My father-in-law's new gator arrived and we took it for a spin this morning it's quite nice and smooth.

Ron, glad you are enjoying coffee again. I just finished roasting 3 batches this morning...wish I could make you a cup. Are you sitting at the new counter/butcher block, looking out at some cranes?

The butcher block countertop and is perfect for a person with one workable arm. Seats are at 24” so I can slide on and off the chairs.
Cranes have been back everyday. One eats while the other watches. But do not fly away if I walk outside. They just slowly walk away.
Coffee was extra good today even though it was plain old Folgers Classic Medium.

Got the pool closed for the year, glad for that. Still need to put a few things away. Pruned a tree in out front yard. I know wrong time of year but it sure looks better.

Good evening all. 60F for the start, overcast and rain with moderate wind, and 1.8 inch rain in the gauge this morning. Wind was moderate with some brisk gusts, overcast all day and rain through about 3 PM, and temps dropped slowly all day, now down to 57F. No ride today due to rain, did not do much of anything, but cook wife some breakfast. Did walk down to low water #2 crossing and got a pic

RNG, I have a broken Ipad gen 2, and a broken ipad mini.

I looked up making an appointment at the apple place and HOLY COW, it was not cost effective to have them fixed. The gen 2 is suffering from an update, and now can't connect to apple music which unlocks it supposedly???

Is it cheaper to just mail them in somewhere?

Good evening to all! We had a few beautiful days, highs in the 60's, lows down in the low 40's. Moisture streaming in from Arizona tommorow, meeting up with a cold front from the north. We have a 70% chance of rain tomorrow afternoon, changing to snow in the early morning hours Monday. Maybe 2-6" possible here in the mountains.

Last couple of days have been long, running a bunch of errands, organizing some outside stuff, going to a work meeting, more errands.....whew...got tired out.

Mostly and Kyle, thanks for asking about the knee. It's still the same, not getting better. The ortho doc wanted to "re-do" surgery... We concluded to wait and try another cortisone injection and doubling the oral steroids for 2 weeks. Well they ended 3 days ago and the swelling is back with a vengeance. Intermittent sharp pain has also returned. I go back for reassessment the first week of November. I suspect that there will not be any options except for additional surgery.

I'm glad that you guys made it through the recent storm with minimal or no damage.

Ron, happy belated anniversary to you and the wifey! Quite an accomplishment.

David, wow! 176" of rain! We have not had that much rain over the last 20 YEARS! We have an average yearly rainfall of 8". It's amazing that anything actually grows here.

Drew, as usual, your place looks beautiful.

Heading for bed now...maybe sleep for longer than a couple of hours.

I've learned it's best to not upgrade the software on Apple hardware much past the point there Apple moves on to newer stuff. Unfortunately, that means at some point, security patches and fixes that enable newer apps to work stop coming, and you're left in a situation like what you have with the iPads. It'll cost about what the laptop I sent in to get it working again, and I already know the latest and greatest from Apple won't run on it. So I'll disable automatic upgrades, and be content to just read email and surf the web on it. As far as i can see, Apple has the iOS devices pretty much locked down as far as longetivity. My iPhone 4S is several generations past anything Apple currently supports, and isn't much good for anything but maybe a camera. I guess that's just the price of progress, but what's being offered as latest and greatest isn't so great. Not sure what to tell ya, as it's the same situation over on the Android side. Kinda like the car situation. Lots of folks just lease a car now, drive it a year or two, and turn it in for a new one with all the latest buzzers and whistles. Fools and their money...
