13 right now...looks like that's the high today too. Heavy snow rolling in later today with accumulations predicted to be as much as 24 inches (Bethel is on the border between 12-18 and 18-24).

Chores today are a dump run, pick up the mail at the post office...get some ice melt and try to fix the mailbox I knocked down a week ago. Oh yeah...get diesel fuel too

Drinking first cup of hot coffee. 20° with snow and wind. Heading to 22° with continued snow and wind. About 1" of snow on ground. May get another 2". Even though I got new exercises yesterday. My arm is not complaining. May get out and clean walkways when snow stops. Other than that staying inside. Comcast has been out since 1am this morning. Just came back online about 1 hour ago. Supposed to be updating Fiber Optic lines. Took a while to figure that I needed to reboot router to get my desktop online.

David, I will give you a pass on the current weather here in Michigan after posting your latest morning picture. :D

Don, what are you using to clear culverts.

Jay. glad you got ahold of snow guy and you have similar interest. Prayers for leg healing quickly.

Good Morning All.

totally delighted to come home and see the two firemen leaving, having unclogged that whole rear ditch in about four hours.
One guy said "if I never do that again it will be too soon"....to which I absolutely agreed, and gave them both a big tip on top of what we agreed on. My ditch heroes. Just an awful job. Now we need to chainsaw a bunch of trees in the ditch, then lastly I may rent a mini ex and have a nice muddy time. But at least now the ditch won't hold three feet of water all the time. Only took me four years to accomplish this.

went out and watered the plants, 102 in the greenhouse. Everything is popping up.
Enjoy your Friday evening and drive safely.

Drew, I'm envisioning 2 guys waste deep in the cold, muck, struggling to remove large broken off logs, flotsam and jetsam....by hand. Glad they got it done in 4 hours. How cold was it? Pictures?

David, beautiful sunrise. I wish I was there.

Ron, glad to hear your arm is better by the week. Don't over do it on chores.

Eric, I had the same feelings about Rick's barn too. Trying not to be covetous here, but it's tough.

PJ, not sure what I'd think if my Soul was burning. :)

Buppies and all, I Hope you all are getting better.

I need more barn space. A friend at work knows an older lady, who lost her husband some time ago. She wanted to offload some stuff, but not use Craigslist or social media. He told her that he knew a guy who would want and utilize the stuff....Well, most of the stuff. The list of stuff is long. I got a Lincoln tombstone welding rig and cables, welding rods, a complete oxyacetylene torch setup with bottles, a 230 volt/twin cylinder SpeedAir compressor (I think it's a 3 hp), a heavy duty metal bender on a pedestal, a Jet benchtop drill press with 2 vise' with about 60 drills, a Jet bench grinder, an old school Black and Decker cast aluminum heavy duter 7" side winder grinder, a hand Dake arbor press, and much more. Now all I need is a CNC lathe and Mill. :)

Now she's asking if I'm interested in her sectional couch and living room furniture.

You guys batten the hatches up north. It is blustery here and near 40F and dropping. I have a cough that won't go away and I don't look forward to getting out in this weather.

38 outside this AM. Got in late last night. In ketchup mode. Lol.
Dismayed to hear of so many health issues. Hope all recover quickly. Prayers to you all.
It was a crazy trip. Started horribly. Never try and rent an SUV after a snow event in this area.
Wife doing well. Doctor even recovered from surgery. He keeps telling us it was long and hard. Lol. When I see the x rays all that comes to mind is the terminator like exoskeleton. And her mind is that focused too. Yikes....
Anyhow need to go get food and supplies this AM for this bad weather coming.
Please be safe all. Have a great day.
And thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers. They worked a miracle.

We had a very pleasant 70 degrees yesterday afternoon, so I got a couple of outdoor chores done. And now . . . 33 degrees going for a high of 39 with a 20% chance of showers (and I've already had some light showers) and we have a 22 to 37 mph north wind.:( I made up a big pot of chili yesterday, so unless something unexpected happens, I won't even get outside today.

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 5:30AM. Cloudy with occasional showers. High 57F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

Glad to hear the good news about your wife, Rip!

Headed out this morning to move a trio of burned up motorcycles for a widow. Truck & trailer, come along, shovel, pry bars, snatch strap. Hope it doesn't get too ugly. I also hope it doesn't rain and turn the place into a mud fest. The effects of the Camp Fire will be felt for a long while by a lot of people.

Hope everyone works hard on getting well and staying safe this weekend...

28 now. Just waiting for the storm. Latest maps are showing we are still on the southern edge of Snowmaggedon and may not get a huge snowfall. I am ok with that. Tomorrow into Monday is supposed to be coldest weather we have had this winter so far....

The warranty repair to the root canal went well. The specialist found 3 additional canals the dentist didn稚 find. He was impressed, 5 canals in a single molar. The soreness is easing up, yesterday was a bit tough.

Think I will give the 1952 BSA some attention today. I would really like to get this project done. It has been too long

Bill, throw in a log for me. Find some hand craft to keep you busy; i.e.off your feet. Accomplish something
with your hands (sure, why not let your mind wander...), play cards, build a picture frame, things that don't involve walking.
It sure is hard to sit there and do nothing, drives me nuts. Naps are the exception.
Same for Jay, nothing like a throbbing knee to get your attention big time.

Poor David/Sodamo, he wakes up and is told he is the problem for all the world's woes. Well at least the weather...:D
I always wondered what would happen if our world decided to spin in the opposite direction.

Tractor Daddy, that's a great looking project. Now how many cooks for this broth?

"I always wondered what would happen if our world decided to spin in the opposite direction."

You'll have to ask the TBN Members ....... on Venus.

The low looks to be 19° this morning. Yesterday was in the high 20's with snow showers most of the day. We end up with about a foot of snow over the last two day's. Today is going to be partly cloudy with a high in the upper 30's.

I got most of the driveway done yesterday. Still need to do some work on it later. We haven't made it to town this week so we need to get that done today.

I'm glad that I'm off the hook for the bad weather. But now I'm sad to find out that's it's sodamo fault.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
CWB.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Drew- I am happy to read that your ditch has been cleared.

Billy- He helped us out in the past when I was out of state attending to family issues and when I shattered my ankle. He does a great job and he's honest. After my return home the first time I had to snowshoe to my tractor which had snow drifted up to the height of my R-1 rears and seat. I did not make that mistake the second time.

Bruce- I do stupid stuff from instinct. My brain is not in the loop.

What happens over the Bering Sea happens to the CONUS about 7 ~ 9 days later in some fashion. Some call it the Bering Sea Rule and others the Sodamo Cycle.;)

Eric- Thanks. I love this stuff. One of my Bud is highly involved in the ITER project. He is doing some amazing stuff. For those interested: ITER - Wikipedia

Bill- I belief that I will graduate to a Tensor or similarly designed knee brace after this :censored: immobilizer.

TD- An interesting project. I like mud.

"... It sure is hard to sit there and do nothing, drives me nuts. Naps are the exception. ? Drew This is when 都tupid happens.

Wifey and Brogen did the dump run while I am sitting here watching and waiting for "Harvey" and the Fedex van bringing me an Apple laptop computer so I can ice the knee while staring blankly at a computer monitor. This pending storm is one of the most complex storms that I have ever seen or can remember.

Brogen- is slowly learning how a tether works. He quickly learned that hanging out outdoors smelling everything is more interesting than staying indoors and smelling me.

I hope that everyone has a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for everyone.

I missed checking in yesterday apparently, currently 43, going into the high 50s overnight, before dropping to around 10 tomorrow night, with winds 30-50 mph. Going out to take the flag down today and move the garbage cans to the garage. Looks like a lot of rain as well.

I love my KIA, but it’s a one year only model, body on frame SUV with a DOHC V8, on a platform not shared by Hyundai. The navigation system is the easiest and best I’ve ever used. It’s quiet and smooth, The handling and performance is outstanding.

I made up a big pot of chili yesterday, so unless something unexpected happens, I won't even get outside today.

You might get kicked outside, lol

We went out to eat last night, i had a big bowl of Chile. It was so good. Then in the night it started reminding me how good it was.

This morning was clean the high ceiling fan day. Had to bring in the 8 ft step ladder from the barn.

Took a ride in the ranger to see what the tree trimmers were up to. They cut a large tree and left it lay across my trail to the creek.
0119190943.jpeg not sure why they cut this one, instead of the large dead ones behind it. But, it is on road ROW, and they must have chipped all the limbs and left me the wood. I will see if my neighbor wants it for firewood. They also cut a small locust that is on my property, left it lay across the creek. Must have been power line trimmers.

36° and the weather that was supposed to hit at 10:00 is still in Southern VA.

64 °F and ,62 inches rain. We needed it, been a dry Jan for us.

Another run to PO this morning, hopefully a productive one. If so I’ll likely install new tailwheel on mower. Depending on wx maybe try it out.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
