Good morning!!!!

I will be using a lot of Wine Bottles...empty of course, I drill a 5/8 or 3/4 inch hole in the bottoms, stack the bottle maybe on a rebar, and put a lot of the stacked bottle together... that in turn makes a wall. So I decided to call it a "Wine Bottle Wall" !
When I finish I will post a picture but don't hold your breath, it isn't on the top of the Honey-Do List..

Right now I hav about 30 each of the same Blue Bottles and the same Amber Bottles. I am going to try to alternate the staked lengths, blue, amber, blue, amber. From there I will see what other colored bottles I can get, chances are that will be the only colors since I have a Winery suppling them.

Next project will a Wine Bottle Chandelier.

Hope that explains what I ma doing.

Back in the old days of the American West, it wasn't too unusual for people to save liquor and wine bottles and use them with mud, and later, concrete, to make walls. Some of the resulting buildings survive to this day. The ones that I've seen have the bottles laying horizontal, with the ends of the bottles alternating toward the inside and outside of the wall. That way light is transmitted through the wall, and it picks up the color of the bottles. Some are quite colorful! Even better, no bottle drilling is required.

74 right now...high about 80 and possible thunderstorms this afternoon.

Upper jaw is fine, lower jaw is painful and swollen...I think infected where the right-most molars were... I have a follow-up dental appointment this afternoon, but due to the infection, I might not wait that long.

Good morning all. Nice to see TBN is error free today.

A while ago RNG commented on certain loaders not operating fast enough. Yesterday my youngest grandson had the same issue ...

Wng, sounds like you are doing something right for quail to raise so many chicks on a second brood. Do you have to control any predators ? I have not needed to kill foxes for quite a while as the lambs were left alone. The downside to that is in the quantity of ground nesting birds that have been killed, as evidenced by the fresh piles of feathers I frequently find in the mornings.

JB, hope you are feeling a little better today. Queechy lake looks a great place to paddle when it's not too windy.

David, so pleased you didn't roll over - would hate to have seen that sunshade framework scratched before we saw a pic with the canopy in place :D Seriously, glad you are ok. Time to give your hydraulically offset flail a workout ?

69 going to 92 on this first day of Autumn! Dry as a bone.

Eric, looks like fun with the grandson...he likes dinosaurs, right?

Kyle, I'm thankful that fire ants haven't reached this far north. I hadn't thought of them as predators, but it makes sense. Eric, we haven't done anything about predators here, but there are sometimes fox hunters that run dogs through the forest. I've enjoyed watching foxes catch field mice and voles many times, and we had a den full of fox kits last year about 130 yards from the house. I worry more about the occasional feral cat I see hunting.

Jay and Roy, hope you're feeling better today.

Hiked to the river yesterday with a young man I met in the parking lot...he was setting up his flyrod, so we had something in common, and Coco liked him...turned out he is from the same area where my in-laws lived in North Carolina. We caught up with a young couple...pregnant lady, 2 year boy hiking and a 8 year old girl...and the man had a beautiful boerboel dog...first one I've knowingly seen up close. Glad he was well trained and well behaved.

Days are certainly getting shorter...hard to believe it's still dark outside this late in the morning.

I was showing my guest the joys of fire ants, and when she saw them boiling out of the hole,
her eyes got big and said glad they don't come up here. My understanding is they haven't gotten into Virginia, but who knows.
Colder winters must stop them.

after breakfast and friend leaves to head back North, I'm taking a variety of peppers and okra down to food bank, then probably back to mow lawn.
Everything is very green here but ten day forecast still has zero rain in it. Looks like a dry East Coast.

Roy, hang in there, hopefully better in another day.

low sixties headed up to high 80's today, have a good start to the week.
Thomas, only a few more slow rolls......

RNG, hope your CEL goes out for a looooong time.

We used to fix them with a small piece of black electrical tape. wink, wink.

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 65° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 71° with some sun in PM. Lots of little things to get done today. Just cannot decided which one I should do first. Lawn needs mowing again. May get that done today. Hope the cooler temperatures slows growing down. Need to wash clothes and other household chores.
Got new tires and wheels for front casters on JD mower $170. But I do not have to deal with tying to mount 5" tires again. Dealer did not want to work on them either. All I have to do is install them on mower.

Jay, Randy and Roy, hope you are feeling better.

Drew, looks like a beaver has been putting trees down near your pond.

Scrambler, looking forward to pictures of your wine bottle project.

Thomas, down to single numbers until retirement.

Good Morning All.
