To all in front of the hurricane, please batten hatches and get to safe ground.

Got home early yesterday and decided that I had enough time to give the arena a tidy up with the harrows and give the weeds some grief, SWMBO unlocked the shed at the weekend to let an agent in and locked it again and put the key somewhere, the tractor is in the shed, I can't find the key, she is out somewhere and her mobile phone is on the kitchen table, the bolt cutters are in the shed with the tractor, I had a beer instead.

That's so frustrating, but the beer part made me laugh...What else you gonna do?

wngsprd, I hope you get enough off of coco's face that it's tolerable. I always wondered if WD40 might break down the oil, and then wash that off with dawn detergent.

drew, __it happens. Hope you got it straightened out. OAN, make sure your potential women know how to swab a deck to your satisfaction. I'm talking with a mop!!! :)

We got 2 1/8" of rain today! Some places got waaay more yesterday and their rivers are over the banks, people had to get rescued. Heard one man was nakey, and another woman floated downstream 20 miles before she got rescued. Not sure how that happened???

Helped train 2 young peeps at work today on the mills.

Mine was doing that until about ten days ago, itç—´ been somewhat dry, but it normally starts to go dormant about now every year in this area.
Now I am not done mowing, but it will be way less until the first frost.
Mine ain't dormant, growing like crazy.
Finished mowing field last night, then remowed some from earlier that already grew 6-8".
Wanted to mow yard tonight, but gets dark too soon now. It is really tall also.

Good evening all. 69F for the start, overcast, calm wind. No rain gauge report it was left down after mowing yesterday :(. Rain started 9AM here, and had checked and replaced rain gauge. Got about 1 1/2 inches today, low water bridge closed. Wind kicked up when squall line went through, ended about 3 PM this afternoon. Not much going on outside, did some consulting work, caught up on billing.
PJ, good luck finding apt for stepson.
Interesting gun video
Drew sorry to hear about neighbor ignoring your lease and work:thumbdown:
prayers for all

An unusually yellow sky this morning. Perhaps it is something to do with the exotic air that has been travelling up in the opposite direction to the swallows migrating to Africa. It's quite something to think that each breath I take could contain a few molecules exhaled not too long ago from a Wilderbeest on the Sertengeta.

Maybe it's a good thing that the usual Atlantic breeze is being diverted - otherwise those some of molecules may have originated instead from Coco's stinky playmate :D

Good morning all, 66 going to 75 with a 40% chance of showers and then a 70% chance of heavy rain. Need to run some errands and ???? will see. Coco must live very close to me because I could smell her friend when I went out to walk our dog.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

A Cat 4 is bad news, hope it dies down quickly.
Heavy thunderstorms predicted here Thursday going into Friday as storm goes over our head.
More raking I bet, they expect a lot of wind with this still.
I'm beginning to dislike raking....................

We have a thread member in Louisiana or nearby, hope everyone does ok there. This time they didn't have anywhere near as much notice, that means even more problems. They'll be tying down the planes in Pensacola for sure.

Larro, be safe out there.

Looks like this morning is last of dry weather for awhile.
So..........since half of my leased field is now disc'd, I guess I'll be hooking up the disc today, if I can by myself, dubious..., and I'll go disc the rest.

I wouldn't be mad at the farmer in your situation if the land owner did not tell him about your lease
I agree. Admit I scratch my head though, the entire plot was mowed the day before, all the rest of the field was three feet tall, and it was obvious something" was going on there. I put in extra four foot tall plastic pipes just because of this, so there would be no doubt where the lines were.
What smart person pulls up someone else's stakes?
Bottom line is this guy isn't very bright. Really. We've had discussions before, retired guy playing at farming and not doing it very well in my opinion. Though I hardly have enough experience to judge. When I heard and saw that big blue New Holland roaring away on the other side of the tree line, I knew this wasn't going to end well. However yesterday he disc'd the entire farmer's field, including the overgrown collard patch, so it looks a lot better now. At least I don't have to do it anymore. His disc works better than mine, which really means he sets his properly. I keep setting mine down too low...need to go low one pass and higher second pass. I'm learning, but I sure know enough not to pull up someone else's boundary stakes. Particularly when I was 500 feet away and he could have stopped his tractor and come over and asked.

Just about 70 in Muncie...high in the upper 70's today.

Last day of the audit. Things went south yesterday when the auditor found an error in a spread sheet (concerns heat treat calculations and I'm no expert...so, no further clarification) that was used for a monthly test...and the error has been in the calculations since Feb 2017. That is a major finding that an auditor cannot ignore. I expect one more finding...possibly a major..today.
Well, you get findings...you fix 'em. That's about all we can do.

Heading home tonight. I get back to the airport in Manchester NH about midnight, then a two hour drive home. Doubt if here will be a "Good Morning" post from me tomorrow...

No coffee this morning. 62° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 78° with with thunderstorms in afternoon when front comes through. Starting tomorrow daytime temperatures will be in the 50's at best. Waiting for my cousin to pick me up and take me to hospital. That will be it for my day.

Prayers for those in path of latest hurricane. Stay safe.

Drew, since the tractor operator was pulling a disk. Did he get your leased area ready to plant potatoes?

Good Morning All.

safe trip home Roy.
messing up heat treating calculations sounds like someone needs to test the final product also...

Eric, careful that you don't get the wrong end of the wildebeast so smell. ;)
Might be worse than Coco's friend...
if the sky was yellow here, I think I'd stay inside and wonder what chemical plant blew up
