Drew, someone stole your Jaguar with the rattle that could not be found?

Yup. The rattle that made me dump the car. Kinda wonder if something fishy is going on other than a car theft.
Why a year later is my name still on that car? ?? Wonder if the new owner ever registered it?
not my problem, though the Orlando police would like to make it mine. no no no

60 outside this AM. Heading to lower 90's this week. Helped neighbor with hay yesterday. Last night the deer were looking for new bed down areas since the grass is now short. They were coming right up to the fence as we roasted marshmallows. Got the powerwasher all ready for the work week. Hope I can keep up.

Hawkeye, I hope your daughter improves, are the doctors overlooking retinal detachment with all the other trauma suffered?

Daugen, had a car come back at me via the State, Local police and impound lot. Seems they go by last registered owner. As smarts would have it, I had the persons information, which was requested.

Prayers for all, positive thoughts for fast healing.

Have a great day all. Be safe.

Good Monday Morning. It's 80°F and dry here now. Storms coming from the north, heading our way. Forecasts says temp will drop to 71°F by 8 a.m. when rains come through then up to 90°F this afternoon. We need the rain and 71° will feel good.

Plans for today will be weather dependent. Probably some shop time this morning.

Our Astros finally ended their uncharacteristic string of losses with a win against them Yankees yesterday. I listened to the game while mowing the open areas of the yard with the LS tractor and RFM. The A/C felt good, as we were back in another Heat Advisory yesterday.

Kyle .... nice bird bath picture! Three drinking, one in line. Saw two cardinals on ours yesterday.

Thomas ... back to work? Now you can rest up from your days off.

Randy .... thanks for giving us an update, keep getting better.

BEF .... ditto!

David and Jay .... enjoy your travels.

When I lived in London for 3 years, mid 1970's, an Aussie friend asked me if I'd turned into a "POM" during my time there. . Eric ...... will explain.

Hope everyone has an excellent Monday.

Prayers to all.

Question Drew, did you retain the license plates when you sold the Jag. I always remove my plates and toll tags.

Good morning! Oh my, pom insults flying this morning already, what is GM coming to?:D

A cool front came in last night dropping morning temps 10˚. It's 68˚F and we had 2.5" of rains last night.

Yesterday we went on an outing on a big party bus with the neighborhood to Fredericksburg TX about 1hour 45minutes away. We had lunch and saw the small town production of "The Sound of Music". Very pleasant and still got back before dark. It was cloudy and a light mist (the kind you can feel on your forehead but does not show up on your glasses) when we got there so the temps were only in the 80s - very nice for late June.

My 5 tomato plants are producing too many tomatoes. our freezer is filling up fast. Next year I'll only plant two, that should produce about 50 tomatoes.

I see little cucumbers. I planted the cucumbers in the space where I harvested the potatoes. My two eggplants are producing 3 a week - might cut down to one plant next year.

The 1/2 yard of mushroom compost along with cotton bur compost and molasses is really a fertile soil combination in our organic gardens.

I suspect most, if not all, states have a law similar to ours in Texas that makes it "advisable" but not mandatory for the seller to notify the state when you sell or trade a vehicle.

Good morning to all! Low of 43, nice and crisp. Going up to 83 today. Humidity is only at 8%. Some of you guys mention the 3 H's....out here we have SDH...sunny, dry, hot.... I don't think it ever feels as hot as your areas though, not with all that humidity!

Got a bunch of outside work done yesterday, then celebrated by having 2 pork roll sandwiches....YEP, they were just as good as I remembered! Fried it this time, next time will be on the grill.

I'm off to the big city again this morning for another big arse needle into the knee. First shot last week didn't seem to help, but they did state that it probably wouldn't make any difference. Apparently results won't happen until after 3 injections, if they help at all!
Only a 60% success rate of any relief...I guess fair odds...

Everyone have a great start to the week! Prayers out for those needing.

66°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 80° today. Drove through a little rain on the way to work this morning. Going to be around 90° most of the week, but no more rain after today until sometime next week. I'm OK with that.

It rained on and off for most of the day yesterday, so nothing done outside. Fixed the kitchen door going to the sunroom, which had been rubbing against the jamb towards the top. A couple of the hinge screws were stripped in the frame side, easily fixed with a few toothpicks. Got the oil changed in my car.

Other than that, just kind of piddled around in the studio most of the day.

thanks, I will ask her about it. Read more about Topamax yesterday... I don't know why anyone would ever go on that drug.. my daughter has maintained her sense of humor, she says she is a 1% now (only 1% of people on Topamax have serious side effects)..

Never been a big baseball fan, but this kind of struck me yesterday. I was out in the barn last night after closing up the chicken coop. We have a radio out there (to scare off groundhogs), and it's always playing the local news/talk radio station KMOX. They are the flagship station for the STL Cardinals, and were broadcasting the game. The Angels were in town this weekend. It's the first time since Albert Pujols left the Cardinals that he's been back to Busch Stadium (not sure why MLB let that take 8 years, but whatever). So, I walk into the barn and hear Mike Shannon saying it's the top of the 9th, bases loaded, and Pujols comes to bat, 47,000 people on their feet. It's one of those scenarios Cardinals fans always loved to hear ... except this time he's playing for the opposition. He got to 3-2, then popped out to the 1st baseman. He walked back to the dugout to a standing ovation, which continued until he took the proverbial curtain call. Probably his last time in St. Louis, and the fans showed their appreciation. Very classy.

Good Morning!!!! 71F Sunny to partly cloudy. High 94F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

A Brit and an Aussie in our old Norton Motorcycle Club used to go at it on a regular basis, and Pom was one of the nicer things said. I suppose it's all part of Australia's past, being used as a destination for those convicted of one thing or another in England. You'd hope people would learn from the past and get on with making the best of the present, but as recent talks on making reparations for slavery in this country show, the feelings run deep.

I sure hope these new injections help, Ted. Good Luck!!!

Glad it was a quite weekend on the bear front!

Two years after I sold a Ford Falcon Ranchero, I got a letter from a fella asking me to sign off on a new title he'd obtained on the thing. No telling how many times it had been bought and sold since it left my garage, but my name was the last one on file with the state. The little Honda Trail 90 I picked up a few years ago still had the original owner's name on the title, a man long dead. It was difficult to get him to sign off on some paperwork our dear DMV wanted, and I ended up asking for a "lost" title replacement instead. Sure, we can do that...:confused2::laughing: Now I always fill out and mail the state form that lets the DMV know I've sold a vehicle, in hopes of not getting pulled into another shady transaction.

Got a phone call about dinner time last Friday from the adjuster that's handling my fire insurance claim. She'd replaced the person that had been dragging her feet for so long, and seemed anxious to settle. Once she reviewed her figured her figures I noticed there was no "Loss of Use" compensation, so she asked for my tally and off it went in an email. I hope her inertia remains high and a check shows up soon; it would be a big help in the new tractor department.

The motorcycle ride up the Feather River Canyon to Quincy is always a treat, and even with sun in my eyes much of the way, Saturday's didn't disappoint. Cool and refreshing at 7AM, after a delicious breakfast I added another layer to offset for the elevation I'd gain as I passed through Truckee and arrived at the King's Beach home of my friend hosting his annual Airhead's Tech Day. Pretty good attendance this year, with a couple dozen showing up with one thing or another to work on, or to just wolf down a burger or hot dog. I partnered up with a young fella that had just purchased his R100GS, similar to the one I rode there, walking him through an oil and filter change, and making some measurements to ensure he was using the correct number of shims to keep the filter working. Another guy was bringing back his bike from a long slumber by rebuilding the carbs, but had the devil's own time getting it to run well. After one test ride the problems significantly increased, and further changes to the carbs weren't helping. I'd suggested that perhaps the problem was with the points, having come on so suddenly as they had. So the next morning our host helped him pull the timing cover off the engine and sure enough, the gap had closed due to lack of lubrication on the points cam. A dab of grease and a little fiddling with a feeler gauge soon set things right and the smile on the owner's face was priceless. The bike was running better than ever when he left for a test ride, but after a lengthy absence he arrived back at the top of our hill pushing it. He'd run it out of gas! I took a different route home yesterday, north to Sierraville then the Golden Chain Highway 49 over the pass into the North Fork of the Yuba River canyon to Downieville and on to the old Marysville Road back to 70 south of Oroville via some lightly traveled back roads. The weekend had worn me out, and a nap felt almost as good as the shower that preceded it.

I think it'll be back to digging up sprinkler pipes this morning.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start.

Just checked with her, the doctor looked at her retina.. He described how the Topamax causes the eye muscles to pull the lenses out of shape and mess with things.. She has a followup with him on Wednesday where he will be recording some scanning he will be doing in the eye.

That's good to know they are checking that. And pressure too.

I hope her condition keeps improving and her attitude remains positive!

thanks, no choice, when I deleted car from insurance policy, State pursued me, financial responsibility proof, and I had to show them I sold the vehicle.
I even mailed the plate back to them.

My letters to both the impound lot and the police gave them the name and phone number of the auto dealership I sold it to.
Just hope he dotted all his I's on this one.

heading out to mow some lawn, 86 creeping up to 90.
