disc it all to pull the grass/vegetation back into the earth. Not like it won't grow right back with all the weed seeds floating around here. In the Spring it will be where my potatoes are planted. No corn next year.
Okra, potatoes, collards and peppers; simplifying and going to make it easier on me. Tomatoes are too hard, almost like growing roses around here, just constant maintenance. Decided not to buy a greenhouse, everything will be planted directly this year. That lets me travel in Jan and Feb, vs being locked at home staring at seed pots.
