Up early here, too.

Having a cup of coffee anyway.

Frosty and 24 outside. Had a red fox eating birdseed near the house again. This fox has a crooked tail, and easy to tell apart from other foxes. We've seen her for about 2 years, and have trail cam photos of her fox den and her kits growing up.

Prayers for RNG and the Cali folks dealing with fires.

Thank you Veterans for defending freedom!

IF I remember my 7th grade volume formula right I think to find the volume of a cylinder it is;

My school days were long ago too and we switched from imperial units to metric while I was in high school.

Not many volumes in England are measured with good old imperial units - hardwoods from a timber yard are still sold in cubic feet, you can still buy a traditional pint of beer and after that I'm struggling to think of anything that isn't metric. Car manufacturers still quote miles per gallon, even though all the fuel pumps are in litres.

That equation for the volume of cylinder is pi x (diameter x diameter / 4) x length.

277 cubic inches in an imperial gallon (One of the rare things that is not bigger and better in America ! :))

A wet start to Sunday that is likely to continue into the afternoon.

Our 8 year old grandson is in the cub scouts and he may be in for a bit of a soaking. Their pack will be representing the youngsters of today in the annual laying of wreaths for those who lost their lives in the war that ended 100 years ago.

Have you seen the old WW1 black and white film that is been processed with modern technology ? Quite remarkable World War One footage transformed into colour by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson - YouTube

Made me a new grill for my trusty 22" Old Smokey BBQ pit. Trying some expanded 1/16" stainless steel. Not sure if it will hold up to the heat or not, but we'll see. Stainless can/will lose it's stainless properties if heated too hot. (unless you have it in an inert atmosphere).

Kyle, you know citric acid is wonderful for passivating stainless, so which of your children would like to spend a few hours squeezing lemons over the grill ?
Or is this going to be another excuse for you to play with some more of that titanium. :)

7 and a high of 25F. Wind WNW13 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

Yesterdays snow threw a monkey wrench into the game plan. I some of the fiddly bits done here (plowing) and when I got onto the road, I got a real rude awakening. Trees down! I have never seen trees down on this road in the 24 years I have lived here. I don't carry an axe with me and I don't own a chain saw. The loader and bucket made quick work of two of them, but the third was a pita to get out. Chain on the bucket and pull in different directions and wiggle it out of the ground. It now resides in the ditch from root to top. I told the township plow driver when he came by what I had done.
I get to Sundridge to get a clean out T and the hardware store was closed, no hydro. No sale and no clean out T, so that job is on hold until Monday.

I have the new fuel pump to install today. Taking my cobbled together 12 volt pump out and putting in a proper 110 volt pump. I will use the suction pipe from the hand crank pump, so it will be one out and one in real quick, I hope. After that job is done I will probably pay for it in pain, but I have some 'stuff' that will take care of that.

Junior came out after putting the groceries away and told me he cannot find his wallet. He looked in the Dodge, no wallet. He called the grocery store and the teller had it, 'get in the truck' was all I said, and right back to Sundridge to fetch it. If it wasn't for his OHIP card (Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan) I wouldn't have made the trip until Monday.

My neighbour (77 years young) told me that he is 'leaking'. He had his prostrate out 15 years ago, I won't tell you what he told me about the results of that. The Doctor has given him pills to stop the leaking, but he gets dry mouth from them. So he drinks more liquid for the dry mouth, leaks more due to the increase in liquid intake and eats more pills to combat the leaking. And around and around it goes.:confused2:
I told him that there was only one winner in that deal and it sure as he11 wasn't him. The doctor gets a down payment on his new yacht, thanks to buddies pill script. I am almost positive the doctors in this province are taking kickbacks from the dope companies.

That is my day set up, now to conserve energy until noon, then get at it.

Have a good day all

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 27° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 37° with some sun in afternoon. Got all my projects done yesterday. :D Going to spend some time cleaning up covered trailer today. Then take some pictures of a couple of things wife wants to sell. Some NASCAR in afternoon.

PJ, I would have to say wife and I are pretty much happy with Medicare. Choosing the best plan for you can be a very confusing.

Buppies, hope the arm is getting better. Yesterday was 1 month since my surgery. Has not been a good month. I am counting days until I get released to start PT. 25 days to go.

RNG, best wishes for your safety and your home was spared.

Larro, best wishes that cleanup is going good.

A BIG Thank You to all our VETERANS. MY dad was in WW1. 2 brothers in Vietnam. Oldest son served in Gulf War. Thankfully they all made it home safely.

Payers for all.

Good Morning All.
